very nice wiring bud and nice fixtures..... don`t know about that 45 w controller how many amps have you got from the panels? very nice lightning, congratulation friend
Looking to start a solar power beginners twitter. I have two 45 watt kits and 3 five watt panels all hooked up. Want to start talking about it and learn more. Like I saw a setup where a man used 18G speaker wire. Cheaper than buying cable meets and exceeded setup. So why not.
Also want help setting up these panels on a solar tracking pole setup.
Very nice to see you decided not to go with an inverter. Inverters waste electricity in converting DC to AC. I will do as you have and set up some lights in my home for dc only operation. Great update. Hello from sunny FL.....no ice storms here, just hurricanes.
Pretty cool, check out my system video. Lighting is by far the easiest place to start, and you can readily see how things work. After you get the lights going, it is easy to expand your system to power other stuff.
To be honest, I did the math, and with flourescent bulbs...left on 24/7 for 30 days, putting out 70 watts at 13 watts cost less than $5. I want to see more than lights being powered by this rig.
Its not only about money, its his hobby, and it serves a purpose. My new hobby is solar power too, i keep messing with my system and making changes and upgrading, keeps me busy and im having fun and learning.
I live in an area prone to "Ice storms". My interest is in having lighting, and maybe a little music, if the grid power goes down for 2 or even 3 weeks at a time. We can heat with wood, but carrying candles around gets really old!
