@thedarkrouge true, i'm meticulous like that myself.....welding might be a fitting career for you, plus if you're an artist you can weld sculptures, plus it's good to have a career that you can fall back on....that's what makes welding so great, it's not some career that you slave over, you have many job opportunities across the world and you can pick and choose, or just take a break whenever you want (well not during a job you picked of course)
@thedarkrogue Your expectations for a stop motion are ridiculous. This video took me 7 straight hours, each turn taking 5 pictures. When YOU can make something better, post it as a response. Until then, keep your comments to yourself. You're nothing but a troll and annoying noob.
@thedarkrouge dude you try taking 2,786 pictures....to take a photo for every slight turn would triple the amount of photos needed....instead he would turn each piece to where the corner would pass by about 2 squares....excuse him for not wasting a few days on it!
I solved the centers first, then used the typical 3x3 reduction for the sides of the bottom, and then used the cage method to place each edge piece after that except the 5th and 6th edges (to correctly orient all the top edges), then used 3 algorithms to properly orient the 5th and 6th layer edges (2 are just reverse of each other, and 1 is the parity algorithm).
@thedarkrouge Constructive? If you can give some advice as to how to improve the smoothness, then please do share. Otherwise, its not a constructive comment, its just judgmental.
@thedarkrouge It took 7 hours to do, my deepest apologies for not having high quality work that can meet your standards. Perhaps if there were another 7x7 stop motion out there for me to be able to take notes on I could improve upon my method of recording.
Haha, thanks. I did this awhile back, and I have one stop motion video that I'm planning that will knock the socks off of anyone who knows anything about Rubik's cubes. ;)
Its my "cage-redux" method. I made a bunch of tutorials on this method for the 4x4 and 5x5; the reason why i use it because although it takes a little bit longer, it avoids parity
so does my method :P you stop the parity's before you get them basically, you can change it without any more moves to create the edge. :D, I thought it looked different.
Doesn't look messed up enough? I spent 10 minutes just scrambling it. I'm pretty sure it was scrambled... Besides, unlike alot of others out there who fake the solves, this is obviously not a backwards scramble.
I deleted one of them while taking the pictures and retook it (as you can tell when it glitches for a moment), but towards the end of the video I knocked the camera and every once in a while you could see my hand, but I never noticed until it was too late, and there was no way I was going to take another 7 hours to do it again :)
hehe, its ok. I should have added a quick message into the video stating that it took 7 hours. I got a bit sloppy in the end, but i'll have to live with it
Man! I can't believe you actually did this! I made one for the 3x3 & it took several hours to take all the pictures for about the same prames per move! I chagrined to think how long this one took!!!
I don't even wanna know how many frames you used for that.......

That was mesmerizingly enjoyable to watch.
Also, that didn't look like (normal) reduction. What method did you use?

very strange method to solve the 7x7x7 but still very nice work!
NiklasIZ 2 years ago
How is this method strange?
Its just reduction...
ben1996123 2 years ago
at the last two centers you only use the 'two centers switch' algorythm and your edges are somewhat uneffective in my opinion.

7 hours taking the pics, about 1 hour to stream them together

did you use reduction? because it doesn't quite look like reduction. :)

Nice, but it doesn't look scrambled enough at the start. Sure beats my 3x3 of about 400 pictures I think it was? :P

OH, haha. I was sneaking last night so my brightness and contrast were down. A lot of the colors looked alike in the beginning. :P
