I think that there are a lot of bands in the '80's,like Firehouse or Great White that have a lot of creativity and ability, but they are so underrated....And there are guys like JB or Rebecca Black that don't have any talent and are so famous...Fuckin' world..
I heard this song for the first time about 6 months ago--and this is the first time I've seen the video. I was never a fan of the 80s "hair bands," but this song is awesome.
I thought this song had meaning to me when I was with my ex. For a long time this song was connected to not-so-good times & feelings. I'd hear the opening of the song and cringe. About 2 years ago, it started playing on the radio and my husband sang the whole song to me. After the song was over, he lovingly asked me, "Do you know that you are the love of my lifetime?" My husband breathed life back into a song that I thought had no meaning in my life anymore.
This is my parents wedding song. They have been married for 20 years and when they get their vows renewed I'm singing it for them. I can't wait. They don't know that I'm singing it.
The problem with these later music videos and bands is that the director would only focus on the lead singer! It's why so many of these bands broke up and didn't feel equal. Skid Row, Steelheart, GNR. Theres a whole band for fuck sake!
i believe i have found my love of a lifetime.......idc what ppl say bout him. he has been there for me when everybody else didnt give a care bout me. i wish he knew how much i love him.
This was my Teenage Sweetheart and I 's song. We haven't been together for over 20 years. But still think of him more than I should, since we are both married to other people.
Caught these guys in Huntington WV on tour with Tesla. Tesla did not get to play so it was a one band show, on the house of course. I was blown away by how hard the band played. They played this and "Don't treat me bad". But a lot of their other rocked the place. I loved it.
I will never forget meeting the band at a McDonald's except for the singer, he was on a different tour bus with his family. I was on probation after serving eight years in the pen. They, the band, gave me a firehouse pick and autographs on Mickie Ds placemats. They just got done playing at Merry Weather Post Pavilion. I still have it and it is framed. I miss their music. Call me, FIREHOUSE, I am always in the studio and writing fresh compositions. HANK LOVE, Annapolis, MD.
Ugh i heard this when i was 10, my dad gave me their cd but sadly i lost it when we moved. I've been looking ever since. I can't believe i would find it after 9 years. Sigh, those were the days. I wish i could just go back to those days because everything sucks now.
TO BE HONEST BACK IN THE DAY THEY PLAYED THIS SONG SO MUCH THAT IT HAD GOTTEN WORN OUT FOR ME. MY FIANCE AND I GREW UP TOGETHER AND WE FINALLY STARTED DATING WHEN TURNED 30 (WE WERE THE SAME AGE)..HE WOULD SING THIS SONG TO ME ALL THE TIME AND SO I GUESS THIS WAS OUR SONG. HE SANG IT SO MUCH I GREW TIRED OF HIM SINGING IT. HE DIED LAST YEAR AND I WISH HE WERE STILL HERE TO SING IT TO ME!!!
@79BBYDOLL so sorry to hear. I bet when you close your eyes at night you can hear him singing it in your ear. Not to sound crazy.....so sad. I wish you a lifetime of happiness in the future. God Bless!
For anyone interested my cover band Black Horse performs love of a life time and also covers music from Boston, Foreigner, Zeppelin, Journey, Night Ranger, 38 Special, Fuel, Scorpions etc.
We are performing this saturday night Jan. 7th at Shady Katie's located at 814 White Horse Pk in Sommerdale, NJ Like us on facebook @ BlackHorse. We also have some pretty rocking original music to. This era was a great time for music. Stop by our FB site and share your memories this music brought to you.
I heard this song last week and since then it's the only one that I listen to over and over again. I'm a big fan of glam metal, but I didn't know this one. Shame on me.
Try the acoustic version, it's as good as this one!
I got married in 1983 at the age of 19. Everyone seemed to be against it at the time. Well 28 yrs. later and three kids raised, I'm still married to my "Love Of A Lifetime." I love you Kimie!!
19 years ago today I married the love of my life. This was, and still is, our song. We still listen to and love these hair bands, it was an incredible decade for rock! The early 90s rock is still some of the best out there. I like the newer stuff too; Seether, Disturbed, Papa Roach... could go on I'm sure. This song will always hold a special place in my heart, for reasons which are now obvious to anyone who reads this :)
Reminds me the good old times of early 90s when this single was released n my way of listening to new music was on radio VOA Europe Network on the shortwave.
Enjoy it while you have it is all I can say. Mine is gone. I was too young and fucking stupid to realize how much she loved me and how truly right sh was for me. That was in 93 - 95. I saw her again, a few years later...and the feelings started again...but I was with someone else...then finally...when I did have the chance I learned that she had been senselessly murdered. I love you baby. And always will Sharon. RIP baby. I will hold you in my heart to that day I join you sweetheart.
