  • whos favorite part starts @ 5:53 me!!!

  • Neil Young DID perform with CSN at Woodstock, but he refused to allow his face or name to be used in the filming.

  • Keep in mind young grasshoppers that this was the FIRST time CSN played in public . . . Yup, a late act compiled to play at Woodstock after John Sebastian (Lovin' Spoonful- "Summer in the City") decided not to join the band.

  • dascruicloseout TOTALLY AGREE!!harmonys like no other band

  • What the f=== is the Obma add doing popping up here? F=== Obma!

  • With tears in my eyes, I send these words of Heartwarmth to one who is missed. They were right, It IS forever.

  • goofball! neil young IS NOT IN THIS VIDEO!!!

  • Hey NAFNLEPPEZ Neil is the organ/keyboard player with the hat. Just saying. Very much the back bone of their sound

  • You should take Neil Young's name out of the label..being that he is not preforming with them. Just saying..

Glad I watched it though, pretty good version and video quality.

  • Im 16 and i LOVE the 60's and 70's!! i love love love this song!

  • First chills, then tears then inspiration.....

  • I had read that this was the first time they had played this song in front of audience...sure did great..this was one of my sister Judy's fav song..she passed away last month and I want to dedicate this to her....

  • Incredible!!! My favorite CSN song ever!!

  • This literally puts chills up my spine! There has never been .. and never will be ... better vocal harmonies in the history of rock! PERIOD.

  • I am now almost 62 years old. Why does this make me wish I were still 20??? I know-- it is because these folks were the voice of my generation. My most valuable one is For What it's Worth. The trueness of out time!!

  • @auntiezanne im 30 and i love this song

  • @MrTatonka801 im 21 and i love this song.

  • Stills has so much fucking soul!

  • Oh to be there...

  • This is, and will always be, the best version of this song. Ever.

Also, I've had one of my guitars in Eb-Eb-Eb-Eb-Bb-eb tuning for the last month :]

  • just saying neil young was not with the band at this time so the title should read crosby stills and nash. not young

  • @herb821

Actually, Neil was with CS&N @ Woodstock, where this was filmed. He was off-camera, but he was there.

  • @herb821 neil young refused to be on camera for the performance. if you are a true neil young fan you can hear his voice in the mix. it's perfectly obvious. also, the PA announcer says "and young" while the audience is clapping. it's hard to hear, but listen closely.

  • @chankagogo12

what? jajaja young is obviously not singing here, you can clearly listen to 3 voices and the anoucer never says " and Young" jajajjaa I listen to a lot of CSNY and I know when young is singing and when he's not

  • @naivecol search for "Crosby Stills Nash & Young - rare Woodstock footage " on youtube and tell me that isn't him @ 3:25.

  • 0% of people dislike this.

  • Right On!

  • fuck i like them with or without young...all of it kicks ass

  • under what messed up theory did *neil young* become more commercially viable than *these 3 guys*....music was sold down the river long ago....

  • 8:15 HOW?!?!?!

  • lol hendrix and neil stole a pickup truck , and hotwired it to get to woodtsock

  • @TheTeehee97 where did you get this information from ? because im kinda sure that i heard a different way hendrix got there ,,, i do know this there was a guitarist that played his heart out from behind the stage named larry lee and he also played a few leads ,, as well the band when hendrix played was not his band , he also played at 9 am in the morning and more than half the people were already gone

  • @lesterclaypool1 Much more than half were gone, there might have been 50-60 thousand left!

  • One of the most poetic songs, ever! And what a mouth Stephen Stills has. YUMMY!

  • Tune into HDNet May 22nd 7:30pmET to watch Crosby-Nash: In Concert, Broadcast LIVE from the Palace Theatre in Stamford, Connecticut.

  • Fuck, a real festival with none of that commercial crap that they are now smothered in. we will never have something that pure ever again. It must have been so beautiful. I fuckin hate the world today. It is so corrupted by money that nothing is pure and sacred. Long live CSNY!

  • Neil Young wasn't with them yet here

  • @tylerlovesthebeatles Neil was there, you hear the announcer say the names in the cadence of CNSY, but he leaves Neil's name off...Neil refused to be on camera, already an iconoclast

  • my mom dated crosby in the 70s...they used to jam in our kitchen in San Jose California...he gave me an acoustic guitar (harmony)........very cool....

  • it's not Young, Neil has nothing to do with this song

  • this is a good beer drinkin song

  • How can those filthy lazy, hippies make such beautiful music? This is something you'd hear in '3-D Super Surround Sound' when you got to heaven!

  • rock this mfer

  • It's gettting to the point........(where i feel better)......thanks boys

  • My favorite performance of all time...stills is beautiful.

  • loving this Thank you for post!

  • Stephen Stills...brilliant!

  • I wasn't born for another 16 years after woodstock, but this is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • I had a boyfriend in 1975 that looked just like Graham Nash.

    Mark, where are you now?

  • With the exception of some off key singing in the beginning, a great performance.

    I watched it live.

  • This was before Young. Just CSN.

  • Crosby is playing a 12 string guitar. This was the second time they have played together which stills says in the first 20 seconds. And young refused to go on camera during woodstock, probably because he was in the country illegally at the time.

  • Sure, we've all felt like this at one time or other. I heard later on he shot her down by the river.

  • wasn't this supposedly their first show. I know there was something special about it. And why did Young leave?

  • @vanillamustard1 He didn't, he hadn't yet joined.

  • It doesn't get better than this IMO of course. Can anyone tell me what Crosby is playing? Well not sure exactly what he's doing with his guitar but it looks like a Martin D12 35.

  • @no10851pc i hear what i think is a sitar in this song. i think a sitar is an 18 string ,eastern indian instument. i can't see this video too well. i am not sure about this, though.

  • think it's the just the not-so-high-quality of the audio that makes the guitar sound like a sitar, no ?

  • Perfect!!! A+ either you know this

Or You Dont..A+ thanks old guy

    In canada!!

  • I was in Vietnam in 69, missed Woodstock amongs other event's. This song is forever imbedded in my brain right next to the bullett i took in Nam.

  • @beachman3147 That makes you a hero in my book, brother!

  • stills love song to his lost love ms,.judy collins

  • Do you mean you know Judy?

  • I just saw CSN last night and they are still AMAZING. If you're a fan and they are coming near you should go see them, it's well worth it!

    Love you CSN!

  • where's neil?

  • Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome for us, Crosby, Stills, Nash

  • just listen to those harmonys..and there live!!

  • I think I love this version the most. I think even more than the studio version

  • This song is timeless.

  • @NYerintransit

I know each generation has its favorites and all. BUT... this is 3 guys, 3 mics and 3 guitars, thats all. No overdubbing, synths or harmonizers. And I believe this is the first time they played it live. One of the great acoustic performances of all time.

  • @NYerintransit I agree. 'Suite Judy' is a timeless song of loss and unrequited love. The misery that Mr. Stills was under when he penned this classic shows what artists do best; when confronted with tragedy of immeasurable proportions, you somehow wring the music out of it into an act that approaches redemption.

  • @NYerintransit The very definition of timeless........

  • @Fougeddaboudit16 there's not a single music store in the country where you couldn't buy their albums. no need to find them on youtube.

  • this is a great song. wish they had the album version on this fuckin youtube all are live.

  • Rock legends
