  • This voids your warranty, but heh, it's probably worth it if it's a pre-2008 or so Xbox 360.

  • i bet your xbox 360 is fried now. :)

  • how do you install the fan control thing.

  • Or you can use external fans and remove the old one. Mine moves about 60CFM :D and it is cool to the tough after 6 hours of Gears of War 2, Armored Core For Answer, and Mirror's Edge.

  • So you solder the wires you soldered together to two different places?

  • very nice and all.

but MS stated that u shudnt use any mods that draw power away from your 360.

  • hi, MS say alot of things. Usually about stuff they knowanything about. this is a proven method that i have used on a console that has ran flatout for two years ad no problems. Ok so is noisy, but the temperature is reduced by 70% keeping the mainboard from warping under heat. 2 years running sweet prooves the 12v draw does nothing to the console. hope this helps and dont be afraid to get it done. ps. i did my console straight out of the box, didnt care about warranty.lol.

  • is ur warranty voided dude?

  • very loud

  • LOUD...only when you use STOCK fans, recommend you use TALISMOON fans, as per video clip.

  • LOUD

  • legal pra kct! legal mesmo

  • sweet to bad im not rich

  • 30bucks

  • dude awesome

  • hey dude nice,

what dimension fans fit the 360?

  • only stock fans and the talismoon fans will fit, there is also a an XCM set of fans that will fit. I dont recommend you attempt to install any other type.

  • como le pongo eso

  • seems a good mod but this guide doesnt make sense, it says cut the red and brown wires and solder them together. then solder another red wire to this and put that in your inlet on the controller. then it says conect the two wires you soldered together and attach them to your output. what the hell

  • yes thats right. there is an INLET and OUTLET power wire TO and FROM the Fan Controller. If you cant understand the method...dont attempt it. its really only for those with wiring and soldering experience. cheers.

  • dudeee.. mod my 360 man

  • sweet!

  • dude u suck that thing looks bad ass

  • Most impressive. What was the CPU/GPU heat after the mod was completed compared to stock heat?

  • Minimum temperature reduction was 10degrees and max was 15degrees , on both. its a good idea to tape up any gaps between the "air tunnel" and the motherboard and fans, this gives a much better air suction vacuum and assists cooling.

  • your a genius

  • brilliant pics cheers

  • do you have a better picture of the live 12v feed for the fans??

  • I can email you one but need your email.

  • Don't tell that guy your email, i think he is one of the spammer people.

  • do you have an after market small heat sink, and if you do where could i get one?

  • Sorry mate, i havent heard of an aftermarket heatsink for it yet, unless you get one from out of a broken "new" 360, they have improved the gpu one.

  • where can i get one of those? o.o

  • just do a google search for xbox 360 mods

  • i so need one of thos...i got a intercooler and the power thing that goes in the back to power up the 360 get really really hot when it turns off on me...two red rings

  • I think you made a good tutorial I didn't know the stock fans weren't running @ 12V. My question is: are the Talismoon fans already modded to run at 12V ? And does it really makes a difference in operating temp ? Anyways great looks I've been thinking of getting some too !

  • hi, yes fans run at 12v. the standard unmodded 360 will auto-control its basic stock fans, but this most often inadequate to keep it cool enough. My way allows you to keep the fans going at any speed you want up to ,and no further than full speed. The talismoon fans displace a good bit more air than standard fans too. to do this right, you really should do the thermal paste part as well. once this is done, say goodbye to overheating issues. Mine is an a cupboard and stays cool. cheers.

  • oh and one more thing, read ppl's comments too on that video

  • Oh, one one other thing, Im posting my video clip to help others to have "freedom of choice" on how they choose to correct their overheating issues. I do not appreciate being called "dumb", Since you are in the mood for critisism, im now guessing you are some 12 year old with too many zits and too much free time to surf the net without your daddy watching ? but like i said , im only guessing :)

  • if you want to see what it looks like, this guy explains it and shows u both of them. So many ppl on youtube like the EX model, they say guarantee no melt. Do exactly this, type in "Nyko Intercooler" in the youtube search. then pick the 3rd video, it should say "Nykno Intercooler EX Review." he shows u the stupid 1st generation plastic connector, iono even know why Nyko did that in the first place. If u do what i say with intercooler and extra fan, its 15-20 degrees cooler than normal.

