@flynelsonnz Aha! The "highly respected local pilot" himself. Went thru takaka this year, left wing at home on purpose, much more relaxing holiday for sure!
I had heard the rumour about some Chch pilots around. I even saw your vehicle up Takaka, I think. Best thing to do if the wind is strong like that is to "get the hell out of Dodge and fly down the valley towards the sea. Nice video mate.
LOL not a matter of if it will happen, but when. YOu earned that landing for sure. One of those flights where you are happy to be on the ground. Good job.
haha - classic mate - good to see you had the balls to test that advanced pilots theory about strong winds. no harm done - and I'm sure your arms will be well primed for the classic
@SpiNNeRNZ thanks mate, yeah the arms are still trembling. Heard a whole bunch of you had a ball at Cheese Mountain 'tother day, and made it to Springfield. Wish I'd gone for a look!
@STIIKYS , thanks dude, arms were just listless, burnt out sinew, glad I'd had a good breakfast, and despite the nerves, really still glad I got up. Hope to catch you at the Nats bro :)
Hahaha....holy shit bro, that looked very interesting. You looked like you had it under control the whole time tho. Well done, another experience for your bucket.
Yeah man, I had a dry mouth from panting like a maniac. It was a bloody good work out for my chicken wings. Flown Takaka another time with that "respected pilot", she was much kinder to me then. I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger eh bro?
