  • is this only fpr ceremonial occasions? when i went to ottawa, there were no guards at that monument and we got up nice and close to it

  • @soapbox187 From what I understand, it is manned during the tourist season

  • i've been watching the guard changes at the unknown soldier tombs for a few hours now, it's kind of funny seeing how each country does it differently. just personally, the Eastern Europeans are the most interesting. they just look like clockwork machines clicking into place. not to imply any favouritism or disregard for one country over another. just an observation.

  • @z0mb1nat3r I would agree with that accessment...

  • nichtausDeutschlan - it's called Freedom of Speech. Something your name states you've only had for 70 years. Feel free to disagree and be wrong! read my lips - I will not be replying further. If you want to waste your time replying feel free. It will be a waste of time as I have life which does not include answering fools who only appreciate kack! She is grim - full stop!

  • All you fucking idiots that say I'm wrong. Have a look at 13 seconds - bending the knee to do a movement. Have a look at 20 seconds where she doesn't even LIFT the knee. You fucking morons! fyi I am NOT an American which is why I'm criticising! The Canadians are normally shit hot with drill - she however is not. Now go and get a life.

  • R.I.P from the U.S

  • Why in the name of all that is good on this earth, is "Celine Thundervomit Dion" playing in the background for the first 25 seconds? What an insult to humankind.

  • i really never knew what these guys are i thought they where just the funny guys in the movies that never laugh or stair i never knew until now and i apologize.......does every country have a honor guard, (or called differently in other countrues) but im from the us and people dont have respect here and try to cross over on to the grave like ass holes and the people can be arrested....what happend there and can they hit/shoot any one that discrases the grave???

  • kurebis1 - TWAT? Me?? Reas all the comments you arsehole - proves you are a pure cretin and know nothing re Drill. Am surprised you can spell mysoginist - mind you Google's a good tool. Unlike you who is simply a tool! Do NOT reply - I have a life. btw Just because you insult doesn't make her look good - she doesn't!

  • wtf happened on 2:14 lolll

  • horrible drill by the chick..

  • Look at the female at 12secs : 21 secs ; 38 secs. Pathetic amount of body movement.

Kurebis! I was probably doing this stuff before you were born mate. So keep quiet and be thought and idiot rather than spouting crap and proving it. That female should NOT be allowed near something as sensitive as Memorial duty - full bloody stop!

  • @andygr62 dont disrespect our women just because youre a mysoginistic twat. we wont go to videos from whereever you are and rag on your troops, dont rag on ours.

  • i'm a current guardsmen at the tomb and i wear a grenadiers uniform. we do drill for 4 weeks straight, all day just for this. we know our shit. we have a full platoon of below-average height people and their drill meets the high ceremonial guard standard. unless you can do this duty, which you can't, maybe you should shut the fuck up and stop talking about things you don't know about. we do this as respect for the fallen and in canada, we dont guard it 24/7 because our people respect the tomb.

  • Her pants are too short. She doesn't belong there

  • I'm afraid the female just proves that women do NOT look good in ceremonial dress. She is far too short (looks silly) - her drill is awful! If she can't do the drill movements without moving her body she should NOT be there. It lessens the solemnity of the Changing of the Guard. She stands out for all the wrong reasons. More drill exercise is needed. Bending the knee to come to attention??? Please!

  • @andygr62 That's how we come to attention in the Canadian Forces, Britain, Australia..... See a pattern here?

  • @NatoBro females suck at everything military..thats why we call them wookies brah

  • @CaptTMoney That's quite the blanket statement. After 27 years in, I have come to know quite a few women that can hold their own. And not all men do "everything military" great either.

  • @CaptTMoney You are a waste of sperm.

  • @andygr62 This a very good drill preformance. May I ask you, what country are you from, and if you are in any forces? If you are not from the british commonwealth, then please, SHUT UP! You have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @andygr62 agreed. formerly, guards had to be a certain height. ah the good old days. it's just not intimidating when, WITH her bearskin cap, she is shorter than the other guards WITHOUT theirs hahaha.

  • @andygr62 You mean raising the leg to a 90 degree angle parallel to the ground to come to the position of attention?

    ~Thanato

  • @andygr62 hey fuck you buddy

    /watch?v=VYbsyl3Uew8

  • @andygr62 the uniform was made for the male body type.....

  • @andygr62 You've proven you don't know anything if it's not done the AMERICAN way.

