Adolf Hitler the Austrian Dictator of Germany & Axis Europe never even went to visit his Cities and so called people, After the Allies would raid. I din't acquire my knowledge of history from Youtube. I liked through and experienced the war at first hand. I walked among the death pits in Bergen Belsen in June 1945 and subsequently lived in Germany for nine years after the war. The RAF wouldn't have had to resort to firebombing cities if they had...

1.) A proper bombsight (they could have attacked by day) -- though they had later used the H2S, by that point mental inertia set in and firebombing was the way

2.) A good long-range fighter for escort (there was a pervasive belief that such a fighter would be too big and unmaneuverable -- the P-38 and P-51 proved this wrong. Ironically, even the US didn't believe in using escort fighters even when they became available)

The 240,000 who were killed in Warsaw (wiki) by the Luftwaffe in Sept 1939 did not deserve to be killed nor did the hundreds of thousands murdered by Einsatzgruppen nor the millions, shot, gassed, hung, beaten or starved to death in the camps but they died nonetheless. Those who died in London by the V2 rockets which were still falling while Dresen was being bombed did not deserve to die. Boming stopped the poison gas made in Chemische Fabrik Goye in Dresden from killing many more people.

Wasn't all the industrial targets on the outskirts of the city? If any of those got hit, it was by dumb luck. The aim was right for the center of the city.

Very many people know that the Japanese suffered greatly from the nuclear and firebombing but few people know that for every 2 Japanese Civilians who died in bombing raids over Japan 3 died in Germany and for every 1 civilian Japan lost Before and immediately after the war Germany lost 6.

Google Earth has old aerial maps of Lubeck now. I took a look and you can see the damage, but it was less than I had anticipated. Most of the city was intact, with only a relatively small area in the center leveled.

The most ancient blocks with the most historical houses and churches burned down. What you see are only frames of what they used to be.

And the RAF propaganda claimed that it was the port. A typical propagandist lie. The harbor didn't receive a single bomb. It was the historical centre with historical value which receved the bombs.

And this was the pattern to come of the RAF night bombings.
