  • usually with that scoring on the piston you'd expect the rings to be seized up in the grooves. am amazed you got that kinda compression nice video

  • @mckinzi1 So was i. Thanks for watching!

  • been seeing alot of stuff online where people say they cant find the owners manuals for homelite saws. i dont know how for back they go but i found the manual for my 33cc ranger on their site.

  • @IMKINDOFABIGDEAL13 I think I checked but I can't remember. I think Homelite is now owned by a Chinese company that also make Ryobi. Wish it was still made in the USA, and owned by the same company. Thanks for watching!

  • @smallengineshop that sucks....what happened to the good ol " made in usa" logo we were proud to display?

  • 58cc's of power, automatic oiler system with manual pump, 3 shoe clutch. uses 3/8 pitch chain. if you tell me the serial number i can tell you what year it was made.

  • @tribulation138 How do you decode the serial number?

  • @smallengineshop You have a 9 digit serial number. The second one in from the left I believe is a 8 ? If it is you have a 1978 chainsaw saw. If it was a 8 digit serial number the first number would coordinate the year.

  • @tribulation138 The decoding only works for the older Homelites not new ones

  • @tribulation138 Thank you for the information. Useful!

  • you should hold on to that saw. its a classic and work horse. ive worked on plenty of them

  • I really like your videos man. Keep up the good work. In another video you said you clean before working on them. What degreaser do you use and what mild brake cleaner. Awesome videos dude. I really enjoy looking for them.

  • @andybcumming1 Thanks! I think the last degreaser I used was call Simple Green. You can dilute it with water and change its strength. I buy the cheapest brake cleaner i can find. I don't use it very often, and when I do, I rinse it off with water immediately after it takes off the grease. You can also use diesel fuel to clean off grease and grime. Thanks for watching.
