It's in the history books now. The PS2 version is indeed a 2.5D sidescroller. NO I DID'NT BUY IT. I took a trip down to EB after work yesterday to see for myself. I had a look at the back of the box and my heart sunk. I was so hoping I would be wrong. Those photos of the game on Amazon were right all along. I guess it had to happen sometime but I held out hope anyway. Anyone know if the DS version is any good at least?
Hey Captureman, about the DS version it's a side-scroller too in case you didn't know, it looks pretty good I saw some footage of it & it has pretty much the same type of fighting style as the next-gen consoles as far as spidey being able to knock enemies into the air web-zip to them & throw all kinds of cool combos (you can't do that on the PS2 version).The only thing is that the graphics are kinda cartoony but if you don't mind that I say go for it cuz it looks really good & alot of fun.

The developers of this game should have a link from the sites that feature news about this game something like "To know how we really feel about PS2 owners click on the link below" & when you click on it it should have a picture of the development team flipping off the camera & holding a big sign that says "FUCK YOU".

Heck, I got it today. Those pics ARE from the ps2 version. It sucks big time. It has no videos, voices are incredibly plain, like, "just turn this shit off".. I don't know why I kept playing.. Reminded me of Maximum Carnage, which was way better than this.. And the sidekicks, just horrible. It'd have been better not making a version for this platform. Gonna throw it away.
All they had to do was tone down the graphics, take a few things out that would lag or crash the game, and then slap it onto PS2 and PSP format. But no, they had to remake it into a side-scroller just so they could have an NDS version. And then they add 2 extra characters to the NDS while not giving shit to the PS2 or PSP version. The developers of this game should have a link from the sites that feature news about this game something like "To know how we really feel about PS2 owners click on the link below" & when you click on it it should have a picture of the development team flipping off the camera & holding a big sign that says "FUCK YOU".

Sadly I bought the PS2 version thinking to myself "I'll go ahead & give it a chance I mean just because it's a side-scrolling brawler doesn't really mean it's bad even though the PS2 is capable of so much more after all some of my most favorite games are 2D like original "Final Fight" it's sequels all the titles in the "Metal Slug Anthology".But this game totally sucks big wet donkey balls & for ppl that still aren't completly convinced YES it is 2D.DON'T make the same mistake I did don't get it

Yeah, the wii version is exaclty the same as the 360 and ps3, same combos attacks, same game, except the graphics aren't as good, it doesn't look as shiny and crisp. I feel so sorry for the ps2ers since the wii usually gets their ports.

Heck, I got it today. Those pics ARE from the ps2 version. It sucks big time. It has no videos, voices are incredibly plain, like, "just turn this shit off".. I don't know why I kept playing.. Reminded me of Maximum Carnage, which was way better than this.. And the sidekicks, just horrible. It'd have been better not making a version for this platform. Gonna throw it away.

All they had to do was tone down the graphics, take a few things out that would lag or crash the game, and then slap it onto PS2 and PSP format. But no, they had to remake it into a side-scroller just so they could have an NDS version. And then they add 2 extra characters to the NDS while not giving shit to the PS2 or PSP version. I was very excited and was hoping for a PS2/PSP version that would surpass Force Unleashed, but they blew chunks all over it.

Well, lets face it. The PS2 is just about dead. Anyone who wants even a decent new game is going to have to move on to the wii/360/PS3. I am holding out for one more game (Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World) for the PS2 and then I am moving up.

I'm still gonna go to my local EB Games tomorrow to get the game,especially since I reserved it but I'll tell you all 1 thing I changed my mind about keeping it (the PS2 version) especially if it is in fact true about it being a side-scroller.Right after I get the game & the reciept for it I'll look at the back cover for screenshots & if any of them show it as side-scrolling 2.D I'll walk right back to the checkout counter & ask for my money back cuz it just isn't fair.
