  • CAN SOMEONE SEND ME DA LYRIC PLEASEEEE??????

  • Still gutted they messed it all up again. This is the music they are capable of and really should be making - this DESTROYS everything on Forth and it kills me to think they aren't able to be together. This is the emotion i crave in music.

  • when it all comes i'll be sitting on the throne

we'll be laughing all the way we'll be tripping in a plane

i'll be the sun on the horizon waiting for you to come

won't you come won't you come won't you come

  • The Rosy Cross....

  • Comment removed

  • It sounds a bit like end of the game" bottoms up" by peter green that's a great jam if you have some weed or acid

  • i thought they had got back together? obviously this is old news?

  • Eargasmic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Does anyone have this song as a mp3 version?? I would love this song!

  • NICK McCABE of THE VERVE will play a special set on THURSDAY, the 2nd of APRIL in MANCHESTER!!!

Don't miss NICK McCABE at MARQUEE CLUB @ NIGHT & DAY CAFE with Damo Suzuki of legendary CAN, Mark Heaney on Drums and Jeff Wootton on Bass !!!

Tickets are limited...visit The Black Marquee on My Space for more info ...

    x

  • mcabe rules.

  • @natschavez yeah! i only wish this lacked ashcroft...

  • I very much doubt there was any keys on this demo. Nick tends to loop a segment of work and then play over it with more delay...creating a background ambience, which does sound alot like keys!

    The man's a genius!

  • i agree he's a genius,a god even no one comes close to his guitar playing he creates something special hard to put into words, blue pacific ocean is another stunning song desperate to get a copy of it,hope they make another album and tour, never saw them live.

  • Unfortunately they won't be, as they have broken up. However, Ashcroft is continuing his solo career, and McCabe has, along with the drummer (whose name escapes me) formed a new band.

  • It's actually McCabe and the bassist Simon Jones who are forming the new band - it's called The Black Ships.

The drummer is Pete Salisbury by the way but he has nothing to do with this project. He'll be drumming on Richard's solo stuff.

  • Cool, thanks for clearing that up.

  • yer right there my friend.

  • who played the keyboards

  • this kinda stuff sounds like it fits into the northern soul era, simply orgasmic!!

  • McCabe Jones and Ashcroft are all fantastic, but i think Salisbury has made this song with the drums, nothing too fancy, but some real quality fills and just helps it to keep driving, particularly at the end. as with heaps of bands, the drummer is the most underrated.

  • This is a perfect song to follow the song "Deep Freeze"

  • Top Shelf...McCabe is back!

  • Does anybody has the lyric of the song ? I don't speak the english and I'd like to know the lyric

  • ashcroft is a pure genius man!!!!

  • MCCABE IS THE VERVE!

  • Simply beautiful.

Why the hell didn´t they include stuff like this on the new album!? Unreal

  • By the way, the comment below is a reply to bambyb,Youtube never puts replies in the right places!

  • FUCKING TUNE!!!!

  • this is a blissed out masterpiece bring on the album, canny wait!!!!!!!

  • This is they need to get back in the game: more guitar genius from nick mccabe. otherwise it might well be another ashcroft solo album

  • Mccabe- someone give that guy a medal already.

  • "aside from nearly everything oasis did between 93 and 96, i think the verve have more potential than oasis"

aside from nearly everything the Beatles did between 1962 and 1970, i think the verve have more potential than THE BEATLES?????

  • my favourite band of all time, what a great track. best band i saw at glastonbury

  • Massive Track

  • aside from nearly everything oasis did between 93 and 96, i think the verve have more potential than oasis, they've reached great heighs and maybe can again, and never really released anything bad, whereas oasis peaked so early then haven't really reached those heights again - maybe only live, definitely not on record. I have a feeling the new album won't be that great but that the verve will, if they stay together long enough this time, reach heights again.

  • i reckon both albums will be fucking awesome

  • just...fucking....wow, i cant say love is noise blew me away, sounded way too polished. this is fucking intense, hope this trend continues for them

  • Fab, more like their old selves, long and trippy ...