  • @andygr62 Who are you to criticise?

  • Guard on far right is..... a Woman! Check tits at 0.35

  • my brother was on a class trip to ottawa and was standing on the tomb cuz he dodnt know what it was and he got in trouble. :D

  • Nice hats lol

  • Too bad those ugly, poorly dressed people ruined your footage.

  • Slowing down the movement would really dignify the ceremony a lot more.

Still, liked it on the whole.

  • @000MrAnderson US Guards walk like they've forgotten to take their buttplugs out

  • @drunkest100 You drunk loser...I bet you know what buttplugs are all about don't ya. Go back in you're parents basement and play some video games in your underwear some more. Take your YooHoo and some chips. Don't come out for another month until its time to get your Grunge era haircut redone. I bet you don't even stand up straight anymore do ya?

  • @NeilLB7 Have I said something that offended you?

  • It was around 5 oclock and i was just in ottawa and they had military people dressed in the blue air force attire? It was the same but different uniforms. DOes anyone know why this would be? Ill post the video tommorow

  • Very nice and dignified.

  • Every county guards their tomb according to their own traditions. None is better then another.. ALL of these ceremonies must be respected.

  • please listen to this guy/girl. this person has a point all our militaries have different ways of guarding a tomb. we should all respect the fallen soldiers and stop fighting about whos guards are best

  • I think you have the stack of posts confused.. you are echoing my previous post

  • exactly my point. i just think they dont get it throught their heads.

  • Is it guarded at all times? I mean ALL THE time? Anyways nice video!

  • I think so, yeah. A couple of friends of mine are on the ceremonial guard this year and they say its a 24/7 occasion. Bloody right, too.

  • During the summer it is guarded all day, i dont think it is at night but during the winter they don't do it. They have them at rideau hall, the parliament building, and the tomb of the unknown for sure maybe other places.

  • 9 to 5 I believe.

  • I can't believe some of the shit I'm reading here. Yes, they were perfectly in step. One's carrying a clipboard in the opposite hand so what do you want? Him to swing the fucking arm holding the clipboard? I've seen the Changing of the Guard in Canada, America, and Britain. They're all great. I'm a Canadian soldier and I know the guys up there on parade give it 110. So take your "USA all the way" bullshit somewhere else.

  • well said.

  • true that bro

  • I hope the dirty bastard who pissed on that comes back and they hang the useless twit right there and we will make a grave next to it for the public to piss on.

  • amen

  • I agree.

Pissing on this is 100% unacceptable.

I hope every single Canadian soldier who has lost his life for Canada has a kick at that a**hole when his time comes.

God bless Canada and our soldiers.

  • They should do what they do to the amercian tomb. GUARD IT 24 FUCKING 7 so this never happens

  • God Bless Canada

  • This is nice indeed, but I still like the one in Moscow, Russia the best.

  • Moscow's is by far the most uniform and disciplined in the world. I think all Guard Regiments do a fine job, but you can't beat Russia's. The US's is great too, but try keeping in complete step while goosestepping. I'd say its impossible, but the Russians do it. A fine show.

  • Ever seen the russian changing of the guard, it looks insanely stupid, the changing of the guard for america, they guardsmen checks EVERY single spot on the uniform and on the rifle, one little tiny spot, they are sent back to there barracks to clean it.

  • I've seen both in person. Both are striking, and as much as I love the USA, all I can say is that the Moscow ceremony is far better. Of course, they're two different styles and implementations, not to mention two different levels of discipline. I mean no disrespect to the 3d Regiment at Arlington, but I simply love the Russian one better.

  • The americans may check the gun and attire but they walk like they need a pee and they do not march. The americans twirl a gun around and thats the most of it but that is not what makes it where as the Russians wth other European militaries get it perfect and are the best among other European militaries changing of the guards.

  • Eastern Europe has some of the best for sure.

  • No we just have a different style of march. We use a roll march. Its one way to keep the body from bouning each step.

  • every single army does that you stupid civie...they teach you that in basic

  • The British, Russians and Greeks are the most diciplined. The European soldiers are the best at marches.

  • The Greeks may be very disciplined, but the mere fact that they look absolutely foolish doing it completely defeats the purpose in my opinion. They certainly are not at par with the others you mentioned, nor the Americans.

  • They can't even stay in step with each other. The american one is better.

  • About 200x better.

