  • This was my first impression of the Flecktones. Now I'm hooked.

  • Grew up around and playing with Vic and Futureman in the same area. I remember when Bela heard Vic play. He grabbed him up instantly. We had and still have some tough musicians in the area.

I don't where he pick up Jeff, but I'd hate to have him blow me away in front of a crowd.

  • Jeff Coffin!!!!! Holy Crap!!!!!

  • i guy does not have any ears sucks for him. jeff is also a beast playing two saxophones at once

  • And Béla joins in seamlessly with his own interpolations. Master musicians, all of them!

  • 17/8 actually sounds really really fun to wail in.

  • Is Mr. Fleck becoming the love child of Benny hill and 'arry potter ?

  • no, its not 4/4 and 9/8. its 17/8, 7 groups of 2 eighth notes and that bad ass group of 3 at the end of each measure.

  • @brespain yeah i count 9 1/2 / 8 ... :)

  • anyone who plays in 17/8 goes up a few steps in my opinion of awesomeness

  • 4/4 and 9/8 = 17/8 yay math

  • Hilarious Giant Steps turnarounds from Vic in the background

  • thumbs up if you jizzed

  • THE JAM OF 17/8 UMMMMMMAAAAH !!

  • HOLY CARP JEFF COFFIN WAS PLAYING TWO FREAKIN SAXES!!!!! TWO!!! AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!

  • @Emelie99 I see him smiling and getting into the music. Not frowning.

  • WHY IS THAT ONE DUDE A PIRATE!?

  • @lilgmichael That would be Futureman. He plays the Drumitar.

  • @rockinredneck57

I've figured that out since but still thanks :)

  • @lilgmichael Did you know he's Victor Wooten's (the bass player) brother? Pretty talented family!

  • @rockinredneck57

    I did indeed

    more than just pretty talented!

  • 17/8 time? Holy garbage. That's crazy.

  • not exactly Lawrence Welk is it? terrrrrific!

  • simply amazing..

    nothing more to add..

  • Victor is the man! from my home town too. I met him back in 94 when i got on a drumset and next thing i know is this silly little guy plugs in and goes off in a epic manner, little did i know he was doing a bass clinic here in Norfolk at A,L & M that day.

  • Bloody hell 1:13 is orgasmic!!!

  • EARgasmic*

  • ye something like this, so conceptually brilliant, complex, or just plain awesome could actually cause many of those tiny brains of your average mainstream fan to go into a coma, or even be fatal. they can only handle the same simple stuff done over and over by different people.

  • ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo o. no puee ser que termine, tiene que seguir por siempre...

  • Only 9420 views??? This music is WAY too good for people to not know about it.

  • People are way into mainstream music these days. It's kind of depressing.

  • ahh man that line victor does is soo awsome

  • i guessed the time signature of this at one of Jeff's Mu'tet concerts and he threw me a t-shirt! He's a real nice guy

  • where can i have this concert pleaseeeeeeeeeee

  • Jeff Coffin is a god and Victor Wooten is the best bassist alive today... And i mean seriously, who jams in 17/8 time? Lmao. Amazing.

  • my dad heard jeff coffin when the flecktones where on conan and he said he made kenny g look tired (although its not that hard to do now a days...sorta).

  • true!

hey is it really ONLY 17/8 time? i mean when bela joins in.... not only? ^^ dunno!

  • @titotrevino66 Whilst i completely agree that they're champions at what they do, 17/8 isn't all that alien of a signature, it's just three 4's and a 5

  • @titotrevino66 sounds like alternating 4/4 and 9/8 you fucking RETARD

kidding kidding i actually have no idea how they wrote it

you're right these guys are gods among. they remind me of a jazz version of the band dream theater. not only because of all the odd time signatures they use, but just because of the quality of the musicians.

  • @titotrevino66 thank you! i was trying to figure out what was the time signature .. is it really 17/8? it's insane!

  • Bela tone is too amazing

  • 17 / 8