  • I echo that sentiment, this does sound more like the early Verve, quite dreamy and psycadelic but lacks the same intensity and raw energy of the nineties material.

  • Wow new verve stuff, this is the essence of the verve, like there early stuff, they are fantastic musicians. There`s too much simplistic stuff around[mainsteam wise]the verve always more ambitious, with good influences like can etc. This is dreamy atmospheric, they have a great vibe/chemistry together. Can`t wait for the new album, cheers for this.

  • +1 for mentioning can.

  • this that freakin' "Whitey" the ex-drummer of Oasis? If not, that guy certainly does look like his twin then...

  • haha good call, nick mccabe does look just like alan white

  • Bands like these are rare and like gold. We need more top notch bands like The Verve!

  • this is fucking great reminds me of the hazy, psychedelia of a storm in heaven.a northern soul and urban hymns are excellent albums but their debut is magnificent out of this world there's nothing else like it.

  • So true, a Storm in Heaven is an unbelieveable album, and their songs before the debut album- All In The Mind, Gravity Grave, She's A Superstar, Man Called Sun and the never properly released Change My Life are just as amazing!

  • yer def i think storm in heaven and northern soul are my favourite albums ever but both have got their a few weaker tracks between them. i think the perfect album would be. this is music/star sail/already there/gravity grave/ lifes an ocean/history/northern soul/beutyfull mind/stormy clouds/+(reprise)on yer own/a new decade/a man called sun...fuck that would be an untouchable album..i think their finest moment is between already there and man called sun

  • Anyone got a rough idea when the album will be out?

  • It's definitely out in August mate! Can't wait!

  • oasis to, nice!

  • @smige2 Very soon, I think.

  • sounds kind of like the material on The Verve EP.

  • Rootsy kinda bluesy, Krakatoa, shot off into space. McAbe rules!

  • Yes. Come on come on come on. We need them back...are they gonna save Glastonbury and rouse the spirits of the earth?...avalon will live again...King Arthur will rise from his tomb....bang

  • thrilled to hear the verve's new album will really sound like their old stuff. uh was ashcroft out of control with his empty pop sensibilities.

no one has yet to mention "no come down" yet to the classic verve catalogue. "where the geese go" and "one way to go" are among the best verve songs, imo.

i've listend to a lot of music and no combination of guitar/lead has moved me like nick and richard. they are pure magic together. it's been a long, long wait.

  • Where The Geese Go is sublime. It's criminal that only 1% of people who listen to music will have heard it.

  • Couldn't have put it better myself mate!

  • muitooooo bommmmmmm o sommmmmmm

  • blue is my fav song.was at haigh hall, always liked the early stuff more myself, hope the new songs live up to the hype. For me the verve will always remind me of the 90s.

  • hey, dont forget that many ppl got to know how great the band is only thank to UH. i personally discovered them for me only through UH, cos the Verve was not known in my country b4 this album

  • こんなに強く美しいバンドは他にはいないと思う

    this time!

  • I totally love these guys. I hope the arguments will stay away this time.

  • the verve's old stuff is the best but those posers who keep slagging off urban hymns/ashcroft solo to prove what hardcore fans they are, are full of shit. UH was a great album, half the tunes like catching the butterfly/come on, etc. were leftovers from the second album anyway.

  • spot on, mate.

as has been said at the top, UH got them a new wave of fans and allowed them to get into their music through their back catologue.

while I can't pick a favourite between Northern Soul (which sounds fresher now with the reformation), I came of age to Urban Hymms and so will always hold special memories for me.

A storm in heaven came out before i even began primary school, but it is mindblowing. Verve is verve, and a true verve 'ed will be happy at any success for the lads.

  • couldn't agree more with you guys...

well said...A.S.I.H and A.N.S. are true gems, not 2 say U.H. wasn't great, but i think that the prior 2 were both head and shoulders above Urban Hymns

  • thats mega, and before people start the big slanging war im a fan of the stuff from all over the verve + ashcroft's timeline, from a storm in heaven to keys to the world

  • this's progress. love it!

