Wow that is great, you dont see that many blowouts like that anymore. I wish I had been there to see it. One good thing the BP worked like it was suppose to. You would
have thought they would have had an idea it was coming .
@Landcruiser45 haha, funny. I meant, why is he filming, and not helping the giant spill and such? Also, why was he filming it, if he didn't know it was going to blow out?
@verymodestperson They had the problem under control pretty fast. Any help the camera man would have tried would have been too little too late. That's why they have blow out preventers on the well.
this is kinda strange...if you look there seems to be no bop in the sub, and like others stated no blocks or drill line...blow out maybe...rig looks pretty mangled..but why the sudden surge and then it stops....weird shit happening there.
@RockManAU You totally have no idea whats actually going on here. There is no blocks, string etc. Something's up... probably an Enform Training video or something.
maybe incident is correct word for this.. my dad has been working for total (french oil company) based in Kalimantan, Indonesia for more than 25 years..he said well this is one of the risk that we had to take in order to find oil reservoir....
your gay...its not the formation of the earth collapsing dude. the column of fluid holding back the formation pressure did not work for one reason or another. they either ran into higher pressures than expected or derrick man was sleeping on the mud sacks instead of mixing them, that would be my guess.definitely not "the formation collapsing" and if i offended you sorry...just blame it on armageddon
hi everyone. I dont realy know too much about the oil business and so i am wandering why you do this with the wells? Would someone be kind enough to explain to me why? thanks

i have a few questions....
is the oil under that much pressure or what...
i thought a blow out was an accident type thing...how did you know it was gonna happen...
if it was a planned thing what is the point ...

lucky the engineers could stop the flow from the reservoir, or else this disaster could have been even worse

Hmm, is it really a desaster? Seems more like an ordinary thing, though not wanted, but no desaster.
I don´t know....

@isegrinns yes this could be a disaster if not stop because its not good if that happens.

Someone is going to update his resume for this. LOL! Can anyone explain to me what stops the blowout? BOP stacks?
Orientalmentor 2 years ago
Very impressing!

Must have been hard, dangerous and quite scary times for the people who worked the derricks in the old times.
