  • two thumbs up... great work

  • Admirable work dude! Totally worth the effort you put to it! Great!

  • @vlsi60 thanks

  • Hey dude what is the name of the classical piece that you have played?

  • @ymeii Pagannini's 5th caprice - it is an arrangement of this piece

  • Comment removed

  • Concert Reverb.

  • Awsome job man. How long did it take you to be able to play it fast?

  • @Meek4Weeks Hi, thanks

It actually took a few years from initially learning the piece to be able to play it properly.

  • @alexandermcknight Hey, you wouldn't happen to have the tabs to this, would ya?

  • @alexandermcknight ha ha ha.....the truth be told :-) This great performance didn't come to you in a dream one night; you had to work a few years in your own words. I have this to say about your efforts.....well done and the effort has paid off - this is fantastic and wonderful. I love the way you have done this. You must be proud that you can play this so well. Bravo! Dave

  • @dreganism hi - thank you so much for your comment, I appreciate it. It is rewarding to play something like this yes.

  • Hey! well done man. You just got your soul back from the devil.

  • @spamount028 thanks very much ha ha ha

  • werw easy with the reverb dude ;)

  • hey man just wondering why the audio and video are out of sync.sounds good though

  • @jimmyman6064 Yeah there might be a slight audio delay which I think is just due to a software issue with Youtube or the file type perhaps. Not 100% sure.

  • @insaner338 How sad do you think I am to sit in front of a webcam and pretend I'm playing a guitar solo? I have worked hard on practising this piece and can asure you it isn't fake.

  • do you have tabs? i really want to know how to play this. you are amazing

  • are you sweeping at the start 0.16-0.21?

  • Yes I am sweeping, although it can be played 'non sweeping' as well though.

  • willl you do a lesson plz

  • nice job..

  • Awesome mate, bravo!

  • ok...just to settle the spelling debate, its climactic.

  • I'll settle this debate. I never spelled any of the words in this description wrong. Someone thought I used the word 'climatic' thinking that I thought it meant 'climactic'. I have already pointed out that I can discern between the two words and their meanings.

I didn't intend the description to say 'climactic', I intended it to say 'climatic'(as written). The word 'climatic' denotes the atmosphere and mood the solo creates at the end of the film in which it was played.

  • Damn...burned... xD haha and nice job on the solo. SOLIDDD :D

  • im going to the jack yard & back off now! that was the best ive heard so far

  • dude just gave you a lesson on , proper uses of adjectives an , how to shred baha

  • nise mannn ...i karnt spewl eeva...ha ha...

  • please.. please tab it! that was f*cking awesome!!!

  • well I think you essentially get the same notes, thanks

  • the arpeggio is supposed to be from the 3rd to 10th fret but your sweep was pretty fuckin rad

  • you misspelled a word in your title

  • Which word?

  • He refers to the word "climatic".

    Climate =/= Climax

  • The word 'climatic' which you are referring to is actually spelled correctly. I think that you are assuming I have used the word incorrectly, which I have not. If I could point you to one of the definitions of the word 'climatic' :

situation: the situation or atmosphere that prevails at a particular time or place

The context in which the word is used here describes the situation and atmosphere (not in the meteorological sense) in the place at that point when the solo was played.

  • owned!

  • you spelled it "climatic" in your title. but still nice playing dude, you should redo it and record if digitally if possible for better sound quality. but you nailed it!

  • nice work! Beats my version!

  • I just checked out your version and it really is very very good, one of the best versions I've seen on Youtube.

    Thanks again for the comment.

  • thx :-)

  • poder

  • I will be posting another video lesson on this piece showing how to play it note for note, in due course.

  • nice....is that song from a classical composure or did steve vai make it himself???

  • The solo is based on a piece called Paganinis 5th Caprice (don't quote the spelling of that). I assume it was Steve Vai who arranged parts of it for the solo. It was Vai who played it for the film so yes he would have written the solo.

  • i think Eugene composed the blues part, rest was based on Paganini's work. Steve vai played it only cause he was the one who could play it fast enough. :) i thought the same as you once :b

  • Now, I think it was actually a guy called Rye cooder that wrote the blues parts and I don't know who arranged the pagannini composition - I just presumed it was Vai but maybe not.

    Who's Eugene by the way?

  • some guy i think.. i dont know.. but i think your right about Rye cooder .. sry for my mistake :b

and i heard eugene had something to do with it.. well fuck it.. ^^

  • Are you serious? This comes from a movie. The character that plays the piece in the movie "Crossroads" is named Eugene. "Eugene's trick bag" was written for the movie, and performed by Steve Vai, based on Paganini's 5th caprice for violin.

  • man that camera doesnt do justice for your playing...great job BTW

  • damn man ur awsome! and btw can you tab this?

  • just seen yr full version, fuckin hell geeza ! seen many on here but u kick ars ! bangon !!!

  • nice..!! see my videos ^^.. good one

  • Yes well done on your videos - keep it up and thank you for the comment.

  • more than welcome mate ! you should put up some hendrix covers would love to see you play little wing !

  • dude im browsing through ur vids and they just get better and better ! ive been tryin to play this of and on for like two years lol . nailed by you yet again . keep it up !

  • Thanks for the constructive comment - I too, have been working on and off this piece for about two years but eventually got there with it in the end and I'm sure you can too. Thanks again.

  • best one ive seen on youtube to be honest but its not up their with the most viewed which is a shame :(

  • thanks, yes I agree.

  • one month's practice to do it? :) or?

  • Well it depends on your ablity level to be honest - I would say it would take a bit longer than a month to learn this from scratch because it took me months to develop the techniques required for this. Even when you have the techniques down you have to constantly fine tune and fine tune so it doesn't happen overnight.

  • yes. you are right, i was seeing it from my level of guitar play. well, it's quite cool that the more you learn the more your posibilities grow, and you see that there is no end to your potential experience.

  • sweet! tough one.

  • all you need now is a better camera

  • I couldn't agree more.... and a better microphone!!

  • Niceeeee man, that's a hard-ass solo, Did you use tabs or by ear?

  • Thanks, yes it's probably one of the hardest solos I've ever learned. I used a very reliable and accurate guitar tab from the internet. I used this and my ear together I would say, and I also listened carefully to the part as played in the film which helped. too.

  • could you provide a link to that tab plz

  • sweet technique!!!!

  • Oh thank you, yes it's a very difficult solo.
