Yeah thats Lana and Clark saves her with Jor-el's help but at a price. He saves her but then someone has to take her place and that person is his father Jonathan.
If you like smallville you have got to see those two episodes, they are the sadest episodes of Smallville in my opinion but they display it so well. They are "Reckoning" and "Hidden"

This is sad but uplifting too because we usually have some loved ones left and they are angels too. Also I think we are so blessed to have such talented actors that can really move us with real emothion on prime time.

He has a heart attack, after he gets in a fight with Lional Luthor. It was really sad.
