  • On CKCV Québec this song was no one in earley 60's.

  • Sons Of Anarchy made this song popular.

  • @makkornen No, ANDY WILLIAMS made this song popular.

  • I only heard about this song throught SOA. Preetty awesome though.

  • This song was done in 1962.. I have known the song for my whole life ever since a child in the sixties.. Andy, one of the best!!!

  • @smfbiz We had one of the huge record players that looked more like a buffet, it was so big, and the albums were in there, early 60s, I was about 5, and I played his vinyl every day just for this song!!! Being an Italian, we also had a lot of Perry Como, Dean Martin and Old Blue Eyes. I just liked him the best!!!!!

  • Nocaro-exceptional production of an exceptional singer, performer and man.

  • Omigosh....I bought this 45 back in 1963 when I was16 years old. It still reminds me of the reason I bought it....

  • Happy 84th birthday, Andy. (12-3-11)

  • Sons Of Anarchy!

  • This has been my favorite Andy Williams song since I first heard it in the early 60's. I have my father to thank for my musical tastes, whether it be music from the 30's thru the sixties my fathers taste in music influences me to this day. Ella, Sinatra, Mathis, Brubeck, Mancini, etc, I listen to the greats even today.

  • Ditto that last one. Don't want to lose you.

  • Get well soon, Andy, don't want to get used to losing you.

  • For some reason this song always brings Bert Kempfert to mind?!?!

  • I LOVE this song! When I heard it, I turned it UP! It is one of my favorites. Always will be. Thank you for posting. I'm 54 now. I quit playing music loud a long time ago. Todays "music" just doesn't measure up.

  • @avdreader1 amen

  • I was a kid when this was playing...beautiful...used to love his T.V. show...Those days were certainly better days.

  • love this song so much.

  • I think the first time I heard this song was on KRLA radio in Los Angeles. I most of been only 8 years old!

  • My favorite Andy Williams song!

  • I was seven years old, sitting in the back seat of a big blue Chevy Impala when I first heard this. The song, and the moment, stuck with me forever. Maybe it was the spooky chord changes and sinuous melody. Interesting to find out it was written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shulman.

  • does anybody know what year this came out?

  • @jrsjrs9 The answer is in my notes attached to each recording...1963.

  • @Nocaro a little snippy, ehh? geesh...just be glad people are asking and are interested. Like Glen Campbell too? He did a great song called "Try A Little Kindness"....give it a spin..and listen.

  • @AussiesRokTheWest LOL, not "snippy" at all. Did it ever occur to you that many people have never noticed these "notes" attached to my posts? Lots of great info in them and I was just making sure they were aware of it.

  • my name is Lanny also

  • Sons of anarchy best show ever

  • lawl. Sam Crow.

  • I love love love Andy Williams hes the best singer

  • The English Beat version is really great also. But I must say that after digging the EB version for 20 years I think I like this better. As a kid I thought this was so corny. Now I'm 46 and I'm totally off into it.

  • Absolutely love this song and anything Andy Williams. By the way does anyone have Hopeless by Andy Williams would love to hear that one again too.

  • I remember this song. I was only 3 when it was released. And although I didn't know the words, the melody scared the crap out of me for some reason!

  • Love that haunting pizzicato melody :)

  • sons of anarchy<3

  • A perfect pop hit. For some reason, i always thought that this song was done by Steve Lawrence. Thank you for clearing THAT up. Used to listen to this while riding in my Dad's 1959 Ford station wagon on trips from Hartford, CT to Albany, NY. What a smooth voice......

  • @terrryc Heard it the same way, in MInnesota. On WCCO while my did drove my to what was then nursery school on his way to work.

  • I love part in SOA,where this song comes :D And JAX ! ♥ OMG He is so hot and handsome >:D

  • I have always loved this song, but SOA gave it a whole new dimension.

    .

  • i fucking love this song

  • 2 people can't get used to losing you!

  • reminds me of a song from Grease

  • Probably one of the top three singers of all time, the other two in my opinion,Matt Munro and Neil diamond.

  • @kneeldiamond Bobby Darin should probably be in the top there, ehh bub? I can see by yer name ya might a bit bias though so I'll refrain from debate ;)

  • what a great song, arrangement, and great voice of andy williams...."mr rockabilly 70" brings up a good point about the female back up singers...something that is overlooked in judging a song...they do lend a haunting quality to this great song....good observation mr rockabilly....i was thinkign the same thing when i was listening to this song...one of the best songs ever by a great voice...

  • @muztang67

Thank you, I'm glad you agree. The female back up singers do a wonderful job on this track and it's something that's always appealed to me ever since I first heard this song being played by my father as a kid in the 70's.

  • @MrRockabilly70 Wonderful? Excellent...also listen to the background singers on Skeeter Davis' version.

  • @madlyderanged

Yes, they are excellent. I had a listen to the Skeeter Davis version and while she does a credible version of this song, I still prefer Andys' original. The back up singers on her version are just as good as the girls on this song. These back up singers aren't given the full credit and praise they deserve on some of these old songs which is a bit of shame in my opinion because they can turn quite an ordinary song into something really good and worthwhile listening to.

