That's definitely a valid argument, mhirtes. Widespread famine may definitely exist for those who are unable to eat due to extended inclimate weather and/or lack of local resources. I think it is important to keep her theory in mind, though. Obviously, not all areas are able to eat strictly locally, but learning how to farm (if it is able to be), utilize, and appreciate the land that is available in a sustainable way is extremely important.
Does this snooty, deluded woman even THINK about the massive global FAMINE that would result if mass-produced food didn't exist? Children should NOT be deprived of a vitamin C simply because they were not blessed enough to have been born in a temperate climate for oranges like Ms. Waters was.
Also, I wonder how long California would last if Colorado decided to keep it's water to itself locally? Let's see you try growing your snobby little garden with NO WATER, Alice, ya ditzy hypocrite!
@mhirtes12, i'm not sure if you know this but vegetables can be grown in other parts of the world. I know you're an American snob and you probably think vegetables were invented in America, but darling, pull your brainless fucking head out of your ass.
