  • Many theories..but of all the drugs in the world..why would you choose "huffin"..I mean really??? Sniffing paint..Damn Tony.

  • And boys II Man they were ok with they in love ass

  • Stop hating on their suits assholes and you dummy hi-five can be compared to new edition old ass they were just as talented as they were dumb ass who wrote that one comment like I said this grown folks music so little kids stop hating

  • The day Arsenio invited Louis Farrakhan on his show he was through in Hollywood, Jews own Hollywood and they were very offended when that happen

  • that coat was too big for him he sounds great tho r.i.p to him

  • No voice like Tony in today's music, now every lil faggot wonna sound like R Kelly

  • Sometimes marginally talented people have to bow out early due to their retarded taste in chemicals. If the dumbass had been into weed or psychedelics, there would be no need for all this 'rest in peace' crap.

  • @motealiso marginally talented I can tell you are nothing but a white boy hater who is minding black voice business but outt of our music cracker and go back to that foul shit you white folks call music

  • WOw! Live singing that is actually so good it gives you goosebumps!

  • great performance

  • This is real music rest in peace Tony and all the best to all the others in this group

  • that suit is waay to big lol, 90s fashion gotta luv it... i had the biggest crush on him back then and was stunned to hear abt his passing, all i thought was didnt he know how many people still loved him but i guess for some love alone cant get you through

  • What happened to Tony Thompson? What was the cause of his death?

  • @chigal09 It was an appearent drug overdose.

  • Two groups of people that I miss these days, Arsenio Hall and High Five. High Five was so good back then, them dudes could really sing! And, the Arsenio Hall Show, that was the late show of all late shows then. Unfortunately, time has a way of undoing a thing, breaking it down into nothing. Still, they were great in their day:)

  • Hi-Five is like the definition of UNSUNG personified. They really were a very talented group of vocalists! Tony T. had such a pure voice! It's kind of unfortunate they sort of got lost in the shuffle with the onslaught of so many guy/girl groups burning up the charts in the early to mid 90s.

Even though their career wasn't very long, they definitely made an impact that's still rippling with fans to this day. #RestWellTony.WeMissU

    Thanks for positng!!

  • Arsenio is a nice guy.

  • I miss these days:(( i had crush on all these boy groups

  • R.I.P. Tony, but dang that jacket is three sizes too big. Was he getting high during these days because he is really sweating!

  • @yesitisme1971 1) The jackets were purposely too big, it wasn't the style at the time. 2) It's hot on stage hence the reason for his sweating. Don't jump to conclusions.

  • @karey26 Tony and Treston also accidentally ended up wearing each others jackets for this performance.

  • R.I.P. Tony, but dang that jacket is three sizes too big.

  • These guys were realy legit. They had great vocals, the harmony was tight, and Tony was one of the best live singers.

  • I love this group and special Tony's voice it a great loss and I miss Tony

  • THEM JACKETS LOOK TO BIGG

  • Hi-Five needs to tell their story on film.

  • Special performance by Treston Irby of Hi-Five

February 26th @ Nine Lounge in Queens, NY

    Hit me up for details

  • why r they wearing their fathers suit jackets

  • dont get me wrong tony could sing but can you name 5 hi five songs.? They werent the best group of their era, maybe you liked them but to put them in the class of New Edition and Boys to men is an insult. those groups are multi platinum and ave multi albums under their belts. So sorry Tony died but lets not make him or the group more than they were.

  • @MrGj41 Ummmm, Hi-Five had ALOT of good songs. Just because they weren't singles doesnt mean they werent good. That whole first album was excellent. The second one was great. The third one was good, but not as good as the first two. Everybody back then had their own lane. Hi-Five was more young-new jack R&B with Teddy Riley and a early R. Kelly producing/writing. B2M was a differnt type of group, as was Jodeci, etc.

  • Man HI-FIVE IS STILL UNDOUBTELY MY FAVORITE BOY GROUP....INSPITE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO TONY T. I STILL LOVE MY BOYZ!!!

  • Yeah, Tony had a beautiful. God rest his soul. This was a jam. Miss Arsenio Hall because he had all the groups on back in the day.

  • Awww ...Tony was so adorable & so talented! R.I.P dear

  • Which one committed suicide?

  • I gotta admit, Treston's freestyle goes hard!

  • RIP TONY... THIS MY SHIT T HERE

  • oh crap, the jumbo-sized CD boxes!

  • So sad...he was so talented. R.I.P. Tony

  • I always liked Hi-Five more than Boys 2 Men. Tony Thompson had the voice of choice.

  • R.I.P. Tony!!!!

  • Arsenio my man man

  • That's why it's so good to record shows/performances! I have so many and I'm glad, now I have to put them on DVD.

