  • I'm getting into the bike scene especially into bobbers can anyone point me to a forum or DIY site? I'm getting a shadow just like this one. Any help would be much appreciate.

  • WOW!!! Great sound!!!

  • Did you have to actually chop any parts to get it like this??? I like how it looks low with the small spring seat and rear fender. Did you do anything to those parts of the bike to make it look lower? Or did you just switch the stock fender and seat for those? thanks brother

  • What year is this bike... Its beautiful!!! :)

  • nice... how much exactly was a 'pretty tight budget?'

  • What year is the bike?

  • Belle bécane! à la fois sobre et sauvage.

  • Nice bike! i was wondering how did u make the front fender wider to fit the back tire? and how did u mount it on the bike? Thanks!

  • Nice whip!

  • Bike came out Good Man Best looking Honda I've seen lol Nice job Man I bet it's a lot more Fun to Ride Now knowing it looks Cooler then before lol

  • nice bike man. did you cut that rear fender from the stock or aftermarket? also is it still a soft tail or did you have to weld it? i like the look of a low tight fender but i wan't to keep the suspinsion. roads kinda suck here in chicago

  • 6 people prefer boring lame cages with 4 wheels... sick bobber dude! Do you have a video of the build?

  • nice work man, bike looks sick!

  • great bike man im thinking of getting a bobber but dont really know which one, maybe a yamaha virago 535 but yours look badass! sounds like a real bike should sound too ;)

  • @livewireart i was looking at first at the virago aswell, but its way smaller then you think! almost looks like a bike built for woman!

  • @johnny201bobber that's how I felt too -- virago 600 is really tiny. felt like a rebel...

  • looks sick man

  • What year is your bike?

  • Whats the length and the pull back on the bars, and did you use the stock risers? I'm looking for some like that just don't know what to do yet.

  • search honda vt 600 italian job for mine...

  • Nice bobber, man! Great look to it!

  • love the sound. its the best on a shadow 600 that ive ever heard

  • I have watched this about a thousand times and I gotta know, what did you to to the exhaust to get that sound?

It's the best sounding 600 Shadow I've ever seen.

  • Looks and sounds really nice :)

  • nice bike !

  • Love the bike! That's what I want to do... Wish you had some build up videos...

  • Is your bike the four speed tranny, and what size rear sprocket are you running?

  • where'd you get your helmet bud?

  • Hey awesome looking bike man. You mentioned that you did this on a tight budget. What sort of mods did you make with what kind of budget?

  • yo how much did your "tight" budget cost exactly? can you give me any ideas?

  • Nice build man.

  • beauty & nice sound too, can you tell if the zero eng. springer fork fit

    to the frame

  • beauty & nice sound too, can you tell if the zero eng. springer fork fit

    to the frame

  • the rear fender frame has to be cut to make it a one sitter?

  • you said a pretty tight budget, about how much did it cost? (not counting the bike itself)

  • u just must love that sound, really nice job tho

  • hey nice bike , im gettin ready to do my first chop on a 600 vlx and was wondering did u just cut the stock pipes and have to rejet the carbs

  • im just getting into bikes, is it better build my own bobber or is it better to buy it already made?? If i have to buy one around how much am i looking to spend on something like this??

  • @zapataboots

I think part of the fun is creating your own Mad Max machine that no one else has. If you dont have the means to make something, try Craigslist- keep the price under 3 grand.

  • @zapataboots

Build your own. It's way better to be able to say "Yeah I built this rig with my own two hands." For a first build, I think the VT600 is a great way to go. Fairly inexpensive, very nice looking lines, and the aftermarket is huge for these bikes. You should be able to find a pretty decent VT600 (or something similar) for $2000 to $2500. Good luck and have fun!

  • dude that bike is sick! Ive been looking into getting a new bike. kept on looking for something new and everyone was talking down the shadow but that mod work is inspiring me man.

Anything you can do to offer help, advice, tips, what did it cost to get the bike into that sick of form?

  • @SixStringPirate

Yah, learn how to work metal. Cut, grind, weld, drill, bolt- or make friends with someone who does. It doesnt cost much to do what I did to my bike, It just took alot of time

  • Did you get any parts from Blue Collar Bobbers?

