You've obviously never done any psychedelic drugs. Regularly, your brain puts up filters to deal with everyday tasks, because there's simply too much information to handle in even the simplest things. LSD and other psychedelics inhibit this filter, and allow you to see things in a completely different light. Things that didn't matter before can take on new meaning. Check out the "Mind at Large" concept proposed by Aldous Huxley, he offers the best explanation (besides dropping LSD yourself).
