This was when Kareem was mad that Magic and the team celebrated this win. Kareem doesn't get enough credit for his veteran leadership that he brought to the Lakers.
Man, I miss the true NBA centers. Shaq was the dominant center of his era mainly because all other 7 footers wanted to play facing the basket and be power forwards. If Shaq played during the Kareem's era, there's no way he'd be as dominant. In fact, Kareem would own Shaq with his sky hook.
I watched this live. Abdul-Jabbar was pushed out to the free-throw line before he received the ball, but still made the shot. Kareem was the GREATEST center of all time bar none!
he made a lucky shot in '86 i don't think even the lakers could believe they lost that game and their season because of that shot. it helped drive them as they came back the next year and we never heard from ralph sampson again.
Kareem to Magic- We have 81 more games, quit choking me!

No one but The Great Abdul Jabbar could have made that shot! Sky-Hook from the free throw line!

You are very right! Shaq would have had headache every time he played against Kareem. I guess he would have fouled out soon as well.

I just checked that video out. That shot was crazy! To shoot without even facing the basket... Ralph Sampson FTW!
