Take a look at some other iPhone samples. With really bright light (behind the camera) and not much background noise, the iPhone does really well. However, with lots of noises, and poor lighting, it's not too great -- although I guess that's true with almost any video camera.
I ordered my 3GS tonight. White 16 GB. I would have ordered 32 GB but it's $499 for me (early upgrade) and i'll never use anything near 32 GB anyway. On my current 3G i only use about 4GB of my 16 GB.
I was going to buy mine from the AT&T store, but I decided to order it through Apple and receive it on the 19th. I suppose there's some people out there that would use 32 GB, but I try to keep my phone with a minimum of photos, music, movies, and other such things. I suppose just like the desktop computer the iPhone runs a little faster when it's not cluttered up with too many files.
They'll run the same speed no matter how much stuff you have on it. They have a SSD Hard drive built in, it basically means you have instant data access to any file, and it defrags automatically.
Sorry for the delay getting back to you. The new iPhone has a three megapixel camera. With a nicer camera lens, and the ability to take macro close-up photos, it really makes for a nice portable camera.
Thanks. I only just recently started publishing a lot of videos to YouTube. Prior to getting the iPhone 3GS, I found I was spending hours just publishing a few videos. Now I'm able to publish many videos in just minutes.
I know it's pretty amazing. In my latest videos I've been recording while riding my bicycle and getting video of the view looking forward, then I add the YouTube audio soundtracks and it comes out pretty nice.
Finally! someone that makes a review sample video in the outside ant talking. Thanks

I'm glad you liked it. I've thought about producing a sequel, "The Making of the iPhone Test Video and Director's Cut."

I was thinking of buying the Omnia HD but the audio quality is more important for me so Iphone rules!

Overcast skies are actually pretty good for the video quality - less blown out highlights : )

That's what I've been finding. On a bright but overcast cloudy day, the quality is really nice.

That is pretty darn good quality for phone vid cam.
That's better than some point-and-shoot digis out there.
Especially when you consider that YOuTube converts your video to .flv file

it's really good quality. I got the phone this morning...it was a short wait. However, I haven't used the video utility yet.

Congratulations on getting the new iPhone. I'm sure you're really like. I don't know if I'll go back to using a regular video camera.
