I loved this show when it first aired on cbs back in the 60's had a big crush on Dawn Wells i have all the episodes on dvd but could not understand why they never released the 3 movies on dvd with them but saw they had the one movie rescue from gilligan's island out on dvd but not a good quality picture and saw the harlem globetrotters on gilligan's island on tv but never saw the third one anybody heard or know where you can get the 3 movies on dvd or any plans to release them in the future?
According to Russell "Professor" Johnson's book, the cast enjoyed the shows where they got to dress up, especially for dream sequences or daydreams, and play different characters.
YES,THIS IS PRICELESS ! Greatest Cast Ever on TV ! So Glad I have all 98 epys on DVD. And my Five year old grand son is hooked on GI now just like me,He wants to see it every day! Thank You! The Greatest Cast Ever!
miss this show.... my 4 absolute fav epiys were them changeing bodies with the other one havein there voice...gilligan gettin bit by a vamp bat and he thought he was dracula...they eat the radio active vegetables and get powers...and the voodoo priest who makes the dolls of the gang...and the song YOU NEED US... YOU NEED US, like a flower neeeds a bee....
the smiles of the cast are priceless.good times for good people.Gilligans island after school after captain cosmic cartoon on ch.2 ktvu sn francisco late 70's was "homework before play time"
This is incredible.I remember watching Gilligan's Island in syndication late sixties early seventies every day after school on UHF channel WUAB 43 Cleveland when i was a kid along with many other classic tv shows of the sixties.Love those classic tv shows.
I used to come home from school when I was 8, make a glass of cocoa and milk, and drink it teaspoon by teaspoon through two reruns of Gilligan's Island -- one on channel 12 and one on channel 2. Lucky boy !

This show caused a very athletic kid who was usually outside to do something he wanted to do more - stay in and watch TV. Thank you Mr.Schwartz, we will miss you.
the musics melancholy(i think thats the right word) but perfect for the clip. i cant believe its been almost 50 years since the original episodes. the clip does bring tears to my eyes as well, cuz theyre almost all gone now. great talents and great television.
LOVE IT. Moved me to being a little teary eyed. This show was part of the happiest memories of my childhood. Along with I Love Lucy, Gilligan's Island had THE MOST perfectly cast ensemble of any television show in history. Everyone of them just precious.
Nice footage. Good to see it again! If I am not mistaken, this footage, not the music was seen at the end of the TV movie made about ten years ago about the making of the series. I think the title was "Surviving Gilligans's Island, the Longest Three-Hour tour in History" and Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) produced it. I think the original music was "What a Wonderful World."
@ghostfanX2 You are correct! The original music in the made for tv movie was "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, but in the DVD "Surviving Gilligan's Island.....tour in History" the music was changed to something else, and it wasn't as nice as Armstrong's song. In 1:47, Thurston is about to kiss Lovey, and Lovey replies with Skipper's voice "If you kiss me, I'll beltcha"! Funny stuff. Thanks for posting this wonderful clip of very special people!

This was the beginning of dumbed down TV programming. It was not interesting or funny.

At 1:45,they were running through the scene
where Mr. Howell was going to kiss Mrs. Howell.
While she mouthed the words, the Skipper's
voice said,"you kiss me and I'll belt you!"
It was funny watching them all react to that run
through.....and I bet it probably took several takes,
before they got the giggles out enough to finish it!
