Many of them were killed by their spouse because they bought expensive properties in their spouses name since foreigners couldn't own land in Thailand and they wanted to sell the property and move out of Thailand.

Jack might just have been scared but I thought that he seemed rather sheepish and a bit too happy to pay for someone who was sure he hadn't damaged the jet ski..he lied to his superior saying he didn't run away and that he didn't agree to pay 35 when he did and he also ran away which is never a good sign of innocence.. I know it's a common scam to charge for old damage but can't help but get the impression that in this case jack did damage the jet ski!
