shouldn't she have just carried on the foot from the first grande battement into the pirouette prep? she didn't close fifth before either of the 'big' jumps either

@ballet901ami It has been mentioned below, but she said that the stage was too slippery for shoes. She'd originally planned to do it on pointe as well. Shame :(
@hockeygirl789 I wonder how many commentators here have ever danced in a prof. company! Some comments are plain stupid. These are amateurs, not girls from Vaganova/RB! This retired Royal Ballet dancer thinks she shows she had a good standard of amateur training (millions of badly-trained amateurs out there!) and love of dance. BTW closing in fifth on that floor in barefeet would be nigh on impossible for a pro!
@jinpitakki33 I'm pretty sure on the show she said she tested out her shoes but the floor was too slippery... even for when she was on the show the floors were not well suited for ballet so she had to use to excess amount of rosin to get decent gripping...
@jinpitakki33 ohhhh. that makes sense. but still, there just seems to be something inherently wrong with doing kitri on demi-pointe haha. it just... feels wrong.
put some pointe shoes on this girl!

I wish they featured ballet on SYTYCD in America... as far as I've seen, they don't :( Underappreciated discipline.

do u know how hard it is to turn so many times and close in 5th iam a profetional dancer and its still hard so back off
TheBalletdiva 4 months ago 24
@TheBalletdiva it's hard to take you seriously as a "profetional" dancer when you can't even spell the word professional.
LadySingBlues10 3 months ago
@TheBalletdiva i dont find it that hard, i mean its not easy but its posssible

@TrnsfrmerPrncs4lyfe Isn't it incredibly hard to? Even Svetlana Zakharova, Natalia Osipova and others couldn't do it.
PixieGirl778 2 months ago
@TrnsfrmerPrncs4lyfe For the first three fourths of her turns you couldn't even see her feet.

@TrnsfrmerPrncs4lyfe It looked to me like they were supposed to be travelling pirouettes, which end in fourth.
