vent does not belong to wow, vent is a seperate program and can be used with any game or even without a game at all.

is archmage or sorceress any good in PvP? they are the main classes im thinking about

Archmage and Sorc. primarily deal in DoT's and are one of the easiest classes to kill in the game. That is, of course, unless you're very talented with your heals, which is usually unlikely, but if you are, I'd imagine you'd do very good, but by "very talented" I mean know when to run....which is ALWAYS. They have top-range for a reason, they die very very easily. Also, on a side note, Archmages, (Idk about sorc.) are more 1v1-suited for PvP/RvR, meaning they get no AoE's. My main was an ArchM.

thanks :) i bought the game and i have a level 20 archmage now and i think i do pretty well at it. I think im more suited for a RP though, because i usually stick back and heal rather than do damage. i might play around with the other high elf classes though, ive been liking them in their earlier stages so i might see what they're like level 10+

Actually it's a PUG zerg, that's why only a nuke push is happening...

DPS classes are as tricky as any other to PvP - since you'll not 2-shot anyone in WAR. While healers heal(!!!) and tanks have to keep enemies close, ranged DPS has to kite, root, interrupt heals, detaunt, break LoS, keep LoS, etc.

Just a different style. To each his own.

u honestly have to try it urself, i played beta and it is by far a shit load better than the Hunter from WoW. He's prolly long range spec but i was scirmish/long range spec and it was the best ranged experiance ive ever had. And it is hard as hell to master as well. U gotta learn ur seroundings, tactics (ingame and from ur own knowledge), and other group members. They can down a sorc in about 10 sec if they have vengence and know wat moves to use. :)

I played a sorc and I agree with what you are saying about ranged dps. There are no long term CC spells so you need to be constantly moving and kiting and such. Even though you are not going to die from 2 hits, you still cant spend time being smashed by melees. It was challenging and very balanced between being too strong from afar and too weak from in close.
