  • the Renault Fuego was assembled in

    1980 – 1985 in Billancourt, France

    1980-1986 in Spain

    March 1982 – 1992 in Argentina

  • This car had me spell bound for 15 years during my lust for one and then ownership of two of them.

  • @newromantic888 do you still have it?

  • @newromantic888 No sadly I sold both of them in the end. I do miss them dearly though. Do you own one yourself?

  • yo tube un 85 con motor 2.2 no era frances

  • LOL, I think that car only had 120-140 hp. Also needs to be lowered.

  • in 1984 renualt fugo is the fastest car in Europe with three door

  • @marshalllucky They didn't give it the Spanish word for fire for nothing. They needed that speed to back the name.

  • ya ves

  • buy this and you too can pretend this metal box is a sleek f1 machine with 1300 horsepower

  • Had two Fuegos, a turbo and another one with injection....Still have the turbo :)

  • What memories! Had a one (not turbo), it was such a great car! I remember it was geared so low that it would smoke anything from stoplight to stoplight, obviously not over any distance, but it was fun to see the looks of surprise on people's faces who driving a Mustang or other sports car when I was downtown. The folks at the Auto parts store were always a bit agitated when I'd come in, everything had to be special ordered and usually twice to get the right part. HEHE!

  • great car

  • my dad had owned a 84 fuego turbo back in 1987-89 when I was a kid I know he did some adjustments to the wastegate . He did some work to the head also I do remember after he did the work this car would scream down the road.

  • Faster than a speeding snail!

  • @Lumotaku well duh!

  • if i heard this back in the day i wouldnt be tempted to buy one cause im scared of the music!

  • FUEGO GO GO GO !!!

  • my parent's had one when i was little. It was very fast. the thing i remember about it was the fuzzy dashboard. it was like velvet of something. I think they traded it in after AMC got bought by Chrysler.

  • The TURBO zone!!! LOL

  • sie

  • My dad had a turbo charged one in the 80s in zimbabwe and that lil car could haul some serious ass

  • Great advert!! Had a Fuego GTS in the eighties and it was a great car, now I have a Fuego Turbo, well and truly alive and kicking!

  • Can someone please tell, why France, is the only Western car-making country, that doesn't sell cars in the United States?

  • it was during 80's but now don't know why

but i hope french cars will find a place in USA market with peugeot 407 , 308 , citroen c4 c5 c6 renault megane laguna and so on , the most amasing are the citroen with hydractive (hydraulic suspensions ) check out thoses cars

  • that car becomes a legend here in argentina like the falcon and the chevy super sport.

    nice vid you rules

  • COoOL.

  • I used to love the fuego - a bit of a childhood hero of mine - I couldn't find one when I was old enough to drive so I went bought a Renault 11 turbo instead - went like shit of a shovel! - I think 11's were called alliance in the US - I have a 5 turbo now - The only thing it does well is not starting when its hot! - So much fun though!

  • That's true, renault did great turbocharged cars in the 80's: Renault 18 Turbo, Fuego Turbo, R11 Turbo, R5 GT Turbo and even the Renault 9 Turbo. Nobody know about the R9 Turbo but it existed! Great cars!

Oh, I've forgotten the best one, the R21 Turbo Quadra!

  • My dad owned a 2,0l Fuego and it was ugly :D Like a finnish car site says it was sportcar without any sporty characteristics :D

  • You forgot the renault 25 v6 turbo and alpine gta turbo!

  • im from venezuela, and i have a 1984 fuego, parts are still available here, its one hell of a car.

  • Renault Fuegos were awesome cars for their time. I loved mine. The turbo was a blast. I drove mine 80,000 miles without any major problems but parts and service became hard to come by. I wish Renaults were still available in the US. They were great cars.

  • If you think they're great cars, I've got one to sell you.

  • I had one of these from 82 to 87 and never had a problem with it except for the fuel pump went out at 47,000 miles. I changed the oil in it all the time and broke the engine in right, it was fun to drive. This car was used in one of the James Bond movies driven by chick bond was following. When AMC went under it was next to impossible to get certain parts for these, even the factory battery could not be found .

  • i remember my fuego turbo with the soft top.. cooked the engine and fried the turbo the second day..

  • We had one when I was a kid--truth be told we spent a lot of time with rental cars while the Fuego was in the shop. My dad always said "Renault is french For piece of shit!"

  • a les années turbo chez renault sa manque parfois. un bon moteur essence turbo...

  • it was bad but still a far good improvement from the renult 14

  • great commercial from the USA ! Never seen before... thnx for sharing and greetings from a European Fuego fan. :))

  • lol it's a funny ad tho hehe

  • lol compared to the old f1 turbo nice wanna drive it if it's still around :P

  • I love Fuego :o
