I imagine some of the time the fault lies with one parent or the other, but, looking back at my parents' divorce, I imagine its more holistic usually. My father had issues with anger and control, my mother lied, exaggerating the problem to everyone, and coached us to lie too. He was intolerable - but not a monster. BOTH tried to tarnish the other. I only wish that someday my daughter will develop the wisdom that this girl has. The sad reality is that few alienated children develop the emotional maturity of this girl. You are wrong. Attorneys are not to blame. You have a justice system that would always act on the safe side. In family courts, he/she who make the accusations first would normally win, because you are guilty until proven innocent.

When the child makes the allegations, then that it for the accused, regardless of anything he/she says.

the judge would want to err on the safe side. By the time you realize the damage done to you, you are an adult not under the jurisdiction of the court.

Attorneys are bound by loyalty to their client. Judges want to be reelected. Psychologists have more business when there are claims of abuse, CPS stays in business only with claims of abuse or neglect, CASA employees would have to find another job if there are no claims of abuse. The system must survive on the remains of families. All of this would not happen if we institute a bright line custody rule: Children in tender years stay with mothers and after that with fathers.

I called the police and they told me not to even go to my wifes home because she could have me arrested for trespassing. I think what U mean is that a mom can also be a victim of someone alienating her child from her. This is true, but to say that the gender issue is 'neutral' is incorrect. Courts don't enforce laws to protect father / child bonds. And fathers make up the larger number of non-custodial parents. I know from personal experience that gender is very relevant.

@jhvenus2004 The statistics do show that women tend to perpetrate alienation from the father more than vice versa, and the courts tend more towards protecting the mother/child bond. But I still think it is best to be treated as a gender neutral issue. Otherwise when all the courts finally catch on to the fact that PA is real, the pendulum will swing too far, and ALL moms will be viewed as potential "alienators" by the courts (like how ALL dads today are viewed as potential "abusers"). Not good.

Man that really sucks, I just got off the phone with my ex and she told me that she was going to fight me tooth and nail that I don't get my own children for more than a couple of hours visitation with her there. And the court papers I have say I have partial custody. I pay over $1500 dollars a month for CS. I asked her why she would do that and she hung up the phone on me. I won custody of my children but after a four year battle my X was able to continue to manipulate my children and even was arrested for taking my kids out of state and not returning them and she had to be supervised twice. The courts went easy on her and she was allowed unsupervised contact with my children and had connections with a new judge and last Nov she was granted as the primary custodian and we now have joint custody after all she has done.

I have three children, and I was forced to move 400 miles away from them because I could no longer afford to pay my rent because of the crazy amounts of CS.