  • Song from my childhood...pure talent, pure voice...pure

  • Wow, thank you so much for this video from the greatest singer of all. Love it! Saw him in concert a couple of years ago in Plymouth, UK and he was simply still amazing, note perfect. Thanks Andy for a lifetime of wonderul emeories

  • KOHN IS DEAD!

  • This and "Moon River" would have to be my two favourite Andy Williams songs. The man is a legend and has a great voice. One thing that's always captivated me about this song in particular are the female back up singers. They give this song a hauntingly melodic feel to it that is just fantastic. Never get tired of listenting to this great song.

Thank you Nocaro for uploading this song!

  • A song my mom used to play when I was a kid. Love how music can take you back.

  • @mattanddi62 ,AMEN!

  • I love this song.

  • thumbs up if you've heard it on Sons of Anarchy!

  • @letiziaskiller No, I've never heard of them...

  • @letiziaskiller ah...agent Kohn there was a good man lol

  • @letiziaskiller SOA totally made this song demented and erotic at the same time. Forever on the Fucklist.

  • @letiziaskiller haha, hell yea buddy

  • @letiziaskiller That is actually why I looked up this song....It has a good beat toit. Ha Ha! This is the stockers song!

  • @letiziaskiller i love that show lol

  • @letiziaskiller exactly where i heard it from lolz

  • have always loved this song - thanks for posting

  • I never thought sons of anarchy would lead me to such a wonderful song =]

  • Spring of '63, I was 16 y/o a Junior in High School, & ohhh did I sing this to a girl named Gail--my 1st serious crush. What times they were. Wolfsky9

  • It's funny how many of these songs covered by Andy Williams, I first heard covered by Patti Page. I love the voice of both and don't have a preference.

  • Good song! Luv it.

  • i love this because no one feels the need to talk rude to one and other i wish all the videos could be so constructive and kind

  • Sons of Anarchy. Get some Jacks!

  • speaking of overdubbing , i have a 78 by tony martin, tony martin and tony martin---can't remember what the song is tho'...

  • My favorite Andy Williams song.

  • this song speaks volumes bout breakups

  • What a first rate presentation of Andy Williams and what "mellowroast" has appropriately labeled, a "Major classic"! I am as impressed with Nocaro's knowledge of music (and the music industry) as I am with the consistent high quality of his presentations. Since his contribution to this site represents nothing short of a virtual gold mine, I am one of his myriad appreciative subscribers.

  • @MysticSojourner Wow, I'm very appreciative of your kind comments, but I badly need to redo some of my earlier videos when I was experimenting with the process, but some of them have so many views already that I'm afraid to. This particular one turned out well, however...thanks...Lanny (Nocaro)

  • @Nocaro ur welcome!

  • @Nocaro excellent clip, thanks so much, what a fine track by a smoooooth dude.

  • I'll never get over losing you sweetheart! I love you more and more and feel you in my heart everyday.

  • I love Andy Williams - and I love this song! I can remember hearing it on the radio as a boy.

  • To Cindy, I'll find somebody, wait and see, who am I kidding?, only me, Cause no one else could take your place, Guess that I 'am just a hopeless case. I Can"t get Used To Losing You, no matter what I try to do, Gonna live my whole life through, Loving You!!. I still love and miss you baby, RIP.

  • This is for my late girlfriend Cindy Lou Schmidt (1956-2002). She left me in 1982 after 3 years together. 1 week after she left, I played this 45 reissue on my STEREO. That's how I felt then, and that's how I feel now since the day she died. I still love her. To Cindy, I Can"t Get Used To Losing You, no matter what I try to do, gonna live my whole life through, Loving You. RIP Baby, I miss you.

  • @MrMotownmanny Beautiful post. Very personal.

  • Can't get enough of this song..it's wonderful! Andy is a class act!

  • Please do NOT click on the SoccerBall Logo underneath the Youtube screen

  • I'll find somebody wait & see

Who ; ) am i kindding ,only me

Cause no one else could take

    your place .

    Thank you Nocaro for sharing

  • Lanny-I really enjoy your histories that you include with your downloads, especially when it includes info regarding my favorite genre-beach and shag, eg the Drifters. Question: Was this song an example of the early technology of sound-on-sound with Andy singing harmony with himself(ex: Neil Sedaka)?

  • @BeachMusicLvr Actually the process of "over-dubbing" voices became popular when Les Paul used it extensively on many of his recordings with Mary Ford which date back to the late 40's and early 50's (Listen to Mary's voice on "How High The Moon"). Buddy Holly also used it a lot as well as Neil Sedaka, Connie Francis, etc. Pomus and Shuman LOVED "strings" which is evident on this recording and many of the songs they wrote for The Drifters...good to hear from you...Lanny (Nocaro)

  • @Nocaro This does sound like sound on top of sound. Brian Wilson and Phil Spector used this extensively.