    Any adjustment to the Frame?

    Love your Ride!!!

  • @MrCaseymoran -Frame is Lowered 2" at the coil. I did not get any parts from blue collar bobbers though. Thanks for lookin'

  • @hondachopshop that's not a stock frame is it? How did you end up modifying it?

  • @hondachopshop hi mate just got me learners for the bike... id love a bobber.. my only concern is my height... 6'2...... what height are you at brother? Cheers mate.

  • hey man what exhaust do you have?

    looks and sounds awesome

  • @wardmanss - Thanks alot! I made the exhaust out of a stock exhaust.

  • @hondachopshop so you just cut the stock exhaust? what was the lengh?

  • @hondachopshop hey i got a 2000 honda shadow and i chopped mine into a bobber and i just cut the pipes right before the mufflers on mine..and i had the carbs rejetted for the modded exhaust...it no longer backfires when ya let off the gas cause of the new jet settings and the bike sounds great!...got the loudest bike in my town...and iam competing with 1200cc harleys with drag pipes!!!...lol

  • @hondachopshop nice bike man;)

what did u do with the exhaust to get this sound?

    just remove the end part???

  • beautiful pipes! sounds like a good soundtrack!

  • those bars stock?

  • man that sounds damn close to a harley

  • cutie patootie bike!

  • dude nice bike! how tall are you???? and whats the speed that a shadow could do on the highway??? thanksssss

  • @aerohells07 -I'm 5'11- the bike has no speedometer anymore, so i think it only goes about 100 after all the mods. i bet the stock bike only goes 90

  • great bike man, good style. lookin' at building one of these. i'm 6'3 and wondering if i would look like an ape on one of these bikes, how tall are you?

    cheers

  • @mulletstud same problem here, forget how you look on it, just ride it with style (one handed with bad back-posture) nice bike by the way, but ur wife is gonna kick ur ass for driving it on the lawn.. :)

  • Ramones and shadow ! man you rock !

  • What a nice bike Great job. can you explain how you fixed the frame.

    Thanks, Erik

  • well done keep it up awesome bike and massive sound

  • Fantastic work...great bike!

  • Hey man, nice bike. How did you handle the air cleaner? I want to get rid of the stock on mine. Thanks.

  • Loving the look of the bike. Sorry if it's been asked before, but what kind of budget is "tight budget"? Just so I have an idea of what's needed.

  • hi, love how u customized the bike man, looks amazing. I have a question I just got my motorcycle licence and I want to get like a beginners bike, u know something to start riding BUT i also want one so later on I can customize it, have any ideas, appreciate the help

  • @heli82 Just get 2 bikes. The last thing you want is a bike sitting in the garage in parts while its a beautiful day outside. I would buy w/e bike you want to start on, and then I would find a cheap bike that has issues running, get it running ok then start doing whatever with it.

  • @gratscot thx, you think that a cruiser bike would be good to start riding?

  • @heli82 Generally its cc size that you look at. When you are starting you would generally go with a smaller cc bike, that way you have less torque and hp to mess up with. 600 is kinda the standard size, so anything under that people feel are beginner bikes. Obviously each bike is different, but if you want like a crotch rocket the tons of people start on the ninja 250, and Honda makes a cruiser type bike called that rebel thats a 250. The main thing is dont get a 800 pound 1100cc bike.

  • Looks and sounds fuckin´great man! Good job.

  • ur bike is just simply perfect.. like its sound..

  • this video inspired me to build my own honda chopper. I added a little video of my bike.

  • This is just, fucking sweet....

  • im in the process of making a bobber hard part is the seat for me any tips? ill post a video today

  • man, i am about to buy a 2001 ACE 750 shadow nd I want it to look just like this, i think the hondas are great to Bob. How do I go about this exactly? whatre the steps? did you follow a guide or example? You said it was pretty low budget. Looks great man!

  • nice bike , im making my vt 600 in a bobber at this time

  • what kind of back fork would you recommend for a bobber style on the vt 500. i just bought one .. really like the stretched back fork look.. what did you do to the drive shaft to get the extension???any help is appreciated! thanks..

