I think it was the other way around, Chuck Norris' specialty was Korean martial arts (particularly Tang Soo Do), which are known for their kicking, and Bruce Lee's first style was Wing Chun, well known for its fast and versatile hand techniques. I think Chuck actually passed along some kicking techniques to Mr. Lee (before that he used high kicks in his movies but his earlier texts on martial arts stressed only low kicks...Chucky gave him the tactics to employ high kicks.)
