  • i play softball also and my coach tells my team that when you run you should keep you hands and muscles lose b/c a tight muscle is a slow muscle

  • First of all, it's a video. You're not going to get the real effect. Second of all, pitching is not all speed. Yes, it's nice to throw hard but having movement is ten times more effective than just having speed. Jen has crazy movement on her ball. Jen does pitch hard too.

  • why does it look Soooooooo slow ?

  • aahhhh! shes so good! lol

  • Her change-up is so predictable!

  • The release on the chage looks weird

  • Your great i'm a pitcher too but I'm only 13 so I can soon be good as you in this when I'm your age

  • @horsegirl4k2 kinda does bc you either pitch from 35ft 40ft or 43ft

  • @horsegirl4k2 Height DOES NOT matter theres this girl thats 6ft that i know that throws like crap and throws bout 55

  • Shes gonna hurt her arm throwing that change and drop shes coming around her body

  • @horsegirl4k2 sooo not possible to pitch 69 at 11 im 15 and i only throw 62 63 and even college pitchers dont pitch 69 she might pitch about 60 and plus she wont be that fast at 40ft or 43ft

  • @softballrocks04 Oklahoma's pitcher pitches up to 75!!!!! So yes it's very much possible!!

  • @aquariumluver and shes probably in college

  • @softballrocks04 yea she is and you said that college pitchers don't pitch 69.

  • @aquariumluver The tall oklahoma pitcher is on the USA team not only on a college team

  • @softballrocks04 I know, but she was pitching that before she was recruited.

  • @aquariumluver i dont think shes really that fast.. i mean shes a great pitcher and all but shes only as fast as cat ostermen and jennie finch

  • @aquariumluver No, they don't. Rarely has any pitcher ever reached the speed of 75. The top d-1 pitchers, like Keilani Ricketts of Oklahoma, hit speeds of 67-68 fastball and 69-70 on a rise.

  • @moharris2317 Yes. She has pitched speeds up to 75. I watched how fast every pitch went when she pitched, and she hit 70-75 a good bit of times.

  • @aquariumluver No, you are mistaken. I personally know Keilani Ricketts and have seen her play ball many of times. Not even the best pitchers in the world (Monica Abbott, Jennie Finch, Cat Osterman) have hit 75.

  • @moharris2317 Ok. I'm done. I was done 4 months ago.

  • @aquariumluver LOL good one.

  • Shut uhhp all you haters!!!!!

  • change up: she shortens her stride and her arm speed in order to get the right speed for her pitch and from the batters point of view they can tell that what she is going to throw by her stride

drop balls: she does the same thing when she trows her drop balls, she shortens her stride

curve ball: she throws a good curve ball but when she is releasing it looks like her hip gets in the way, forcing her to throw around her hip

if a 16 year old pitcher can tell you this than a college coach sure can

im just learning a rise ball so hers looks pretty good

  • My daughters pitching coach does not teach to bring the glove over the head. How does that help?

  • @westonsz it doesn't help or hinder, it is simply a pitcher's personal style on her wind-up

i wasn't taught it either but i tweak my wind-up all the time but it try to keep it as simple as possible to conserve energy

some pitchers like to have a big fancy wind-up because to some batters it is intimidating

  • @westonsz It doesnt .. I start with my glove at my hip and just go from there and i pitch bout 62 63 so it doesnt matter as long as you have good macanics shell be fine

  • i dont know if you can answer this or not because you probably wont get what im saying...but before you pitch like to get power can you walk fast to the rubber than when your foot hits the rubber start your wind up and stuff like your walking while pitching and i know you have to keep your foot on the rubber but before you even start your wind up can you like walk to the rubber than pitchh? if you get what im saying please reply

  • none of those pitches were close to 60 in the video

  • you say she throws 65 mph.. she doesnt even look like shes throwing tht hard...

  • absolutely amazing!!

  • how fast dose she pitch

  • @softballfreaks31 63-65 mph signed and is beginning her freshman softball college season at St. Bonaventure University in New York State. Thanks for the comment!

  • she is one awesome pitcher =) boy do i miss catching for ya jenny.

  • haha i love the glamor shots at the end Jenny! : )

  • how does she have 5 loses. wouldnt expect that with .892 ERA

  • That throwing looks painful

  • tell ur catcher to widen up

  • i love to pitch but i threw my arm out a year ago and then broke my left hand (which is my pitching hand) in seven places by crashing on my dirt bike.... all went down hill :(

  • when she pitchers her change up its obvious because her jump is slower, her jump for the fastball is faster and the jump for the change up is slower

  • dumb question...what is that "pop" sound right as the ball leaves her hand? does she slap her leg? or is it a snap sound from her fingers leaving the ball?

  • its her slapping her leg

  • very good!

  • yo gangsta when she throws a change up and drop at the end f the pitch

  • oh okay turnerstar31, maybe its because she made this video when she was a sophomore. maybe you should go watch her pitch as a SENIOR now and see if you can pick it up. nice try...she hides it very well now and its wicked. kbyee

  • nice video the only thing is that her change up is pretty obvious. She slows down so much from her normal pitching motion that people could probable pick it up

  • She's verbally committed to a d-1 school

  • @markg54 and your point is? Congratulations she signed, all the commenter was doing was saying her change up was noticeable and it was. She may be able to compete but using that as your comeback? Come on?

  • She signed d-1 FYI. St. Bonaventure Univ. NY

  • @markg54 She's not on roster.

  • @markg54 There is a Canisius College that shows here signing as well. What's up with that?

  • OKAY!!