  • whoooo whooo whooo

  • Damn man, at 2:20-2:25 tony hit those notes really well! I definitely agree. My Tony had such Talent. Most artists nowadays sound like straight up trash live on stage. BUT this right here, you can't touch this! GO TONY! (R.I.P)

  • Ah!! That old formula for success... good real singing, good choreography, dressing alike so you at least look like a group and not waiting for a solo contract to come along

  • Why is music absolute crap nowadays? This is back when music actually mattered. RIP Tony

  • fucking FRESH!!! damn, the vocals were effortless...NOW THAT'S STRAIGHT UP TALENT!!!

  • amazing live performance...what a truly gifted vocalist TT was...rip

  • It's been said many times, but it can never be enough, R.I.P. Tony, you are missed.

  • rip tony thompson

  • that was also nice how they backed him up cuz he looked so nervous, treston did realllly good and they was gettting it. this is deff going into my favorites!!!

  • tony sounded so good Live.... he was such a talented person.

  • I would love to see a revival of 90s r&b music: however 90s fashion needs to stay in the 90s.....we wore some hideous stuff back then.

  • Tony looks like he took Shaq's prom jacket!

  • hilarious!

  • haa haaa

  • ROTFL!!!! U ain't lied about that. I look at some of the stuff I was wearing, and wonder what I was going through!

  • Thos jackest were terrible! However I loved these guys real R & B RIP Tony!

  • Thats what I call live performance no bull or playback buddies!! damn why music got soo fake lately??? technology as destroy real soul music forget the rest guys thats real.......please comment back...are you with me???

  • t pain may be hot right now but i think he is destroying the music , i miss artists like hi five, guy and jahiem and new edition as well as the boyz and babyface

  • Although this maybe true, music always evolve... sometime into things we don't really like lol. But if there was a market for this, it would sell. I think. Tony was sooooooo cute. R.I.P

  • every1, they were wearing the jackets purposely 3 sizes too big. call it their fashion statement. kind of like Kriss Kross wearing their clothes backwards.

  • hi five smashed this (and RIP TONY THOMPSON)

    he will be dearly missed

  • And yeah that jacket was damn HUGE! LOL

  • tony has influenced me soooo much. i remember singing his song and asking somebody 'don't i sound like tony'? that suit jacket was way too big for him back then. rip tony you are NOT FORGOTTEN.

  • Fa Real Eh?? Lol

  • That was such a good era in music .............

    my how time flies.

  • RIP Tony! I grew up listening to these guys! It's sad how someone with so much talent had to go out the way he did.

  • wow their jackets r madd big on them! lol its ok tho i love hi-five i didn't kno they were so good live!!!

  • OMG i loved these boys, I had the biggest crush on Tony, love his voice RIP

  • ahhhh....2 b young again when i was totally crushing on Tony.

  • first time i heard TT sing live... wow... sounds better than the cd

  • yeah I agree..Tony is very good live..very well done..

  • Tony's voice was effortlessly brilliant! I haven't seen a live performance of this magnitude in a very long time. Damn Tony, why did you have to leave us?!!! :(

  • Damn this boy could sing!.....R.I.P. TT

  • r.i.p. tony

  • That dude could sing. You hear how quiet the audience is. Everyone just wants to hear him sing.

  • The suits on these bitches is too big for them!! UG, AS IF!!!

  • somebody is missing, its 5 guys in hi five

  • Yeah Roderick "Pooh" Clark was missing. I think he had a motorcycle accident or something.

  • Damn I used to love Tony...RIP...I used to have dreams I was going to marry him.

  • OMG...That jacket was HUUUUGE. 90's fashion =( ...anyway, I always like this group a lot...Tony Thompson was the man. RIP.

  • TONY ROCKED IT!!!

  • I just noticed its only Hi 4 in this vid. Looks like Roderick "Pooh" Clark was absent on this one. The guy who does the rap is Treston Irby.

  • RKelly used to write songs for them...like Quality Time. He might have written this one too

  • Nope this one was written and produced by Timmy Allen. R Kelly wrote and produced 4 songs on this cd - Quality Time, A Little Bit Older Now, Lets Get it Started and Video Girl.

  • man his voice is sooo classic............ it has a sunday morning feel to it !!

  • like Tony voice. I used to try to sound like him grownin up singing, lol.

  • thanks for the memories

  • RIP Tony Thompson. His vocals were soo powerful & strong. Hi-Five was a talented group. Great performance.

  • 3:54 i use that step to this day 2009

  • LOL! You wrong for that!

  • classic!

