I play d end and in my opinion the best way to get through the o line and to attack their back field is to line up on an strong outside shade on the tackle or tightend and to sprint pass their shoulder so that the only way they can block you is to hold you. If you're quick enough you will be able to get passed his body before he can get into a good position to block you.
Also a linebacker can use the spin move just not a defensive end. Because I play linebacker at UCLA and our linebacker coaches teach us the spin and etc.....
This is a horrible coach. First of all you just took yourself out of the play. Second of all you never spin on a run play. Thas a torn ACL right there. And third of all your standing straight up
@marcustank11 no it doesnt this is he worst excuse for a spin move that ive ever seen...1st of all the spin moves only effective occasionally in passing plays second of all he was way too high (you need to sink nd the blockers arms out with yours by swinging them back and that gives you momentum too
lmao when i found this out on my own i had bin goin up agaisnt the hardest guy and he would fall and hit the ground and he would be so mad cus im like hella new to football and hes bin makin all-stars for like 8 years now
@ChiimuZaRen I was a CB last season and done some DE stuff during official football matches. Ironically I was never on the field as CB or a FS. Coaches trust me to hit large people than to stop Receivers. And I'm only 5'6 and 141 lbs.
it would not be that easy i play defensive end and the o linemen in high school would know how to defend that right away the best move is the chop block in my opinion but this would for sure not work in high school!
i defensive end in high school and i now play offensive line in college this move does work on over aggressive offensive linemen but one think if you wanna play defensive end i think hand position and body lean would be the most important things to learn...
if u r playing agenst a guy thAT goes all out and trys to moe you over and keeps his head down then you want to do like a swim dodge but you have to make sure that they don't just nail you when ur exposed and then you can switch it up if it works
That was the worst attempt at a spin move I've ever seen. He needs to get a lot lower initially and sink his ass as he takes the initial drop step with the spin.
And don't get me started on that coach. Why would you come in with an all-out spin move if you might be playing the run? Ever heard of gap responsibilities? The only time you would come all out with a spin like that is if it was 3rd and long. The spin works best as a secondary pass rush move anyway, in my experience.
I play D end and an useful tip is whenever an O line men try's to put his hands on you swat em down as hard as you can..more effective if their not wearing gloves and you have long nails..
that spins sucked ass..can you say pancake?? you can use your arms dumbass to make the spin effective hes trying to use the fact that his back is turn so the lineman will stop o-line lay off and wait for your move most of the time you have to watch the stance to know what they are gonna do and you dont think you react thats how the line works anybody who says diffrent doesnt know football and can seen me a personal message saying why im going on my 6 year of football high and college
The key to a successful spin is to force the lineman to really commit to blocking you to the side you are making your primary move (I prefer the rip). Once the blocker has defeated the primary move, plant your inside foot, grab the blocker's outside arm, pull the blocker outward, while spinning into the blocker (like a violent basketball post position move), get your feet upfield toward the QB in a hurry and try to slap the blocker's back with your non-ripping hand when you come around.
"try to slap the blocker's back" old ball coach use to say "throw the ice pick in the tackles back." Don't forget that you have to reach with the spin leg or you're going to just spin like a top and wind up right in front of the tackle.
Good point about "slapping the back". My original attempt at posting was limited by the number of words I could use. I've never heard the "ice pick" example, but I may use it in the future!
all you guys are talking about how easy it is to beat the spin move. then why has dwight freeney beat pratically every o-lineman he has lined up against with it.
nice outside containment is key i have the strength for bullrush cause of my size and my power but im more of finesse anyone want to talk football i always wanted to help people out and im always willing to learn what i love
i spin all the time. it works good when you get cut off like that but when you are rushing the quater back you always spin from the opposite shoulder to are attacking. kind of hard to explain
Yeah if you spin standing straight up like that and not using ur arms you're gonna get lit up by the fullback when you get through the line. Rips do work a lot better IMO.
spins moves never work, they take too long the quarterback will easily throw the ball before you get there. Most of the stuff on this channel is shit.
yeah sure kid Im dumb. All a good olineman has to do is delay that spin or put you off balance a little bit and the quarterback will have plenty of time to throw the ball. It takes around 3 seconds for the qb to throw the ball on an average play. A spin is a very unbalanced move and all the lineman must do is make you stumble and you will not make the sack. A rip move is much quicker and better.
i know all you have to do is push up on the shoulder of their shoulder pads to screw them up. my coach told me to use that on offensive line, and never spin on defensive line
remember you can't be off balance because you won't know wat the heck is going on the tackle willl gain control and push you out the way that was''n a goog spin dnt knw why he said good
Never work. The defender must sell the rip/undercut and then spin using the o lineman for leverage and always gaining ground or you will just spin in place. Also, a good o lineman may spin also to combat this move.
Naw, a good o-lineman would punch that outside shoulder the defensive end in the spin. Good technique and hand placement can stop the spin, though (e.g. Orlando Pace).
that works some times. but not when you are as good as spinning as me. high school o-linemen cant really stop the spin that well because they dont see it that often
hey heres how to do a spin move
