yeah, i'm a "poser".lol.i have been riding bikes for 28 years. you stupid little boy. i also have a gsxr1000 with a turbo that i drag race, so i think that more than qualifies me as a true motorcyclist.. i saw your video of your "track only" 636 and all i saw was a punk ass kid acting like a fool on a public road. you stupid little boy, i have ridden a 636 and it's a fucking pig, it fell on it's face right off the line, shitty clutch and gearbox. zx9 was kawi's only decent bike
I'll admit, I did ride like an idiot on back DESERTED country/mountain roads. Also fyi, your r6 makes like 104 hp to the wheels (motorcycle), the 636 with the extra 36 cc's give me way better mid range punch and better peak at up to 115 hp to the wheels (motorcycle usa) and in 05 received praise from all editorials. So no it isn't slow neither is the r6. If you weren't a squid, you would know that none of the 600 are slow and that they are all good bikes.
@blue03r6 you can't put a power commander on a bike that has no computer you stupid motherfucker. i bought a '99 R6 as soon as they came out and raced it for seven years so shut the fuck up.the OTHER conversation (which didn't include you)was about STOCK R6 horsepower.try to pay attention
@125sxking why are you telling me this? once again, the coversation was about a '99 R6. completely different motor. don't try to challenge my knowledgeof bikes. i have been riding longer than you have been alive
If you think the 636 is a piece of shit then you sire are not a motorcycle rider. Just a poser squid that think he's cool in his flip flop and sunglasses. "Look at me, I have an R6."
ok so he could barely figure out how to get the bike started, then he pings the throttle to 16.5k and eases out on the clutch ...wtf? ppl like this dont deserve to ride on two wheels
@icecreamhands what the fuck does motogp have to do with how he launched? they dont bounce off the rev limiter, they launch at high rpms. everyone knows launching at 16.5k is straight up retarded, why dont u read some of the comments on this page.
To the people arguing about the bike break in, look up the 'motoman break in method'. I worked at a ktm dealer on an apprenticeship for 4 years and then stayed around for a further 2 years, i can guarantee, although they won't flat out tell you but after any rebuild any shop does they will normally rev the crap out of it after they are done, it's the only way to efficiently tune/tweak the bike after the rebuild to minimize returns. Returns people can claim on the initial labor wty cost money.
maybe hes got an after market launch control system on the r6, launch control : you whack open the throttle leave out the clutch all at once and the bike does the rest :D

