  • did pinch do the original mustang sally song? :)

  • BROOOOOCE!

  • I enjoyed it, Not really a big fan of him in anyway, but it was nice to catch a little bit with him. And Trey was pumped, It was only 3 songs too.

  • "Phish's biggest fan" just SOUNDS ironic

  • i was so glad when bruce got off the stage

    no offense, man!

    BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE .......

  • every fing bruce video people says people were booing.

  • hahahahah ya! I was there people were definitely say BRUCE not BOOOO! hahahaha geez guys cmon

  • LOL....who ever thinks BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN gets booed is a moron. He is a legend. They are yelling BRRRUUUUCCCEEEEE...

  • you have to be kidding the riff in the rhythm alone make this a sick version.. its unique..now go say 3 hail marys

  • I cant imagine that people would boo Bruce. I wasnt there and havent seen video of people supposedly "booing" him but that is very unlike phish fans to show disrespect to another musical artist. I mean for god sake phish brought out Jay-z in brooklyn and he didnt get booed. Jay-z and phish are on pretty opposite ends in terms of how they view music if you ask me

  • when people chant Bruuuuuuce it can sound like booo's. trust me i was there and no one was upset about the sit in.

  • The hell with Bruce...I'm Phish's biggest fan

  • ur a fing idiot

  • they were not booing they were saying BRUUUUCE, I know I was one of them.

  • LOL. you're clueless dude!

    "BRUUUUUUCE"

  • For all of you who say Springsteen doesn't jam seach the video of "Kitty's Back" from philly on 4/29/09 or seach any video from the Hammersmith Odeon show to see what he was like back in the days before the commercialized born in the usa album. Alot of his older material (pre-darkness on the edge of town) has many jam segments. He and the band can get loose when they want to.

  • phruuuuuuuce!

  • Don't sweat it ... its the Evolution of Music .. kick back and tell your offspring " I was there " ... the rest of you ... kiss my sweet Irish arse

  • i was there and this was the highllight of my entire bonnaroo experience. bruce is truly the boss

  • i wanna go to bonnaroo so bad! moving to Tennessee in august so maybe it can happen

  • Awful............

  • I like bruce just fine when he plays a cover. Just dont make me listen to anything he wrote.

  • hmm he's written like four hundred songs i'm sure you'll find something from him you really like

    so much different stuff

    Try the rising album

or if you're more a folk guy

    try Devils and dust

  • Don't even bother, there's just no accounting for taste - and if they don't like Bruce by now, they never will. Even my MOTHER, fer cryin' out loud, likes a few Springsteen songs, and she's in her EIGHTIES.

  • I'm his biggest fan on the planet

haha i really feel i might be ... but then don't somany millions of people feel that way haha

  • You're in good company, Bruce has millions of fans worldwide, I'll bet many feel that they are his biggest fan as well.

  • i was there... 1st row center baby!

  • Wow, 1124 shows since Phish have played this - that's quite a resurrection!

  • i heart the boss and phish is the most epic jamband ever... next to the dead

  • it was so much more epic to be there, but i dont know why. i guess its just about the experience of being there.

  • By all means then, stop listening.

  • I get a real kick out of seeing how shocked and/or disgusted so-called hippies and music snobs get when they find out artists like Trey Anastasio, Arcade Fire, and The Clash were influenced and inspired by Bruce Springsteen.

  • Who here is shocked and/or disgusted? I'm a fairly typical Phish fan and I love Bruce. Just because someone thought the "Bruuuuuuce!" calls were "Booos," doesn't mean anyone really showed any disrespect to The Boss. Great live rock-n-roll is great live rock-n-roll. And Bruce is universally known as someone who brings it. Hard. As does Phish.

  • man, i didn't know the boss could rip like that..that was the first time i saw phish and bruce so this show was a real blessing

  • from where i was sitting bruce or should i say boouce was getting booed when trey announced him fucking funny shit the american boy from the jersey shore took a pretty good beating bonnaroo weekend i wanna hear the live phish version to see if u can hear bruce getting boed.

  • they were yelling Bruuuce, you idiot

  • So right. People were yelling Bruuuuuce. As they were the night before when he played with the E street band.

  • this was my first Phish show. Could you ask for anything better? Loved every second of it.

  • Same, well Friday was, and it was amazing.

  • I was there...physically that is

  • The Boss!

  • Saw Phish 32 times in high school. Have seen Bruce 22 since 2003, and I've got another 6 coming up this year. Lovin' it... :)

  • great!!!!

  • Ride sally ride!

  • cool post

  • lost my fucking mind when i saw this live <3

  • hey chickenanthony just go watch yer fuckin nickelback videos you goddamn idiot. yer right I AM glad yer negative ass attitude didn't go to bonnaroo, don't need strokers like you there.

  • haha actually me and some of my friends caught the show front row at bonnaroo, took a couple doses, and had one of the best concert experiences that i had ever seen....they played better on their two shows at bonnaroo than at the previous four shows..and the light show was perfect for the venue and the tennesse sky....so next time dont hate just because your mom wouldnt buy your roo ticket.

  • Only thing that sucks more than Phish are their retarded phucked up fans, who can all kiss my ass!!!

  • what a thoughtful comment, thank you so much!

  • I like how you used the very phan phriendly "ph" when calling us all "phucked up" Thanks! that's so thoughtful!

