I can't believe my eyes, that this young person can skate as well as professional ice skaters. She is really amazing, and when I hear that music in the background i feel I'm in a good mood.

The one thing I love about Sasha Cohen is her flexibility. I thought no one can touch her on these positions. But here comes this girl! She's someone to watch out for. If figure ice skaters were flexible as Sasha and this young girl, I would watch it more often.  I hope in the future it would be required to be as flexible as this to gain full points. One can only hope the bar will be raised.

Почему? У нас в России такие судьи холуи. Вытягивают за уши Сотникову, только потому что в ее подготовке участие принимает Тарасова. Как не стыдно, ну ведь за рубежом не будет такого "честного" судейства и что тогда? Там авторитетом тренера не удивишь, там будут смотреть РЕЗУЛЬТАТ. А каково детям видеть эти закулисные интриги, боже когда мы научимся смотреть правде.

Her flexibility reminds me a bit of Sasha Cohen, who's skating I also liked. That straight-leg Biellmann type spin at the end hurt my back just to LOOK at! Wow!

@diehardHPfanforever "Surviving puberty" means that its hard for skaters when there so good and young and they hit puberty. Skaters will go through growth spurts, and their whole body changes in general. That can throw off alot of things. Ive seen skaters lose ALL of their tripples and relearn because they grew or filled out. Alot of your weight, height, and shape are VERY important in skating. When you go through puberty, you might just have to totally readjust your skating. :)

So far I have only seen Sotnikova, Tuktamisheva and Shelepen from this bunch of new Russian talents and they are really wonderful...but Julia is even more fantastic because of her speed and gorgeous spins. But there is something else too, she is more elegant than the others, only 12 here and still fluent. She seems to be more mature than her age. I have goosebumps too!!!:)

whats nice about her, is that although she has this amazing extreme flexibility, it doesn't really effect her jumps. a good example of what I mean is Caroline Zhang. Julia LIPNITSKAYA has got a good strong jump technique and some really unique spins and spirals. Lovely to watch, right?
