I wish my job was cool enough for a child to imitate, unless there's a kid out there who enjoys pretending to work at a computer all day like a mindless vegetable, putting up with office politics and idiots. lol
Wow! That's interesting. Seeing your age now and your age in the film, I'm guessing this was filmed some time in 1975. Do you know or remember? Did Sesame Street go to your parents house and film this? Do you remember doing it? You were pretty cute but not the best drummer I ever saw. LOL ! I've heard from about four other people who were either on Sesame Street or played an instrument in the background musical piece to a skit. Anyway, thanks for your comment!
I'm glad I know about the film now. Anyway, are you working in a job similar to what you are doing in this film, are you working elsewhere or are you currently laid off?
This has got to be one of my favorite and most well remembered skits from my childhood- ( I had to be about 3 or so! ) I still really dig this 70's music XDDDD thanks for this!
Two more things I would like to mention: 1. It looks like the adult chef is saying something when he is tasting his food. Is it 'bon,' the French word for 'good'? Just wondering. 2. Like JayeG mentioned, the girl on the drums was 'too cute.' Like the 'J - Jump for Joy' song by Joe Raposo, this brings me to tears (almost!).
I remember this - especially the change in tempo, as others have noted, when the bulldozer is featured. For some reason, the music here reminds of another Sesame Street skit 'Do You Know What Backwards Means?' This one might not have an electronic score, but the music's overall 'mood' is upbeat and groovy.
The funny thing is that the only thing I remember about this clip was the music tempo changing with the construction lady. That 4 seconds has stuck in my head over these past 30 years. Strange what the mind remembers.
"If all you liked to do as a kid was watch TV, the only job you'd be happy with as an adult is...couch potato." *groan* Still, this is a pretty good film...four stars!

I have ALWAYS remembered this skit. This was awesome! As for the little girl playing drums, GO NEIL!
uofmrules1 4 years ago
uofmrules1, When you say 'Neil, ' do you mean drummer Neil Peart of the music group Rush? Or Neil Young, or another Neil? Just curious. Thanks.
d72jjpilc 4 years ago
Um, yes I mean Neil Peart. Big Rush fan here.

I always used to think that boy imagining he was a chef was eating dirt out of a flower pot! Thanks!
