  • Lol, that dude did the head shake with cool confidence!

  • I wish afro's were back in style so that we can proove mixed curly hair dont get to do everything .

  • @kkgirl300 Well you could if you tried I suppose.

  • @Ecossaise No , that wouldnt be possible because of the texture of the hair .

  • @kkgirl300 I see. Well there are products out there that would be better for you I think.

  • @Ecossaise I know .

  • @kkgirl300 Keep trying :D hang in there!

  • @Ecossaise Well, you were going to find out this bit of breaking news... Don Cornelius (yes, THAT Don Cornelius) has died. It is the crack of dawn here, and even though I don't know you, you were the first person I thought to say something to.(No, I am neither lonely nor alone, but you would understand better than most) YOU, Ecossaise, brought back a flood of wonderful memories with your postings, using You Tube in a fun way instead of... well, you know. Memories are great, Death sucks. Peace.

  • @MrDoubtfulguest Thank you for your wonderful comment. Yes I was surprised that Mr. Cornelius died! I can only hope that in death he has found some resolution to his problems. I can only hope that he knows how much impact he had made with spreading love, peace and SOUL!

  • @kkgirl300 Well, I wish Afros were back in style, too, and not to prove anything. I just thought they looked great, and THIS white guy will never understand why they went out of style. (Although from what you're saying they sound high maintenance; if true, then why were they also sometimes called "naturals"?) I loved these Afro Sheen commercials, which were to be seen in the early seventies on SOUL TRAIN. Fun times.

  • @MrDoubtfulguest Exactly! :D

  • @Ecossaise Yeah! Post more AS stuff! And I remember some commercials that added: "And don't forget new Ultra Sheen"! (Whatever that was) Then it was back to Don Cornelius on SOOOOUUUUL TRAIN. ( And if you were lucky, Chaka Khan would be on--her Rufus days) Peace, love, Grateful Dead, baby.

  • @MrDoubtfulguest OK :D If I can find things online I will do so - its getting harder to do as the clips aren't as available as they were a few years ago due to copyright issues and such.

  • @Ecossaise Maybe we'll just have to climb into the Sherman and Peabody WABAC Machine and go back to those better days. With me, Baby?

  • @MrDoubtfulguest Why not? I will have to bring a towel to wipe up all of the extra a.s. though lol

  • @Ecossaise It's a date! (And with the WABAC machine, we can go anywhere. Even a taping of SOUL TRAIN!!!!! Dance with me, baby?)

  • @Ecossaise In case you were wondering... Well, your delightful posts got me curious, and I did what you have probably done, and Googled. Johnson Products are still with us, after being owned by Procter & Gamble for a while. It is now in private hands (not the Johnson family), but... NO Afro Sheen! Oh, no! Lot's of Ultra Sheen products for a different look and different times. Oh well, WE have the WABAC machine!

  • Afro Sheen was great stuff, but if your fro got wet, your hair smelled as if it was on fire. Miss my fro though :0)

  • @SgtRock57 Well theres always time to grow it back if you can!

  • @SgtRock57 Oh, so thats what that smell was. I remember that afro sheen smell when some of the kids at school got wet. I would nearly knock you out it was so strong. smelled like something burning.

  • @patrick9648 Yes, it really smelled bad.

  • I'm asian but I want an afro puff.

  • @AIKOAIKOSAN

well Im sure it can be done lol :D

  • " Beautiful people"..."Use Afro-Sheen" (chorus)

  • @blkchk Yes they do! :D

  • they had designs for conrows back then

  • I wanted an afro SO BAD! Our pastor's son had a huge afro my brother and I always wanted. Alas, being white really stood in our way.

  • I want an afro puff and I'm white.

  • lmao its coolio @ 0:20 lol jk great commercial

  • wow @ 0:22 that brothas cornrolls were nice. i didnt even think they were doin cornrolls that detailed back then
