@f22acefighter My friend, F-22 program is on its last legs, military analysts say if the airforce doesn't prove its combat ready by november 2012 it will most likely be cancelled forever.
@f22acefighter there aren't anymore F-22 IN STABLE production (kindly to no tell tha they are FIRED from production:P)... USA need a replacement, cheaper, and upgraded the f-15, meanwhile the f-35 project is going to be a shit-plane (alias: the winged coffin, with no ecms or fire extinguishers, to save weight), to have air superiority and not let bombers going down like fly...
... and russians made their stealth-fighter actually a match for both f-22 and f-15updated...
@f22acefighter Nooo... The F-22 production is pretty much over because it's too expensive to build more then 187 of them.
This version of the F-15 will likely sell over 100 aircraft total if they can convince coustomers there's still life in the F-15.
It has reduced frontal RCS -- not true stealth, but more useful IMHO --, a higher weapons load than the F-22, and capability for internal weapons in that modified CFT.
Big things going for it -- combat record and reduced price.
@platinum243125 Ironically if it wasnt for these jets you wouldnt have the freedom to make such an assisine comment, if you want the national debt to go down get all those drug dealers off welfare and get all the illegals out of the country !!!
@Toddie4usa5 You know, most of the freeloaders on welfare are white. Drug dealers need to go. BTW, you white people are on our turf. Mexico used to own land form california to texas, so you are technically kicking us off our own lands.
@f22acefighter ... hardware supports and spare parts when they need them.
The Russians have technically good airframes and engines BUT lousy customer service and support. Countries bought Sukhois and MiGs from them in the 80's and 90's but the planes sat on the ground as much for lack of spare parts -- Russians didn't deliver when promised because of internal problems in the CIS -- as inexperienced pilots and lack of training exacerbated by the lack of spares.
@Icarusdecending82 Those last two points have cost Eurofighter and Rafale a number of sales. They're not much cheaper than the F-22 and have no combat record to speak of, either.
Potential customers want to know they're getting the best. Several countries wanted to buy the F-22 but the Pentagon thought it was too risky to export. Naturally, you'd think the EF2000 would be next on buy lists but countries are looking for a track record and guarantee they can get good....
Was cool but the should add Trust vectoring like the F22 or perhaps like the SU35 that have a ful 3D Thrust vectoring, that system increase se turning ability by far... The Europeans are trying to put Trust vectoring to the Eurofighter, they go as far as They have ney prototypes of the EJ200 with thrust vectorin capabilities so why US dont do the same with the F15SE?n let me gess... BECAUSE IS FOR THE EXPORT MARKET ANF THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO BY IT!
The F-15SE is not really competing with the F-22. The U.S have no plans to sell the F-22 to another country at this stage, the F-15SE will more then likely be bought by other countries then the U.S.
@mirageDart Yes. The left one is the prototype of Boeing and the right one is the prototype of Lockheed. Boeing lost the competition and the Lockheed F-35 was chosen for the new JSF.

Boeing needs to drop fighter aircraft and focus more on UAV technology. The future is smart planes that are not restricted by human anatomy.

If the congress would have funded this (and not the ATF) then you would have a lot less debt to put up with.

Think about this. It's a lot easier to put thruse vectoring on a missle than on a aircraft.
