This is the most degrading, vulgar, exploitative and sexist commercial I have ever seen. The "girl" is obviously a child, a naked child at that with a huge python slithering all over her body. What has happened to the USA....women and girls are being abused more than ever. TV is filled with anorexic models and ads are more explicit than ever. Wake up everyone. This is not okay.

There's a lot to be said about this commercial. People are always entitled to their opinions, of course. Personally, I enjoy that they used this piece of mythology in the advertisement. It is one of my favorite stories from the monotheistic holy texts, and I say that as someone who is not an adherent to any religion. Every religion has interesting stories if one takes the time to read them.

Second, twisting around the commercial to broadly criticize religion and religious people makes you look pretentious and pseudo-intellectual.
Third, the story itself is not supposed to be sexual or humorous or even 'positive', and yet they are stating that the pomegranate may have been the fruit Eve tempted Adam with, as though that is anything to brag about. I'm not even Christian and I'm not sure what they are trying to say.
Okay. there are so many things wrong with this, but for one thing, I'm fairly certain the pomegranate is not native to Israel or it's neighboring countries. Also, the Bible says nothing about Eve "tempting" Adam. Adam was standing right next to Eve when she ate the fruit, and she just handed him one without a word.

I have a 9 ft Burmese. This commercial shows how passive and eerily cool snakes can be, rather than the vicious presentation in the media. A pet you only feed once a week, bathroom twice a week, quiet, and people pay money to take pictures with her when I go downtown. When was the last time all the neighborhood kids came over to watch your dog eat? For some reason, quite a few girls are attracted to a 9 ft Burmese. :)

Pomegranate- Latin- Seeded Apple. Thats where this comes from. The problem is that the apple in the biblical story was figurative. The idea that there was an actual tree and apple is a children's version of the story. Apples/Pomegranates didn't cause the fall of anything.

Come on guys... its just a commercial... just like 2012 is just a movie and Assassins Creed is just a game... i think there have been worse ads on TV. And i dont think POM means to be disrespectful to all of you who are religious, but rather attempts to be clever when they use such myths to show how FAR this product goes back, and why its so "wonderful". lol evidence to try and back up high prices i guess? :D

However.
Its just a story that amazing people made. Just like this is a commercial, trying to think outside the marketing box. Is it real? Have no idea. Should it be taken so seriously? Absolutely not.

I'm just pointing out they're giving a TERRIBLE example of why you should drink the fruit. It would be like saying "In so and so mythology, it was said the evil Lord Shredder drank Pom to be a cunning and powerful warrior." Artistic value? My cousin's sister's friend's hairy *** on a Wednesday evening! This is not artistic! That's dumb, and who thought it was an apple to start with? This is nasty and I don't want to see it when I'm trying to watch the news. Why would you want to eat it if it caused the fall of man? I can't believe the nasty comments made in response to the Eve commercial. Is there anybody out there with a sense of beauty, taste and mythological understanding? It is one of the most unique and tastefully done ads on the entire TV nTetwork. I guess all of you out there are used to only appreciating garbage. Sex seems to be the major issue people have with this clip. Can't you all look beyond the woman's anatomy and just see the artistic value of this ad? Typical fundamentalist close minds

Basically if you drink this you are in some form paying homage or respect to the devil. This fruit is a representation of the temptation that led to the fall of man kind. To advertise and sell this product on this behalf is revolting.

This drink is evil. Don't drink it. I seen this on TV and was shocked as to how they could advertise something so blasphemous. Glad to see every other person picked up on this. Pomegranate- Latin- Seeded Apple. Thats where this comes from. The problem is that the apple in the biblical story was figurative. The idea that there was an actual tree and apple is a children's version of the story. Apples/Pomegranates didn't cause the fall of anything.

There's only a handful of black and white commercials out there. With the advent of HD and all, it's nice to step back and bring out the classic beauty in films. Here's to Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Herb Ritts, Ansel Adams and all the great image makers that were my inspiration.
