Waldo - Shawnee State Forest Ohio winter hiking / backpacking

Man I was dying to get back out. This forest is just a two hour drive for me, making weekend trips possible. I'm in the planning stages now to do Springer to the Smokies in two trips this spring and early summer. I spotted the owl in the middle of the day hanging out right on the edge of the trail.

Nice to see you were able to fit a trip in this winter. I think one of the coolest bird to see on trail is an owl. They use to zip by me all the time during night hikes. That hasn't happened in awhile.
