  • Lol.. our does this and she is only 2 years old. the seem to have a genetic condition when they get excited or eat where their esophagus collapses and isn't a concern unless they reallt can't breathe.......

  • Im selling pom puppies call me or text me at 7863189637

  • Hi

my pom did the same thing. Took her to vet fast. It was her heart. He put her on medication for her heart. She lived for about a year and pasted away This Oct 7.2011

You really need to get to the vet fast.

  • 10 as well!

  • My dog looks just like yours!! Except mine is like 11...

  • You dog needs reqular medication for the coughing.

My pom had the same but was put on half a tablet a day by the vets and was much better after that.My dog took the medication for the rest of his days he lived until he was 11 yrs old

  • What a beautiful dog lovely colours

  • Well thats not good. Get rid of the cologne! Whats wrong with people? Geez. I had to give up pinesol for my dogs because they couldn't breath like that.

  • yeah my pom holly does this, i always panicked when she started doing it and comforted her but she is 14 now and it still happens now and again so it musn't be anything serious

  • HI coughing is a trait of the breed. Pomeranians have very small bronchial tubes and as they get older, coughing can become more and more common. You might want to, since he's getting older, ask your vet about giving him some sort of children's dose of allergy medicine. That will help with irritants that may cause flare ups. He's beautiful!

  • He's turning 10 in November.

  • @monsteroe Mine black pameranian is also almost 10. But she is very atletic fun and does not look old. how is yours?

  • How old is he in this video?

  • oh look a mini chow

  • My pomeranian does this when she runs.

  • From all the comments, it seems to be quite common. He did stop breathing like that when we took him out and away from the cologne. But if you're really concerned, go see the doctorrrrrr....

  • I also have a pom puppy, he is 12 weeks now, and recently he started to do the same thing, like he wants to throw up but he cant...Do you think it's usual for small breeds?

  • lol my dog does that all the time i have a long haired chihuahua ^-^

  • our pom sneezes too....not like that though. never heard that poor baby.

  • instead of taking a video ------the dog should have been removed from what was causing his distress

  • @Autumnwinds7 I agree. A lot of videos on youtube seem unnecessarily cruel and uncaring , very immature and common nowadays...most people are heartless and cold even to their own family members. This video is one of thousands on here making fun of some poor sweet animal's distress and I hate it. Now watch the up-loader send me a hate message or something LOL. Just speaking the truth people!

  • My Dog Does That ALOT!

  • Looks JUST like my dog!!!!!!!!

  • HAHHAHAAHA i do the same when i put on my perfume in the morning^^

  • it really looks like he has a hairball

  • He is beautiful.. where did you find him? i want one but alot of them dont have correct coat texture, its too silky.. let me know where you found him please

  • I think the vet calls that "colapsed trechea" i think i spelled it wrong but anyways. it usually happens to most little dogs. I heard it from the vet and dogs 101 on animal planet :) Its not life threatening or anything.

  • @maharley27 .....Dr. Skinner told me the same thing about my little one. she lived to be 14 so I don 't think it was too bad. she knew how to get attention with it.

  • such a pro color combo. but what is he doing?

  • oh i hate it when they do that pom breathing. it scares me.

  • I act the same way when someone wears too much cologne.

  • soo cute

  • Poor poor baby

  • This is normal to poms like blood disorders are normal for a royal family.

  • Awww, poor thing... x3

  • that is reverse sneezing, my pomsw do it a lot, very common for them but very scary too

  • when mine does that i neel down and say breath in breath out untill hes good

  • AWWWWW he's soo cute.. I had one just like that...same color and everything looked like a little teddy bear <3 i love it... dijon and ze sneezing <3

  • poor puppy...

  • poor thing.

  • my daughter has a pommy that does the same thing

  • my pomeranina does that too, the weird breathing thing=((

  • why subject us to that horrible noise!

  • aww, what a cutie, even with his sneezing fit =)

  • aww pour baby!!!!! :'(

  • WTF?

  • poms tend to get a collapsing trachea.. my gf's dog has it.. its in their mother nature.. take your pup to the vet to see how severe it could be

  • Adorably Sweet and Cute :)

  • Just blow in its nose, gently obviously... It'll stop having the attack

  • OMG WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT !!! D:

  • You guys are all wrong! Poms are always doing that coughing noise.

  • Its called callapsing tracia. I dont know hoe to spell that, but any ways, my sisters chihuahuas did that also. So at the vet, we asked what caused these symptoms of weezing. Vet said it's predomintanlty in small dogs. It shouldn't hurt them very much but if its out of control and your little pooch cant breath get it to the vet.

  • my pom is 3mos. old! but that doesnt happen to him!! i always give him vitamins and put him on exercise!!, hope my dog wont have that syndrome^^, neweiz, nice dog.

  • 1st ur dog is beautiful and soooo cute!! 2nd since this video is 2 years old I hope you got ur dog checked to see if it was a Collapsed trachea which is known in POMS because they are a Toy breed it can happen, my POM is 13 weeks and at this point don't have that I really hope she never does....Thanks for posting the video.

  • My 3 year old pomeranian does the same thing. Took him to the vet and found out he actually had cushings syndrome or cushings disease. Mostly senior dogs get it but my dog has the early stages of it. Took a 8 week treatment and currently takes medicine twice a day and he doesnt do the same coughing like thing as much. Its not fatal but you should get it checked out especially if they do it alot. It is a little expensive with blood tests, and medicine, but worth it.

