  • So peaceful, so innocent, so dark, so mesmerising..... so simple, so inspirational, so perfect & intoxicating.....

Rick, we miss you, but you will never be forgotten. Those finger-tips were pure magic. RIP

  • No one better dislike this ever. its so beautiful

  • QEPD Rick.. te extrañamos! :(

  • Una pieza inmortal

  • RIP Rick, we all miss you...

  • A FUCKING GREAT MASTERPIECE!

  • I am glad this music was not used for the movie otherwise DSOTM would not have completed.

  • Oh Rick :'(

  • I'm truly truly saddened by the loss of this great musical genius. RIP Rick Wright

  • averagebudgetfilms........love come on. It is the violent sequence. its from zabriskie point. it was used again on dark side of the moon and re worked as us and them.... rename yourself averagefloydknowlege!!!!!

  • @bobf1sh woah, I'm offended. I'm have more than just an averagefloydknowledge haha. :(

  • Yeah, its violent alright! This is the Dark Side song whose original title is way off

  • @AverageBudgetFilms Not really at all, actually. It was inspired by an actual violent sequence of video clips, and Us and Them is all about human conflict and all of its futilities. It's sad when you think about it - and this song comes to mind as its sombre but beautiful embodiment.

Humans tend to ingore the overwhelming similarities among themselves, with petty differences nagging at their own cultural conscience. And afterall, We're only ordinary men.

  • @mexicansmell Thank you, and it really is a great sound.

  • been searching years for this vesion!

  • Richard Wright was a phenomenal pianist and the way this piece works with the actual piece from Zabriskie Point is incredible. I'm pissed that Antonioni didn't like it, but I love what it ultimately became.

  • Rick is a genius. so simple but yet so emotional. Just a piano and a brilliant mind. You won't hear such music in the future. NEVER again! stop hoping or having dreams! Today we live in a society that doesn't appreciate true music qualities. A song doesn't need to be good, it has to be SOLD, commercial. It's all about sound effects, computed music, "fat beats", sexy singers. Look at such rediculous clowns like Lady Gaga. What have we done to music...? Floyd times are over. Irrevocably. a shame.

  • @NikF92 Fortunately, you are wrong ;)

If you think soulful music, rooted in the very deep energies of the being, is dead, check the vibes of Groundation, Kyteman, Rockamovya, Meï Teï Shô, Red Sparowes, Kula Shaker, Dead Meadow and Junk DNA.

Especially Groundation and Meï Teï Shô (the album " Xam Sa Bop "). You'll know Esperanza once again ;)

Art won't live with haters of consumerism, but with daring creators (who hate consumerism). To speak is not enough.

  • amazing, this is beatiful, peaceful and magnificent, i love it RIP

  • Rick Wright has always been my favorite member of Pink Floyd. His contributions were the most important in my opinion. Pink Floyds most beautiful songs were the ones where Wright contributed. Listen to songs like "Stay","Us and Them","See Saw",and "Wearing the Inside Out". When Wright was not contributing it just was not Pink Floyd!

  • @pinkfloydinspace Very well stated, the same goes for me, even though I don't appreciate the piano much. Still, in my opinion, Rick's keyboard work throughout Pink Floyd's history was much of the reason that they were the success that they were.

  • great tune............R.I.P

  • Where do you get this version and the 25 min Birmingham version, in fact where do you get all the rare Floyd and Barrett stuff, so frustrating to hear people talking about all these bits of fantastic music! By the way thank you for posting this mate, this is superb.

  • @nowoolovermine Please anyone??? Would love to track down some old bootlegs. I saw a bunch of CDs in Camden a few years back but that place burnt down :-(

  • @nowoolovermine Pretty sure there's a bootleg called "Violence In Birmingham" that has the entire thing.

  • Youre the man Rick Wright! If it wasn't for you i never would've started playing piano!

  • haunting, beautiful piece of music ....

  • Can truly see where "Us and Them" came from here or a good foreshadow of it.

  • this is not the full violence sequence!!

  • this is the complete session recording there is a 25minute live in birmingham 1970 version but this isnt it

  • Wow that sounds awesome! Where can I find that version to have a listen.

  • What a clear sound.

  • yes its from the sessions for there soundtrack to the film zabriskie point, its a good thing that the director didnt like this piece or darkside of the moon would not have been the same

  • Rest in Peace you genius. Your memory lives on!

  • this is so beautiful. i was always wondering what song Rick was playing in that segment on the "Pompeii" video and now I got to hear the whole song. Thanks for sharing.

  • thank you very much bro

what a piece of gold... =)

  • Awesome work by Rick. So cool to hear these early skeletons for future songs. Thanks for posting.
