First violinist is pretty scratchy- it's a melody! Keep that in mind. 2nd violinist and violist rush in the beginning. General intonation problems but I'm sure you all know that :). More dynamics and gestures would make for a more interesting performance. First violinist has great intonation in some difficult spots. Change the mood in the slower section- not the tempo but the MOOD! Good luck, you guys are doing mostly great. Violist should tune C string along with an E string- it'll help.
You guys rock!!! I'm in Austria right now. These people do not understand this piece. You guys are 1000x better, and you're practically sight reading!!! :-D
Viola teachers always say play like a pig and pull a HUGE SOUND out of the viola because the range of the viola blends with every other string instrument.
Woah! Nice shifting. Awesome dynamics. You guys stayed together durring the 16ths. I am trying to find music for my chamber class....This one will be awesome to sight read. I love it. Keep it up!
I see what AlamoCityCello about the cello solo line. It may just be the vc instrument as the solo line (played on A-D strngs) is not carrying thru like the bass line does elsewhere. So, the entire group, esp. 1st Vln & Va must tuck just under the cellist at that vc line. The VA becomes the base line but as is recorded here it is dominating tonally over the celo line. 1st Vln also slightly overpowering the vc.
Great grp - fantastic indiv players. Keep exploring, playing, working, having fun!
Great Job, quartet, but especially to the First Violinist! You sound fantastic! I do agree, however, with the earlier comment about dynamics... keep up the good work!
Nice Job, good chemistry between players. Watch dynamics, think about where your bow is. Closer or farther from bridge. Dynamic changes are not just a matter of volume, but rather character/color changes. If your playing an accompany section, back off the bridge!
Oh, if the cellist has the melody, back off (viola player!) I get the feeling the viola player is kinda of "piggy"!

wow that was actually really good. I'm no classical music expert, but is it between the 2:00-4:00 mark where the "wrong notes" are?