interesting.. I'm surprised the man didn't blow the engine. I've had a few buddies blow a brand new engine by only passing 6-7,000rpm let alone redlining it in the first 1,000 to even 5,000km. It can easily blow without being broken in smoothly, 400k is not enough. ESPECIALLY Yamaha's. Those are some very touchy bikes when it comes to the engine.
@seanalexanderdurand Bullshit!! You can NOT blow a brand new sportbike engine by revving it to 6-7k unless it has NO oil in it. They dont even redline till 17.5k - 18k . I have a 05 Kawi 636 and a 08 r6, They dont even start to really purr until you hit 6k rpm. You could run them in the 7-8k rpm right off the floor and it wont hurt them one damn bit. I am calling you a damn liar kid!
@Brianchse I said passing 6 or 7.. which means cruising on the freeway at 8 or 9k. and I've heard stories of people doing that coming out of the dealership and totaling their yamaha. never heard it with other makes though. I've had an r6 before, worst bike I ever had and I blew the engine on the freeway at 9,000rpm and the bike had 36,000 miles. not sure how the past owners treated it but I've never heard of bikes blowing like that before till it happened to me AND 2 buddies of mine. all Yamahas
@seanalexanderdurand Bullshit still!! Running a bike at 9-11k right off the floor wont do shit!! It most defiantly wont blow the motor unless you got NO oil in it. You say you blew your r6 up at 9k with 36k miles on it, well hell kid thats like 26k past its valve lash adjustment and like you said you dont know how the past owners treated it! For all you know it was abused and never taken care of. Any bike would blow up with that many miles on it without maintenance. Not just a yamaha(roll eyes)
@Brianchse my two buddies had less than 5k on it and one of them it was 2 days after buying it brand new.. you stand by your opinion like a brick wall, which I admire but some bikes are lemons, others are not. some yamaha's work brilliantly, others do not. but in percentages and statistics, I have seen more issues with them than any other make. I have a Honda cbr now.. best bike I've ever had and closing in on 45k miles still running strong even after being tracked hard a few times.
@seanalexanderdurand I have owned a sport bike sense 95, Katana, was a piece of shit, then a 98 suzuki RF600r, good bike. Then a 2001 GSXR750, another good bike. Then a 05 Kawi 636, awesome bike! I now own a 08 r6 Limited edition. Out of all the bikes i have had the Yamaha corners and performs the best. All the bikes i have had were bought brand new. I never broke them in, i just took care of them, and i bet they all still run to this day.
@seanalexanderdurand Oh and all my bikes had over 20k on them when i sold them. i never had one long enough to put 40k on it. I like to stay up to date with my sport bikes.
@Brianchse I usually by my motorcycles with 20k on them lol can't really afford newer ones at the moment. I don't really treat them very harshly as I'm a commuter and need my only mode of transportation to work for me. but either way, I have yet to find someone who's had a bad experience with honda. :P
Bikes clutches aren't the same as cars. Bikes , especially this one have wet clutches. Sure u can still burn then out but they are designed to be used like that. Cars on the other hand , u can really fuck them up if you use it the same way.
@MrJrakk hahahaha, okay bud, go try, its a race bike, its built specifically to do that, obviously its not going to live as long IF you do that but its not gona break just because you pin it
i have an 07 R6 and its the fuel pump, it goes on and pumps up then you crank it ... he just fliped it on and cranked it right away... it sounded about ready to start right before he let off to crank again but no biggy... lol why the talk about all that... bcuz that was a great launch against a super expencive car
@MalliganTheUFO they aren't meant to just beat the shit out of them? and launching off redline doesn't make ur dick bigger. it just shows you don't know how to ride. this r6 prolly shoulda launched around 7-8k tops. u wanna launch right at the bottom of your power band not the top cuz when u dump ur clutch ur fronts coming up...but if u drag it out too long so u don't wheelie u do two things, 1) take too long to get going so ur already getting pulled on 2) burning the fuck outa ur clutch.......
@frostyisag10 Sorry, I didn't know you were a professional motorbike drag racer.... I better be careful what I say next time then! I didn't know you "dump ur clutch" when drag racing??? Silly me....
most engines (car and bike) are run in on the bench at the factory. Kick shit out of them immediately, get the rings bedded in nicely while the plateaus on the hone are still sharp.
I'm so bad at quick starting with my R1, it always wheelies too much. I tried my friend's R6 (racing exhaust, PC, etc), and it was so easy to lift off quickly because it didn't wheelie so much... I don't know which is faster at the beginning though, all I know that my R1 would smoke it when speed is over 100kmh and I'm changing to the second gear. :)
@emtildeath well i agree.. to a certian extent at least. while its true i didnt break mine in 'by the books' i also didnt beat the shit out of it. i mean to each their own i suppose but im gonna listen to the guys that designed and built the thing when they tell me to do something. as best as i can anyway lol.
Hey that guy know how to launch that r6, and by the way people and the manufactures companies say that you need to ride 1000 km to go full gas, well their're allot of factors about going full gas in low millage, first manufactures companies say this because they want to assure that the life of the engine is going to be the optimal so they don't have to worry about complains. Second the best way to get a good wear in your engine is to go full gas in a progressive and periodical way.
you can hear the electric struggle for about six seconds, which is quite alot.
a normal r6 would start up just when you press the electric starter.
so the bike does not run well after 400km, something is really wrong.
my first suggestion would be, that the battery is low, but after 400km an empty battery is not allright. i hope you understand the part about the battery.
the bike needs the battery to start with the electric starter (it has no "kicker").
@Kampfkoloss120 this i actually quit normal, when a bike is dellivered at the dealer it comes with a battery, but its decharged, dealerships dont charge batteries to max or even half, even though he has been riding it, a hot bike usually start more difficult then a cold one(read that somewhere, dont shoot me if im wrong) nothing wrong with the bike, and also nothing wrong with him revving it to the max, as long as the engine is at a good temprature
@Kampfkoloss120 umm that myth about "breaking in" a bike is bull shit. You gotta go hard in the beggining of its life and ride it how it will be ridden everyday. go hard cause if you dont at first then do down the road you will damage the engine.
@mtp23church EXACTLY! All these idiots saying "poor bike" are clueless. You have to break the bike in how you are planning on riding it for the rest of its life. This is the only intelligent comment i have seen on here so far.
@Brianchse Are you fucking stupid? Thats why IN EVERY manual not just bikes, it gives you mileage for a break in period? Because those engineers don't know what they're talking about. Gtfo troll.
@Kenshin851 Lick my ass shitbag! Yeah the nascar drivers break in all their motors at 50 miles an hour before they run them 500 miles wide ass open <---- LMAO, Talk to the japs about how to break in a bike, then get back to me. Dont believe everything u read. Oh yeah and you have to change your oil every 3000 miles too or it will damage your engine, LMAO!
@Kenshin851 True retard, but they are running them to the max ALL the time thats why, NOT because they dont get "broke in" . You are a fucking moron, so shut you're cock holster cause you dont know shit!
@Brianchse I'm not even going to bother with your stupid ass, you keep running your bikes hard with fresh fucking metal and fuck em up. I mean I obviously don't know shit being in a fabrication shop working on Planes. No I don't know the characteristics of metal. You're a fucking moron.
@Kenshin851 LOL ive been working with steel and aluminum for almost 20 years, welder/fitter by trade. Ive taken a few metallurgy classes myself most given by old timers ive worked with over the years. So dont try and bullshit me kid. Oh and you build planes? If you work for boeing please dont insult me by acting like you do anything worth a fuck, i have worked for boeing before, what a joke!!
@Kenshin851 LMAO did you forget your the one who insulted me first you fucking inbred retard! Wow ,you are not only brain dead but a damn burnout too! But lets not get off the subject, i am betting you dont even own a sport bike. I also bet you believe everything you read. All i can say is if you really knew anything about todays motors you would know the reason they have said to break a motor in and where and when that started, and also why its not true anymore! Hasnt been for 25 years or more.

