Because guys like this aren't generally "good" for selling things...can you imagine a product placement in a St. Vitus video? Can you see any of these guys doing a Sprint Mobile commercial?PLUS (*gasp*) they look like real people!! If it can't be spun into a way to sell clothes, coffee and iPods and whatever other crap we supposedly "need", then it's file under "Obscurity". As far as the masses are concerned, they're generally content with whatever gets shoved down the corporate feeding tube.