  • i think the Nyko Intercooler and a hole in the case above the CPU with a fan is much better than this. this looks like ull still get the red ring of death.

  • I beg to differ friend, ive seen about 15 consoles bith burn marks at the connector and nyko fan failures. I have tried various methods. My method works and works well. please note, you need to watch the whole clip as this is not just a "stick some fans in" job, there is a bit of internal soldering to do along with thermal pasting the cpu & gpu coolers.

  • omg, u really are dumb are u? they just released the Nyko Intercooler EX model(2nd generation intercooler with metal connecters and no on/off switch). There has not been a single failure in the U.S. with that new intercooler. the Nyko Intercooler 360(1st generation) has melted hundreds of xboxs). EX and 360 model both look the same but they have 3 different things about them.

  • If im so "dumb" how come you are the one watching/reading my video on the issue ? How many consoles have you repaired 100% successfully ?

  • exactly what is your reasoning for "assuming" this will get the ring of death ?? funny thats the first one i did has been going for 2 years without ANY overheating issues.

  • the nicest one ive seen

  • Has Microsoft fixed these problems now? I know they put a 3 year warranty on it, but have they corrected everything? PLease respond. Im getting an Xbox soon and now im a little nervous. lol.

  • Hi, there is a new XBOX360 being released very soon, with HDMI output as standard. We can only hope and pray the BILL has sorted out hiss silly mistakes with its predecessor....otherwise, ill be posting the same cooling method for it, lol.

  • wack

  • bro thats a shit mod juss take off the protective layer of tin foil and ur good

  • Yeah, that would have made some difference had it actually had foil under the heatsink... :) This has worked on every console ive done, and they all had overheating issues before hand. i wish i had taken before and after temperature readings to put your mind at ease :)

  • Nice mod I like it.

  • ok so when i see Microsoft i think of one person BILL GATES one of the richest men in the world whos using crappy parts in HIS Xbox 360's i find that to be unexceptable

  • i agree. only for the fact that modding consoles is easy for me, i would never have kept my xbox360. its a shame that many owners have had to resort to this type of "fixing" , just to keep the damn thing at the right temperature. Bill gates obviously thought everyone lives in Antartica !!! he mustn't get out of the office much !! lol

  • I love the blue light. How'd u do it?

  • the fans are clear with blue leds, available from divineo co uk

  • alot of work on a console that should not need it thay should have made them better with better fans man am happly with the ps3 but it looks kool kindof but still like m ps3 only console a have ever had ps1 ps2 and ps3 and am not a fan boy a use wat am used 2

  • isent the fan in the 360 loud with out adding 3 more why did microsoft build a 360 that over heats in the first place .PS3 anyone no fan noise no overheating free online play blue ray cheek out the vids on my page and leave a commont on what u think

  • Clever abd looks easy thanks :D

We need more people like you and less of the ones that cry and break shit cause it's broken (Over heatin)

  • thanks for that. i done it with 3 consoles now and not one of them even gets warm. ok theyre a bit noisey when running full blast, but mine is in a cupboard and makes no difference, lol. cheers, Brian.

  • for how long has this been working and does the thermal paste help alot? do you need to be a complete pc nut to do this?

  • I'll be honest, this isnt for the faint-hearted, you need a certain degree of soldering skill and some knowledge of basic electronics. taking apart your 360 can be a bit fiddly, any mistakes and its all over. Ive been working with consoles and pc's for 25 years so its fairly easy for me. If your not confident doing it, dont. cheers.

  • realy nice i like it

  • all your really doing is changing the fans but it looks goodn the fact that u can change the speed of them makes it a good solution
