I find that when i bit torrent an album or movie, if i like it, ill go out and buy the actual cd/dvd because it has the cover, real cd, etc. If i dont like it, i toss it out and i havent wasted money, and they havent earned said wasted money. I dont thrive on the downloaded stuff because i feel something is missing unless i have the real thing. I go into a Virgin Megastore and buy an album i downloaded 3 months before.

QES: Do you see how ignorant that sounds? Everyone in entertainment will satisfy every fanboy or girl of a genre. That is not a good excuse to go and steal a persons hard work. I mean try not thinking about yourself and wear someone elses shoes for a breif sound. Image you are that artist actor or otherwise how would you feel if you were gipped out of the pay you signed onto and because a couple of fans pirated you work you are unable to get paid the amount signed for. Do you think that is fair

For QES cont: for their work they've done. And mind you some films may take up to a yr or more to make. I mean look at how much it took for this sucky film to make 85,000,000 dollars and they only made up about 35,000,000. So, if you don't know it a majority of it is given to props,rental cost,etc. And whatever is left is given to actors and staff minus of course the sell of the dvd's and soundtrack.But wait if that is being stolen then...you got it almost 0 is made by artists. THINK!

wanted was a fun romp. one of the better actions movies in recent years thrid to bourne and bank job. but every movie can't be 300.

maybe it was internet pirate and the people that support them. You can't ask them to pay 8.50 for a movie they've view several times before it aired out in theaters. I mean what do you expect Hollywood. A greater amount of money would have been made if Hollywood and other entertainment co. would invest in hardcore anti-piracy devises or just simply deliver their produce regular secured mailing. These people will not stop until it is too late and they no longer have media to pirate from.

Thank you, and by the way I paid for that movie you stole. This is all a part of my (baby) to get read of you thieves. So, tell your friends about me. LOL! And yes I know there is more to it I saw that the story didn't live up to fans expectations, but that is besides the point. If these same fans that pirated this movie had held out,box office sells would have been greatly increased, but now I feel they have dropped for the same reasons mentioned before.

Well, I haven't pirated it. But now I think I will. If I like it - I'll go see it in the theaters, to support the industry.

I pay for things that I like, things of quality. This is the new paradigm - and a better one it is.

Why isn't that a suprise to me? I think you had that planed to begin with. You didn't need my help in your decision. So, the reversal crap isn't going to work with me. And really it isn't the industry that I speak of;I can care less about them. My problem lays on the writers,actor and producers that try so hard to bring this to us like it or no and we as fans or potential fans abuse the internet and use bittorent to get free what cost so much to make and honestly think they are getting pay well

Bittorrent isnt depriving people of money - it's depriving undeserving people of money.  Most bittorrent users purchase and will patronize the things they enjoy - the things that are WORTH their money.

What this is doing is killing poorly made or 'pulp' products that even kitsch collectors should veer away from.

I'm all for the writers, producers, directors and actors. But I think that pay pairity needs adjusting (actors dont need millions per pic. and writers should get paid more).

You know what if you can't understand that stealing is stealing than you need to look at your values. Nor should the rock bands,rapers,country singers, Cartoon and anime artist,voice actor. Right! Most in the entertainment field have have went to schools and lived and breathed the art they have made. Are your fucking serious, it like your saying that these people regardless of the time they spent doing their art aren't worth getting paid if they don't reach everyone's expectations.

I used to do the same thing when I was 11 years old. I know the great feeling your have when you are part of the first to sample a new movie or music.But it where is the surprise when you find something you like and have already stolen the whole first, second or third season for a movie, cartoon,or television show. I'm also in Seminary and have Ethics discussions on 'piracy' regularly. We have a difference in opinion (obvious) and a difference of focus (less obvious).

To sum up my general thesis - one I neither emotionally or mentally require you to agree with for my own comfort - is this:

When producers and consumers directly control the content and quality, theft is a problem. When there is a middleman who steals the power away from either of those ends, stealing it back is ok

actually, there was a part that preyed on two of my biggest fears... spiders, and dentist tools. so I guess I didn't like that part of the movie too much.