  • my does the same thing and we find barf on the floor

  • poor thing. Very cute though

  • probably hairball

  • Sounds like a collapsed trachea; my Pom has it and now is on heart medication from the stress that the collapsed trachea puts on the heart. Not enough oxygen to her heart and it's making it work overtime. Had 2 xrays and an echocardiogram to verify that the trachea was collapsed. Not much else to do, surgery not a good success rate. Have your vet check it out.

  • i would seriously check out that noise thing and get it seen to even if u do think most dogs get it. just to be on the safe side.

  • probably a hairball! or kennel cough.

  • my Pomeranian makes the same noise, somebody knows the reason?

  • the poor baby is sick!

  • :(aw

  • thats kennel cough you dick fuck, i work at a vet, get it checked out

  • It sounds like a collapsing trachea to me, poms are prone to them

  • Sounds like congestive heart failure.

  • ma povero, questo cane ha del pelo in gola!!!! aiutatelo per carità!!!!

  • aww it's normal for little dogs to have that. i have 3 poms of my own

  • Was he caughing?!

  • Aw, he looks like my dog did when he was still only a few months old. :D

  • aw he has blonde eye brows it looks like

  • i once had a pomeranian that had it's tongue turned blue when it got so excited.. i almost thought that it will die on me.. @_@

  • i had one almost like this but with a lil more white on him he died this past feburay

  • Maybe water in the nose

  • Dont feed for them hard and big foods, they will have that. Giving them small and dry food. That`s best for Pomeranians !

  • it does NOT need help. idiot. they always do that

  • Yes, you're quite right. Because of their flat tracheas they will "sneeze" much more often than other breeds.

It does not mean the owner has done something wrong, sometimes my little Hazelnut (also a pomeranian) randomly breaks into sneezing entirely out of the blue xD

  • Well put! ^_~* It is called "reverse sneezing" and is completely normal for Pomeranians. My little pom does it too! Especially when he gets really excited! lol

  • I have a Black pomerainian too!

  • my dog does this, the docs said she was sneezing

  • fur ball? my pom had puppys one looks very similar now i know she will be so cute

  • OMG....help the little guy...i feel so sad for it...OMG...it needs help!

  • omggg i love the colors of your pom. i neeed ittt. i want a 2nd pom

  • My dog used to do this and he was finally diagnosed with allergies. He's on a antihistimine and never does this anymore.

  • all of you people who takes every little thing so sentively probably has no life and sit infront of your computer all day, studying what they are doing wrong, and complaining.

  • huh thats not healthy! my pom dosent do that its kinda kyoot tho :)

  • my vet told me that, since they are so low to the ground, they pick up more dust. Plus, some poms have a problem with breathing tubes. They breath like that when they get over excited

  • That's exactly what the vet told me about my pom. Everytime I come in the door he gets excited and does that. The vet offered antihistamines but I said no. He lived for 17 1/2 years. I finally had to say goodbye last year . . . He actually looked just like this little guy in the vid.

  • My little pom does this same thing. At this point out vet did not think it was severe enough to require medication, unless it syptoms get worse. Some tips we were given to help when she does this is to very softly blow into her nose or to gently pinch her nose closed. She was a also a little chunky at 7 lbs so we got her wieght down to 5-6 pounds and it made a big difference. Poms are just the best little dogs and your is just so cute! Hope this helps.

  • Those are symptoms of a collapsed trachea, a health problem found almost exclusively in Toy and other miniature dog breeds. It's very common, the condition usually can be managed with medication and restricted activity. There is also a surgical procedure for severe cases. A lot of times if a dog is overwieght, just losing 1-2 pounds can lessen the severity. In worst cases, the dog's tongue and gums turn blue and acute attacks require hospitalization.

  • omg poor door htis is cruel

  • Yeah, chemicals are very harmful to pets... ever since I got my poms, I've been more careful not to keep any toxic things in my house; I don't paint my nails anymore either.

Take better care of him... he is too cute!!

  • poor dog i think

  • well if hes having a reaction get him out of the room! whats your problem? he could die if he does that for over a minute! look it up freak!

  • Dogs noses are waaaay more sensitive than ours, so to Dijon, it probably smells nasty, and is making it harder for him to breathe( you know when your putting on deodorant, and it gets in your face? Imagine that times ten XD Chemicals)

  • yeah i think its the cologne. my puppy does da same when i put on some perfume or use aroma around the house.

  • why wud u want 2 show this? cant you put something nice of him on?

  • Sometimes my pup does this as well.

  • whats wrong with him!?

  • I don't know, but he only started to act like that when my friend put on some cologne in the morning. He's probably allergic to it or something. He was okay after when we left the house.

  • @monsteroe You shouldn't put it again, your dog need a better environnement then that! Think of him

  • @monsteroe when poms and other small dogs get over worked or smell something really strong they do this thing it's called reverse sneeze, it's not harmful, it's just a reaction. But it's still a good idea to like try to relax him when it's happening

  • @melissaa456

he could also have a reverse cough. I was volunteering once and a dog did that.

  • @melissaa456

my pom does this too when she runs outside. pomeranians are bred very small which makes their trachea's too small to handle much. it's sad. I've decided when I get a pomeranian some day, I will get one that is bred more medium size. even though the small ones are cute, it's hard to see ours go through that on a daily basis.