Bikes clutches aren't the same as cars. Bikes , especially this one have wet clutches. Sure u can still burn then out but they are designed to be used like that. Cars on the other hand , u can really fuck them up if you use it the same way.

@slb785 lol...... R6 is a race bike.... They are meant to be beat to shit since day one. Why buy one to ride it like a pussy??
MalliganTheUFO 6 months ago
@MalliganTheUFO they aren't meant to just beat the shit out of them? and launching off redline doesn't make ur dick bigger. it just shows you don't know how to ride. this r6 prolly shoulda launched around 7-8k tops. u wanna launch right at the bottom of your power band not the top cuz when u dump ur clutch ur fronts coming up...but if u drag it out too long so u don't wheelie u do two things, 1) take too long to get going so ur already getting pulled on 2) burning the fuck outa ur clutch.......
frostyisag10 6 months ago
@frostyisag10 Sorry, I didn't know you were a professional motorbike drag racer.... I better be careful what I say next time then! I didn't know you "dump ur clutch" when drag racing??? Silly me....

most engines (car and bike) are run in on the bench at the factory. Kick shit out of them immediately, get the rings bedded in nicely while the plateaus on the hone are still sharp.
tathjones 1 year ago
I'm so bad at quick starting with my R1, it always wheelies too much. I tried my friend's R6 (racing exhaust, PC, etc), and it was so easy to lift off quickly because it didn't wheelie so much... I don't know which is faster at the beginning though, all I know that my R1 would smoke it when speed is over 100kmh and I'm changing to the second gear. :)

dudefromlondon 1 year ago
@emtildeath well i agree.. to a certian extent at least. while its true i didnt break mine in 'by the books' i also didnt beat the shit out of it. i mean to each their own i suppose but im gonna listen to the guys that designed and built the thing when they tell me to do something. as best as i can anyway lol.