  • @ziontific1978 The VLX shown is a chain final drive, and is a 4 speed. Your VT500 (I'm assuming is about an '85 model) is a shaft final drive. Trying to do alot of chassis mods on a VT500 will be a challenge. However, the extra gears that the VT500 has will be a nice plus. You'll get alot more performance, especially with speed. Additionally, it has a different rear suspension, springs v/s a softail configuration that is on the VLX. Take your time with your build & avoid shortcuts. Good Luck!

  • pretty clean bike kid"" nice work""

  • the shit if fuckin sweet! i got a mint vt500 i want to do the same thing. love ur work shit is sick!

  • where is the oil tank?

  • more closeups! damn this thing looks cool ;)

  • did you make new exhaust or it it original? sounds really nice, and bike looks great too!

  • Dude this is one of the best bikes ive seen. Sounds Great too

  • nice work man. looks awesome.

  • What year?

  • your bike looks so bad ass

  • OK...So when are you going to quit fucking around and get yourself a real bike? It looks like a Harley and kinda sounds like one, but it isn't one! If you're on a tight budget, then why are you wasting money on this shit? I'm only kidding with you, it isn't that bad for a honda!

  • hey great job i wanna trade my deluxe for a bike next summer

  • Lovely bike. When you say 'budget', what do you mean?

  • great sound / chop

  • How tall are you?

  • theres alot of good questions on here I wounder why he doesnt answer them

  • @aequintanilla The guy hasn't logged in for a month. Probably out riding the bobber.....

  • @Billyhadley1965yeah that is true but i realized looking threw previous post people already asked him these question and he answered them and tired of asking the same question over and over again

  • what a beast of a bobber rat bike i dont think so my friend im a big fan of rat bikes 2 but this is just a sick and i mean sick bobber

  • anyone know the handle bar length?

  • anybody know the year of the bike?

  • Very nice.

  • sweet

  • very nice

  • you should make quick list of what you did to it. i like it alot. Please!

  • love that sound !!!

  • FUCK MAN y duz every honda bobber gotta b a "rat rod" dude its a bobber no fuckin rat rod in sight...its offensive even callin a foreign make a rat rod

  • Sick bike. One of my favorite bobbers here on youtube, I check this video out quite a bit. How much did you spend converting your bike? There's one for sale around here and I want to pretty much copy your whole style on the bike haha not ashamed to say it. Well like I said sick bike, great work man.

  • this bike is pretty stupid and your shirt and surfing sucks

  • can you elaborate on the tight budget

  • my bike looks almost exactly like that. only thing is the back fender, is that a custom or did you order it?

  • Ramones!

  • nothing like a bobber friend... i'm getting a Nightster and bobbing it for next summer... it's a dream bike... sweet ride man... cheers from Boston!

pretty tight budget????,,,humm...so then imagine what you could have done with some extra pennies!!!....damn!..

  • the bike looks great.

  • Really curious as to what the specs are on the drag bars. looking into getting some and i like the look of these.

  • Nice job, good reliable base bike, just need to grow some hairs.

  • Very nice bike!!

  • Wow..good look! What year is your VT600?

  • Dude...what year is this bike?

  • How tall are you man? i´ve been wondering if im to big for the shadow 600 :(

    looks great thow..

  • weld on hardtail or completely new frame?

  • I had a 99 Honda Shadow VLX 600 and Im kicking my ass for selling it now. What a great project it would have been. Wanted a bigger bike and thought I could get a new one right away. Damn banks. Sounds awesome man. Great Job!!

  • супер!!!

  • NICE BIKE BUDDY.i ALWAYS LIKE MOTORCYCLES. 1 MONTH AGO I BUT A HONDA REBEL09 AND LAST WEEKEND I BOUGHT A YAMAHA VSTAR AND I'M TRYING TO GET SOME IDEAS

  • Love the look just the way it is. Always did like the drag bars (I even like the downturned ones, like the cafe racers)

  • what a sound *_*

  • You got me from the roar!

  • Sweet!!! I'd do 16" apes though

  • whatssup man beutiful bobber bro.......i just got a allstock 535 yamaha virago ........fixn to bob it up got a lot to do to it........bars pipes paint exhaust chopp fenders and all that good stuff......beutiful man its gonna take me about the same ammoujnt time to workin hard savin up money and tryin to pay tha billz........good shiit bro

  • where did u get the pipes for that?