  • Damn I miss the Arsenio Hall Show and real R & B music that domninated the airwaves during this era. I miss Hi Five, NE, Guy, Soul For Real, SWV,Jodeci, and real R & B. Damn this T Pain shit

  • lol I second that cuz my music library contains mostly music from the 90s aside from the mess that my brother be downloading

  • Tony had the best live singing voice! He was a true talent

  • DAMN big @ss suits

  • lool Extra 48 large size.

  • I LUV IT!!

  • Umm, where's the other member?

  • man in 2004 hi 5 did a show for Langston university's homecoming in oklahoma city i was there ill naver forget. RIP tony

  • in very sad i miss you tony , i love hi five -you gone too soon ...fronm venezuela... ill remenber you...bro. oejj

  • This sounds better than the CD version and hes not even lip syncing!!!

  • R.I.P. Tony Thompson!!! A gifted, gifted singer!!! Very Sad. :-(

  • They were jamming on Arsenio! And I liked their all girl live band, a rarity against male-driven live bands. I still remember that performance. It helped get Hi-Five to a large audience. Another thing in that clip--when CDs used to be in those long boxes, as Arsenio introduced the group. It's now wrapped in plastic today.

  • yea! someone noticed the all-girl band !! DC in the house... I enjoyed playing that song.

  • i don't think their suits are big enough. a tad snug...

  • better then NE not even close

  • you right!!..i would say 112, Silk, Boyz 2 men first if you were to compare....But likin hi five was like being a fan of Tony Thompson cause he did a lot....So much love to him RIP

  • Better than NE, are you out of your mind! Tony can sing, but you have to check your head if you think they are better than NE. Your comparing a one record hit group to a Multi Platinum Records (Plural) to NE! Seriously grow up.

  • lol maybe i did go a little overboard. Wouldnt it be cool if tony and ralph were both lead singers for new edition! that would make hit records!

  • Hi Five was hot but better than NE? That is a stretch. One word. Longevity. NE had that for a reason.

  • Well let me say this, they're better than new edition in their "candy girl" years.

  • I think that New Edition obviously had better overall singers as a group...and they had longevity...but Tony Thompson was def in a league of his own..he cud truly blow..if you surround him with singers Hi Five would of lasted longer...

  • @dizasta15 yeah really wit youtube around its exsposing artists lil secrets cause hi five was really a one man show i mean we didnt even notice back then that most of the time there were only four members the other guys were just there 4 show so if tony were surrounded by real singers no tellin what would have happened they might could outlasted ne and anyway ne didnt really last they washed up after can u stan the rain and now there still feeding off that but i loved them 2

  • @cherilyn6 yea, i am noticing that tony is really singing, but the other members are just the recorded track in the background... damn, thats a shame...

  • @SAVSTATENIG yeah type in unconditional love performance and listen to the guys lypsyncing to tonys backround vocals tony sang lead and background on that song and i never noticed it back in the day

  • BETTER THAN NEW EDITION!!!

  • I wish someone would post all thier live performances on youtube since there so rare to find, this group needs to be recognized and respected like the awesome band they were

  • RIP LiL T....this was my fav group...I still play this cd...

  • Thanks for this post! I miss that dude so much. There will never be another Tony Thompson. May he rest in peace. "Tomorrow may never come... For all we know." - Donny Hathaway/Tony T.

  • Dang, I remember when this aired..the group was damn HoT and great singers. Tony will be well missed!

  • r.i.p. Tony Thompson

  • Okay when they broke out in that dance---that was HOT! I'm trying my BEST not to cry through their songs and it's not easy. They were so GENUINE! It's SO SAD that one of their members is no longer here with us today. Boys to Men got their style from them and I'm so grateful that they did. There are VERY few groups that dress in unison and sing in unison today. We were and are so BLESSED to have lived, witnessed and experienced moments with groups such as this one...

  • WELL said!

  • @juswan2003 yeah funny u should say that boys to men did reconize that hi 5 was a force to be reckoned wit

  • Tony thompson was a really good singer. Its rare that a lead singer of a boy band could actually sing

  • True

  • he fine! but that jacket is to big for him lol

  • Did U notice it was only 4 of them onstage is this when Pooh was in the bad car wreck

  • i remember seeing them in concert at sixflags in arlington,tx w/ tlc brings back good memories

  • Tony could sing.

    We missing you, Tony.

    R.I.P.

  • Brings back better times!!! I loved them especially Tony!!! RIP Love

  • that was just the style back then. Everyone did their own thing back then. kris kross did their backwards baggy thing and others experimented with different colors and sizes of their clothes.

  • Someone else purchased the clothes in poor taste and inadvertently mis-judged Tony's size. He had to perform anyway. That's show business.

  • looks like they shopped at steve harvey fasions.

  • Suit is too big

  • r.i.p. tony thompson

  • Maaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnn... This song.

  • I didn't know this was back on my dad did sound for hi-five back in the day thanx 4 posting