The rev limiters there to well limit the revs so it's not guna fuck your bike up yet it just saves your engine for a little while ;)
jordanfairall123 1 year ago
Hey that guy know how to launch that r6, and by the way people and the manufactures companies say that you need to ride 1000 km to go full gas, well their're allot of factors about going full gas in low millage, first manufactures companies say this because they want to assure that the life of the engine is going to be the optimal so they don't have to worry about complains. Second the best way to get a good wear in your engine is to go full gas in a progressive and periodical way.

yes. unfortunately(
daijiro1976 1 year ago 2
@daijiro1976
so why didnt start it properly?
its messed up with battery?
are you the driver?
you know you have to ride a bike 1000km then you can give fullgas.
sorry im no native speaker
Kampfkoloss120 1 year ago 5
@Kampfkoloss120
so, why you think itwas not properly?
i can't understand you about battery.
not me
yes, we know that)
ok
daijiro1976 1 year ago 13
@daijiro1976
you can hear the electric struggle for about six seconds, which is quite alot.
a normal r6 would start up just when you press the electric starter.
so the bike does not run well after 400km, something is really wrong.
my first suggestion would be, that the battery is low, but after 400km an empty battery is not allright. i hope you understand the part about the battery.
the bike needs the battery to start with the electric starter (it has no "kicker").
Kampfkoloss120 1 year ago
@Kampfkoloss120 this i actually quit normal, when a bike is dellivered at the dealer it comes with a battery, but its decharged, dealerships dont charge batteries to max or even half, even though he has been riding it, a hot bike usually start more difficult then a cold one(read that somewhere, dont shoot me if im wrong) nothing wrong with the bike, and also nothing wrong with him revving it to the max, as long as the engine is at a good temprature
caparzo2142 1 year ago
@caparzo2142 cold starts are the worst...but riding when the air is cool,is better
ActionFarter 1 year ago
@Kampfkoloss120
According to my dealer it's not realy needed to ride in the new bikes.
BUT according to him the bike will run better and you will have less maintenance costs if you do ride the bike in.
XoXstealthdudeXoX 1 year ago
@Kampfkoloss120 umm that myth about "breaking in" a bike is bull shit. You gotta go hard in the beggining of its life and ride it how it will be ridden everyday. go hard cause if you dont at first then do down the road you will damage the engine.
mtp23church 11 months ago
@mtp23church EXACTLY! All these idiots saying "poor bike" are clueless. You have to break the bike in how you are planning on riding it for the rest of its life. This is the only intelligent comment i have seen on here so far.
Brianchse 7 months ago
@Brianchse Are you fucking stupid? Thats why IN EVERY manual not just bikes, it gives you mileage for a break in period? Because those engineers don't know what they're talking about. Gtfo troll.
Kenshin851 6 months ago
@Kenshin851 Lick my ass shitbag! Yeah the nascar drivers break in all their motors at 50 miles an hour before they run them 500 miles wide ass open <---- LMAO, Talk to the japs about how to break in a bike, then get back to me. Dont believe everything u read. Oh yeah and you have to change your oil every 3000 miles too or it will damage your engine, LMAO!
Brianchse 6 months ago
@Brianchse Your a dumb piece of shit those engines only last 1-3 races before they havwe to get rebuilt.
Kenshin851 6 months ago
@Kenshin851 True retard, but they are running them to the max ALL the time thats why, NOT because they dont get "broke in" . You are a fucking moron, so shut you're cock holster cause you dont know shit!
Brianchse 6 months ago
@Brianchse I'm not even going to bother with your stupid ass, you keep running your bikes hard with fresh fucking metal and fuck em up. I mean I obviously don't know shit being in a fabrication shop working on Planes. No I don't know the characteristics of metal. You're a fucking moron.
Kenshin851 6 months ago
@Kenshin851 LOL ive been working with steel and aluminum for almost 20 years, welder/fitter by trade. Ive taken a few metallurgy classes myself most given by old timers ive worked with over the years. So dont try and bullshit me kid. Oh and you build planes? If you work for boeing please dont insult me by acting like you do anything worth a fuck, i have worked for boeing before, what a joke!!
Brianchse 6 months ago
@Brianchse Don't insult me I work for the Air Force. 20 years as a welder/fitter and you act like this? Have some self-respect for your age.
Kenshin851 6 months ago
@Kenshin851 LMAO did you forget your the one who insulted me first you fucking inbred retard! Wow ,you are not only brain dead but a damn burnout too! But lets not get off the subject, i am betting you dont even own a sport bike. I also bet you believe everything you read. All i can say is if you really knew anything about todays motors you would know the reason they have said to break a motor in and where and when that started, and also why its not true anymore! Hasnt been for 25 years or more.
