I'm a little confused about something but can't seem to find the answer. I hope you can help.
VCN is working as intended at home but I don't know how to access my computer remotely via this program. All of the tutorials people do are when they're sitting in front of their computers so they never mention how to remotely.
it's a lot more complex than locally (at home). I'm not even exactly sure how to do this. but I think you need to find your computer's IP address (not the 192.168.x.x one) and connect using that.
sorry, I used to use Tiger, but I don't remember enough to help you. I think VNC support is Leopard only... but you could try other 3rd party clients instead of Leopard's de facto one.
the instructions provided with this app also work with vista i believe. follow the same stuff in this video, but use tightVNC, tridiaVNC, and ultraVNC for the vnc server.
the jailbreak hasnt come out yet, b/c of the new processor in the 2G. teleport is much better, but mocha vnc is cheaper, and there is a free version. most ppl don't need all the advanced settings of teleport...
moca vnx or logmein ingnition wich is best?

I was thinking - I don't know if AirPort has anything to do with it. Hmmm, anyway. hope you can help.

You can easily use DYNDNS to setup a fake static IP for VNC programs, works well.

cool, ill be sure to check that out, but seeing as I don't use VNC much...

BTW, if you have a router, you shouldn't need the password.
Second of all, you should go into Network Preferences and set up a Static IP Address for your Mac so that it doesn't change every time you restart.

thanks for the tips, greatly appreciated! I didn't know about the static ip address.

I didn't know Mac's had a built in VNC server thing, I always used to use Vine Server to get the IP address.
Great Vid, 5 Stars.