  • Nothing to do with turning on a band because of their success. i remember going an dbuying urban hymns and being excited before hearing what i thought was over polished tripe pop songs with no heart. Thats just my opinion. Their first two albums still make them my favourite all time band.

  • first heard verve in '92-thought they were a pack of fuckin stoners. next heard them with b.s.symph. went out and got the first e.p. . then northern soul, then storm in heaven, then i listened to urban hymns. this tune aint great, but it's better tan owt on u.h.

  • love this track it's been on my ipod all month. I think Pete and Simon will be the highlights of the next album.

  • great video, thanks.

  • Verve are awesome!!!!!

Everything they've done has been spot on. I saw Ashcroft dec 06 and he was incredible - with his songwriting/voice & with McCabe strumming away the new album is going to be immense. They'll go back to where it all began & pound out their music.

I just hope there's more Verve for years to come yet!!!!!

  • i think richard ashcroft may of released this as a joke because i have heard there old stuff and this sounds nothing like it.

  • i don't think it's supposed to. anyway, i'm trying very hard to like this song. not sure yet...

  • probably trying to find a new style to their next album. This is a preview of that result.

  • well nick's playing sounds as good as ever... can't wait to hear more tracks :-)

  • just got my verve tickets... so excited. does anyone know if they will be doing any new stuff.

  • In Q mag this month, Nick McCabe confirmed that there would be at least two new tunes in the setlist - 'Judas' and 'Sit And Wonder'!!! :D

  • it was joke....idiot

  • Personally I love every single song of the verve, I don' care if they are from A storm in heaven or from Urban Hymns.

And I think Ashcroft's solo career is simply great, I mean, he is the fuckin' best songwriter ever.

  • Anyone know where I can download the full session? NME hasn't got it available for download anymore and can't find anything on limewire

  • the pirate bay

  • u get verve fans, then u get urban hymns fans! thank fck this dnt sound like lucky jam! cmon the verve!!!!!

  • True. Fans of the Urban Hymn singles + Ashcroft solo will not really get or enjoy the new Verve material. You have been warned - the rest of us don't want to hear your moaning when the new genius comes out!

  • I hae both "A Northern Soul" and "Urban Hymns", I think they're on a par to be honest. A Northermn Soul, has History, and Urban Hymns, has Come On.

I hate fans who suddenly turn off from a band just because the band they enjoyed was cult, and then after a successful single they're well known, and they hate them. (The Manics suffered a fanbase like that too, post-Richey James Edwards)

  • It happens a lot with bands, you get all those elitist fans going on about how such a band is underrated when they're at the start of their career and then suddenly when those bands do become succesful those same "fans" start moaning about them becoming overrated. I have all albums by The Verve and a lot of their singles and I love everything they've done. Bring on the new album!

  • Probably the most profoundly brilliant band ever. This piece demonstrates a talent that exceeds expection! Eagerly awaiting the new album. Richard Ashcroft, Simon Jones, Nick McCabe and Pete Salisbury - this was but a far off dream... until The Thaw Sessions.

  • i love ritchard ashcroft, i liked his solo stuff, i went to see him twice, amazing.... but its so good to hear nick macabes trippy rifs again. makes me want to take drugs ...lol xxxx i love you the verve. xxx

  • Glad they have went back to their roots, seein their first gig, will be mental, long live THE VERVE!!

  • Wow it just occured to me. A NEW VERVE ALBUM!!!

  • I downloaded the mp3 last night and I have to say, from what I'm hearing I feel elevated. It's like they've gone back to part of their early catalogue. Can't wait for the new album.

  • wow great choice of vids putting in here with the new music, they just got in a studio and started playing, everything from scratch..just think of how good their planned stuff will be, this is amazing, but more will be even better

  • Legends

  • i love the verve i have everything they have ever done an this apears to be yet another classic come on let the spirits shine

  • go away