  • Bruce's guitar playing was pretty solid, worth hearing the whole version. Camden and Asheville are the best back to back nights so far...so far. RedRox.

  • Anyone who doesnt think it was cool to see the Boss wail those three songs and before he came out we saw them put up the extra mike and all got stoked. Trey said that his first real concert he got to attend was in a gymnasium when he was 12. He said that the energy was so great that he thought every concert was that great but it was to this day the greatest he's ever been to. Then he introduced Bruce to Phish legendom. Dank

  • WOW! How awesomely MEDIOCRE!

  • you people are like hippie nazis. it is ok...and i love both bands. NJ FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • this was phish's festival all the way. this is totally phih's style as they have played with numerous gusts, from jz to kid rock etc. you gotta give it up for the boss, i saw this coming. and i follow the lines leading south. GLORY DAY'S CMON THATS SUCH A GREAT SONG EVEN IF YOUR NOT A FAN OF THE BOSS. WITCH I'M NOT BUT THAT WAS A STELLER PERFORMANCE

  • well said.

  • Dude, if you read my comment above (below?), you'll see I'm a die-hard fan, and E Street can jam when Bruce *feels* like it, but calling them the "epitome" of a jam band makes you sound extremely foolish (and yes, I have boots of the Darkness tour, bomb scare show, etc)

I was truly hoping he'd tailor the set for the crowd a bit by doing a 15 min. Kitty and the extended Tom Joad that was a staple for most of the current tour, but I guess he didn't see fit to do that...continued

  • ...but these guys do have the ability to jam when Bruce *feels* like. If any of you would like evidence of that, check out, "Springsteen - Kitty's Back Pt. 1."

And if you're already accustomed to jam music, it's not necessary for me to tell you to be patient, right?

You can decide for yourself whether to watch Pt. 2 or not.

  • jam fest? bruce doesn't jam? clearly you have NO idea what bruce's music is like. he is like the epitome of a jam band. just go listen to some early 70s stuff instead of born in the usa.

  • Bruce with Phish and then "

Waiting on A Sunny Day" with Conan's puppet dog at his side?--someone was doing some SERIOUS parthying with Trey and the boys Sunday night....

  • I did not go so I am going to bash phish and the boss online???????....not!

  • Well, apparently everyone has lost their minds! News Flash: Bonnaroo was and should remain a "JAM" festival. Nothing says "jam band" like Metallica (former years) And Bruce--god I cant stand him. What happened to you Bonnaroo...oh yeah you sold-out for $. Guess we should call this year "Bossaroo"---what a sad day for jam.

  • I'm not going to argue the point as to whether a jam fest should stay a jam fest or not - I'm pretty much a purist myself when it comes to these things. Having said that, I've seen Bruce and the boys 30-something times (and Phish more than that) and I can claim with no embarrassment whatsoever that he's the the greatest live entertainer there's ever been - and I've seen the Stones, Who, Floyd (w/ Waters), CSNY, Tull obviously - certainly the most consistent...

  • ...I'm sorry not to have been there as it will definitely never happen again.

  • "nothing says jam band like Metallica" REALLY?????????? I hope you're joking

  • It's called sarcasm, lace...read the entire post...ofcourse Metallica isn't jam....neither is Bruce.

  • True. Tom came out kinda dressed like Springsteen, with a red bandana on. It was awesome.

  • Born to Run was not played on the island tour!!PNC 99w/Tom Marshall

  • Was this the first Mustang Sally since 1988?

  • YAY!!!!!! What an epic moment! I love them both.

  • evry1 who knows phish should know that they are a buch of guys that grew up in the 70's&80's for the boss to sit in with them they where probly in aw as they use o listen to him when they where growing up and now there playing with him.

  • Surprised they didn't bust out Born to Run. Island Tour 1998.

  • I woulda never guessed this one, but looks like the boys had fun!

  • This was too hillarious, when Bruce would hit those really high notes....priceless, they pulled it off well

  • serious lulz at anyone who leaves early before phish

  • phish played a 3 hour set Friday (without Bruce) and a 3 1/2 hour set Sunday (with Bruce popping up).

i, also, had to leave by 8 Sunday night & missed Phish the 2nd time around. had to start the 12 hour ride back to delaware.

but i must say the first show was beyond amazing. but i would've loved to see them perform with Bruce Springsteen as well.

  • HAHA I agree. As we were walking to the show we were heckling all the ppl who were waiting in their cars to leave. "WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" "YOU KNOW PHISH IS PLAYING RIGHT?" "BAD DECISION"

  • Dude. I took a taxi to centeroo and shook my head in comic disbelief at said exodus. I was in the front row in front of Page for 3/4 of the show 7th for the first few songs. What a blessing! I have seen Phish many times, but i doubt i will get front row again. Thx Phish. P.S. I shared the front for short spells with people behind me. Unlike the dude and his chick on Friday That kept me in the 2nd row dead bleepin center from highway to hell on. Thank you video guy Thank you Phish.

  • dammit i wish i stayed for Sunday night. Fuucckk i had to leave

  • So were there for the whole thing and didn't stick around for the Main Event. Brilliant planning.

  • EPIC.

  • Left after Snoop, so I missed this. Anyone else sit in with Phish?
