the battery thing is true. happened to me and i just took it out and put it back in.

Its the battery. There was someone with the same problem in a forum saying when you slam it closed the battery may wiggle a little and the phone turns off. Im pretty sure he just took the batter out and put it back in. Someone else said the put a piece of paper back there to make it snug. I dont have this problem at all though. sorry.

you got a defective one, its going to happend not all of them will be perfect. i work there not many defective Pre's by the way. sorry to hear that tho =0[