  • They ARE in step with each other, the entire way. This posting was bang on. In case you didn't realize, the posting corporal has a board in his left hand while the sentries have rifles in their right. That's why their arms don't swing the same. Also, they cut their arms when climbing the steps up to the tomb.

Clearly, you don't know what you're talking about.

  • Looks much better than the Changing of the Guards in the U.S.!!

  • globetrotter you are way wrong! This changing of the guard does not even compare to the U.S. changing of the guard ceremony, ours is much more professional and crisp looking.

  • yeah, that´s what I meant!!

  • you don't make any sense.

  • you neither!!

  • please tell me how I am not making any sense?

  • You are telling, that this changing of guard is much more professional than the one in the U.S.! And on the other hand, you say that I am making any sense although I also said before, that the Canadian one looks better (in the sense of more professional) than the one in the United States!!

  • What? Can't you read? My other comment says OUR changing of the guard is more professional, and your comment says THEIRS is more professional. You got some problems son!

  • Okay, so you must be an American - but I can tell you: This looks more historic and not as trashy as the american version...

  • No shit I'm an American! Tell me, I'd love to know, what is "trashy" about the American version? I personally think ours is the best in the world.

  • OK, thats your opinion - but there are a lot of people who think different than you!! Accept it!

  • You didn't tell me what is so "trashy" about the American version yet.

  • Just to end this argument...The Candian one is shit. The Soldier to the right wasn't even in step with the other. The American one is better because it is much more hallowed and revered, while it is a fact that the Canadian one is more of an afterthought.

  • When are they not in step?

  • Hallowed and revered bull. I've seen it. The ranking soldier actually tells the crowd what they are going to see, as if it's a circus. Then he spends a few minutes idiotically flipping a guard's rifle around to "inspect" it. All the while, wearing sunglasses for crying out loud. What you blindly find patriotic, the rest of the world tends to think of as a sideshow.

  • You my friend are a retard. Why is America's the only one anyone has ever heard of you twat? I've been to over 25 countries in 5 continents and have never seen such respect for the fallen as America has. It just doesn't exist anywhere else. So go stick your tiny pecker in a light socket. That might be a better show, no?

  • You do know that we are not trying to be like america, obviously its a british thing. and the rest of the world can think what ever the fuck they want. best part is, not 1 person in this country gives a shit about what the rest of the world finds apealing. it isnt for the rest of the world to see. I dont go mouthing about the mistakes the americans make. Niether does anyone else. No one even watches the video to point that shit out.

  • Why is the "SGT of the Guard" (if that's what he is?) moving his arm opposite that of the 2 in front of him while marching??

  • He's the posting corporal, and he swings the different arm because he's holding his posting board instead of a rifle. If you look closely, the piper in the front swings his arm with the posting corporal.

  • Are they from CG? I was in CG in 2000,but never heard such kind of duty.

  • I dont think anyone guards the unknown quite like the Honor Guard in D.C.

  • i hate to admit it but i agree with you,in D.C it seems to have a lot more hard core discipline,i checked out the D.C one on here and it actualy choked me up.they put a lot more emotion into it.

  • In DC at the U.S tomb they truly do "Honor" the UnKnowns in every sense of the word. SALUTE

  • have they even faught in any wars??

  • Are you moron? Go read a book and learn something. Read the years on the tomb 1914-1918. Hmm...what might that mean? World War I, jackass. They've fought in other wars and conflicts as well.

  • sorry, im a 9th grader in high school and we've never learned about that. oh WW1!!! well there involvment probably wasnt even biga

  • They were in WWI longer than the USA was. They fought alongside the British...Canada was still part of the British Commonwealth at the time.

  • That isn't exactly wise for Ottawa to have a ceremonial guard 365 days a year seeing as our winter weather is quite brutal. But it is guarded the rest of the year (minus summer) by police and commissionares.

  • In the United States our unknown war dead are guarded 24hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year...

  • Nice to hear. The Canadian Ceremonial Guards are only on guard during the summer because they are comprised entirely or Canadian Forces Reservists. Seeing as many Reservists are students or adults with full-time jobs and often must do training, they simply cannot be on guard 365 days a year. Not to mention Canada's winters lol.

  • Outsie of the weather, there is no country better!

  • i agree,about the country AND the weather,LOL.

  • Long live Canada the greatest country in the world!!!

  • I am one of them ! :D

  • Thats Professional, good work guys!

  • When you take this one ?

  • During August 2007