  • very good trip!!!!!!!

    fifree ,avignon ;france

  • nice work!

  • What year is this shadow? For some apparent reason the tanks look different among shadows.

  • that's because it's not a stock tank. You can have them made, or you can order them like that. Honda does do custom parts. There's a honda shop just 20 miles from my house. They will actually do custom work to your honda if you request it, and can pay for it.

  • Dude your bike is awesome!!!! But like what do you mean it took 6 months to built it????

You mean that before it looked diferrent than in the video????

  • Yah it was alot different. Check out a stock Honda VT600, plus the bike was totally wrecked when i got it

  • how did you got that sound? i have a Spirit 1,100cc i put on it pipes like yours (shorts) but i only had a loud but annoying sound that hurts xD..

  • the 600 is a much smaller engine, so the sound is more bearable than the 100. You should baffle the pipes on yours they are cheap add ons

  • Awesome job, man. Great bike and great sound.

  • thanks alot, i appreciate the comment

  • oh man that bike is bitchin' !!! only thing i miss is the kickstarter - but great work dude

    amazing bike - amazing sound

wish we could drive those bikes also in germany without db-killer and stuff like that ...

    rock on

  • yeah, well they will soon put those restrictions on bikes here too

  • damn....makes me wish i would have kept

    mine..

  • hey nice bike. just wondering did you make it a hard tail?

  • It is still a softtail

  • Nice shadow, but i've got an odd question, just curious to know where you got your helmet and if its a thin vintage style and not the big bulky kind, from the video it looks thin and vintage and thats the style im look'n for...

  • I ound this helmet in a store back in New York. Im sure you can find them online, but this one is non-DOT

  • oh man i just jizzed in my pants from the sound

  • that ones badass piece of machinery

  • Thanks man!

  • Amazing. Is the tank standard? How much did you spend?

    Tks

  • Tank is standard. I spent about 2000 bucks on the entire project, including the cost of the bike (it was wrecked for 300 bucks) neede tires, wheel, forks, headlight- all from a salvage yard

  • looks nice

  • god job .. is very great bike

  • nice bike i have just the same as yours, made it into a bobber too

  • sick bike man! i just bought a 83 shadow. working on getting it running first then i will be choppin it up and making it into a bobber

  • @mntbiker2008

Go to Delphi forums and look up the VLX forum. Great folks and bikes there that will help you with all the info you need to get your bike up and running. We like doing the mods too. Lot's of bobbers. :-)

  • perfect project bike!

  • Did you change the tank on it?

  • @knoxundead

    That's a stock tank.

  • tank is stock

  • Where do you get helmets like that? Sick!!!!

  • @JakesArnoose

Any bike novelty shop. Not a DOT helmet. If that matters to ya. D&D Outfitters carries them.

  • do you know about helmets? Can you tell me what is the most waterproof full face motorcycle helmet that I can buy? I'm not afraid to look silly, either as long as it's waterproof. (leak proof)...right now, I'm looking at the Bell Powersports Zephyr Full-Face...someone claims that it's leak proof or close to it

  • get the helmet that you want, and then you can go to autozone or a place like that, there's a liquid that they sell for the windshield that repels the water just like you want

  • I was just wondering, Can you purchase weld on rear frame sections for these? If so, where do you get them?

    Thanks

  • Looks great. i did this very mod for a guy acclaimed at the NY Motorcycle Show (Javits Center NYC) in1996. Work done at SD Cycles he painted the bike candy purple. we call that a digger fender. Solid mounted mudcatcher articulates with the swing arm. The rider enjoys the benefit of the shocks (in this case underslung softail style) while the pillion passenger rides a very active rigid option. I'll dig up some pics if anyone is interested. English Don, NYC-UK

  • What did you use to give the black paint that non glossy look?

  • @UNDEADoCROWS Are you serious?

  • to undeadocrows... possibly mat black paint

  • JUst flat black

  • I guess you'd have to pick a slim girl and put 'er on your shaft when you go somewhere...

  • badass bobber....got put up more videos of it

  • OK, ill post another soon, i was planning on it anyways because i made a few upgrades

  • Nice job

  • gr8 work, real nice subtle bobber, good job
