He told the same story when I saw him- the previous owner took very good care of it. The amazing thing about the guitar is that it is actually a low end Gibson from the 30's- Gibson called it the Kalamazoo because they didn't want to have the Gibson name associated with it (sort of like a Fender "Squire"). Still, in his hands, even a cigar box with a rubber band for strings would sound brilliant.

@drewzian1724 : yeah, he typically travels with two matons and that Gibson Kalamazoo. i can't remember all the details behind it, but i think somebody gave it to him on his deathbed. If i'm correct, the guitar's from the thirties.

@cubealicious At a gig Tommy told us he had visited one of his fans, after being sent a letter from the guys wife explaining that her husband was dying. Tommy spent the day with him playing Beatles songs and at the end the guy gave him this beautiful Gibson. Tommy said that he'd gone to bless a brother and instead it was him that had been blessed. There wasn't a dry eye in the house!