@capvl99 the hippies were in the 60s and early 70s. the RETRO hippies were in the 80s and early early 90s before real music came and killed it. Alt Rock and Punk FTW!
i still have their 3cd's they put out and all were very good.lots of great music and good vocalist.i think they are underrated but they must have ran out of creative juices or something.probably the best band for power ballads.by far the most talented metal band of all time is the mighty iron maiden.unfortunately after awhile firehouse gets a bit sappy and boring.maiden music is timeless and pure genius.it's too bad firehouse stopped reaching for the sky but i still like them!
My dream is to hear more artist like this ....Highly doubtful though. No one this day and age could sound so amazing like these guys in concert. It's all synthetic sound now a days. :(
@Jefgg hey,,,, im an old cockrocker from the 80,s live in jersey did the club circuit, with trixter and american angel,, etc,, etc,,,, and i do now work at chi, chi,s:{ j/k about the chi, chi,s part
@bullpentherapy The way things are a lot of people are lucky to have a job at Chi Chi's. I liked El Torito much better. They had great specials in the bar every night. I think I ate and drank them out of business. I met a couple guys from Trixter when they were playing with their cover band Sugarbelly. I was impressed how incredibly nice they were.
Hii Meribeth Menisa,,,, how are you da da da,,,, are you busy with you`re friend,,, what time you will come,,,, nice song to you`re boy friend,,,,, did you meet him ,,,,,,
This is so boring! I justed watched this video for the chorus chord progression. This song could be used to teach basics in music, because it is a no surprise song. every second is predictable, maybe good for the 80's, but thanks they got bored of this kind of sound!
@pailleason Yes it is, it isn't the great thing, it's simple and predictable, but it doesn't matter, I didn't come here for a musical lesson. I like it and that's all.
A total Class Act band...good songwriting, vocals & music. Bill Leverty is such an underrated guitarist. His solo, "Season Of Change" with a Spanish guitar on this album is masterful guitar playing. This band has immeasureable talent. There will always be arguments about music, hair metal vs. grunge and whatnot...to each his own. To me, this is Rock n" Roll, and the '80's had a lot of heart.
Loved this era of music along with 40's through 70's (rock or country). This is one hell of a power ballad and reminds me very my of my wonderful wife!!!!! THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!!!
@Rayman408 so you think that dress up in the tightest jeans ever and teasing your hair bigger than any girl you've seen in the last ten years is more manly than a guitar smashing flanel wearing rock n roll legend?( ya not so much) and whiny vocies thats what the 80s are known for. Not many people are getting into 80s hair music anymore but 90s grunge bands they sell thousands of records each year. #factchecking
@485colt The so called grunge "legends"( LOL) were just guys that didn't have the talent to make it in a real band. Yep, the guys had long hair (it's coming back, by the way) but here's the cool part: They knew how to WASH it! Grunge bands didn't seem to know the meaning of the word "bath". Too lazy to learn to play, too lazy to learn vocal control, to lazy to wash....geez. BTW...Whiney voices equals dynamic range and vocal control.
@ghoulie223 haha thats funny since justin bieber makes better music than about any 80s hair band other than motley crew that ever made it big. haha I'm in high school the only thing thats coming back is the 60s and early 70s with all the real legends hendrix zepplin cash dylan etc and if you tell anyone that kurt cobains acoustic set in the early nintys sucked you are truly deff making personal stabs does nothing to affect the quality of the music chris cornell puts any 80s singer to shame
DONT READ THIS BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY WORKS. YOU WILL GET KISSED ON THE NEAREST POSSIBLE FRIDAY BY THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE. TOMORROW WILL BE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE. IF YOU DO NOT POST THIS COMMENT ON THREE VIDEOS YOU WILL DIE WITHIN TWO DAYS. NO, YOUVE ALREADY STARTED READING SO DONT STOP. THIS IS SCARY. PUT THIS ON FIVE VIDEOS IN THE NEXT 143 MIN. WHEN YOUR DONE PRESS F6 AND YOUR LOVERS NAME WILL APPEAR ON YOUR SCREEN INBIG LETTERS. THIS IS SCARY CUZ IT ACTUALLY WORKS
All decades are unchanged in their first four years...Firehouse proves this by their 80s BS ballad. Go find another love of a lifetime whilst you all sell insurance...ha!

All decades are unchanged in their first four years...Firehouse proves this by their 80s BS ballad. Go find another love of a lifetime whilst you all sell insurance...ha!
