  • what number was he again?

  • What happened to him?

  • @IIGAMEZIIFREAKII He died of a heart attack

  • NHL tested his blood and proved he was doping.

  • @stillcovalent whats your point true or not still very dumb to say

  • @vFuhMaZ how so? doping is dangerous for athletes, that's my point.

  • @stillcovalent because ur should really be dissin on a death vid all i have to say

  • @vFuhMaZ if raising awareness is dissing, then i without a doubt have no shame in dissing a death vid.

  • @stillcovalent this wasn't even an NHL game. They had nothing to do with it.

  • R.I.P from Canada

  • R.I.P. from sweden ^^

  • It's really sad.

But hockey and lacrosse are brutal for your heart. The constant stop and go motion is really hard on your heart, and this happens occasionally.

    RIP from Canada.

  • Hos heart stopped on the bench

  • i dont think its respect telling people to "shut the fuck up" over this mans last minutes. RIP.

  • im not trying to be disrespectful but how did he die?

  • @jojojojo221 his heart stopped... :( and was pronounced dead at the hospital

  • I like the scoreboard :o

  • he drank too much vodka before this khl game

  • I didn't know how great this player played but R.I.P from Czech (sry my eng but you know what i mean)

  • Ya know I wouldnt really care if was fake but it wqasnt i dont know why a lot of people think hockey is fake i ply it its not fake

  • .... ?

  • if you look very closely at the bench in 1:03, you can see that he is there watching

  • @NewYorkRangers78

uh no, if you look very closely at the same time you can clearly see his head brnt over against the boards

  • The video to the right, "Hockey player dies during game!!" is a direct continuation of this one. The music picks up where this one leaves off; the same music. At the end of this one, he is collapsing right then.

  • @DermochelysCoriacea looks like we can break down and guess when he collapses pretty good lol...but that vids horrible man, the way everyone wants to help but doesnt know what to do..especially jagr he looked fuckedup

  • @kerleyfries2 haha ya. How cool would that be to be a doctor and play hockey. Everybody would have so much respect for you, and you'd always be there to help guys in need. Not that it would have helped here, unless the hockey doctor kept all his instruments in his gear. Man, I wonder what was going through Alexie's head when he started feeling weird.

  • Did play stop right then because he passed out on the bench?

  • I've seen better quality hockey at a High School spring league game.

  • What number is he?

  • @hockeychickadee he is number 7 on the white team he is skating in the beginning of the video

  • he had a heart condition and ended up haveing a heart attack.

  • RaDa67 yah your right european hockey isnt to much contact or uppace but he was a great hockey player and anyone correct me if im wrong but did he not collapse due to organ failure for taking steroids?

  • why are russian hockey rinks always so dark

  • @thelongboarder14 Because they dont have the TV lights american rinks need.

  • that wood suck i love hockey and i hope that will never happen again

  • no its not true.

  • man.. r.i.p

But this game seems like a house league game..... not the skill level obviously.. but I mean the flow an how relaxed it is... I guess that's how European leagues are..

  • unbelievable that they would let the battery go dead on the AED. Tragic death. Sometimes it doesn't work with HCM, the soccer deaths of Feher and Foe but still he deserved the try.

  • are you fucking kidding me!?

thats horrible you know what you deserve to die because you said that is so mean i hope you go to hell for saying that even if you were kidding thats not funny at all. Do you think your cool because you said that? well you not so go fuck off and grow up!

  • Wtf are u fucking stupid?? what the fuck did this young kid ever do to you, i think you shuld deserve to die you piece of shit

  • @OsmanMohamed1989 are u fucking serious.... you have issues

  • Heart problems

  • I have to believe an AED could have saved his life; it saved Jiri Fischer's life.

  • yea. it was the last few minutes of the game and all the medics and ambulances had left

  • How'd he die?

  • Comment removed

  • Humm i don't know what your saying but Sherepanov is in the white team ... R.I.P

  • That's the KHL? It's smaller than the rink I played at when I was 12...

  • its the camera. all the rinks, even the ones at the malls are NHL size. only olympic rinks are bigger than that.

  • r.i.p from finland

  • R.I.P Pal

  • what number is he?

  • thats sad

  • the arena song at the end after that he callopesd

  • cherepanov who appeared to have had pre existing heart condition that was not detected during testing at the NHL scouting combine before the 2007 entry draft, could have been saved with better care. So dont blame on the khl, blame nhl too.

  • woah listen to the last seconds of this song you hear welcome to the jungle and then in the other video it starts iff were the other video ended =(

  • he was gonna play the new york rangers

  • shut the fuck up you iggnorant pice aof shit. this is about someoinee dying and your dumb ass has to put these spam things on it. how would you like it if i posted spam comments on a video of your mother dying? yea, grow a fucking heart you dick

  • lolumad.

  • i'm so lost. how did he die?

  • heart failure

  • 1:04

  • thats so fukn sad ae...and whoeveer said he desrved it he was a better player than you so shut the fuck up!!

  • whoever qiranwang is you prolly are a 30 year old washed up fatman who thinks hes hot shit playing beerleague so shut up and get a life and have some damn respect

  • i cant believe there are people making fun of him, a promising hockey prospect died... as much as i hate to say it, he might have died if he went to the nhl because he had a pre existing heart condition, so if he got hit hard, it would have all been over

  • You all need to get a life if your going to talk about someone who died. thats iggnorant for real.

  • if you freeze it at 1.04 you can see him bent over on the bench as jagr stands up

  • is he like beside him?

  • you can see his head faced down, go to like one minute and click pause and play really quick to make it go slower, you can see to the right of jagr, his head

  • @kerleyfries2 Is that him on the bench there with his head down, in the white?

  • @DermochelysCoriacea yea you hardly see him but you can for a split second before jagr stands up you see him bent over with his head down

  • @kerleyfries2 So he must have passed out right when this video stops, right? In the video of his being carried off and attended to, Jagr is still to his left, I think.

  • @DermochelysCoriacea from what ive read it was almost immediately after his last shift, so my guess would be he collapses very soon after, for all we know he was collapsing at the part we see becuase of how hes positioned..and yes jagr was to the left in the video of him carried off..weird how jagrs jersey looks like it reads RIP too

  • @kerleyfries2 Yeah, That RIP appearance is so trippy. You're probably right about that: the way he's hunched over like that, it looks like he is losing consciousness right there. He is way hunched over.

  • shut the fuck up pay respect to dead im gonna say u suck if u die

  • @astonmartincam "if" ?? everyone dies, period no stopping it

  • @BlueBlazer89 im just saying show respect to a dead guy you dont even know him and you bad talking him

  • Жаль..Спорт-это не та вещь,от которой люди должны умирать((

  • that sucks that his heart stoped

  • I find it sort of eerie that in another video that i just watched, i was thinking how strange it was that the middle of a guns n' roses song was blaring in the background while he was laying there but in this video, just after the whistle when he would be on the way to the bench, the song is just starting.

  • he wasnt on drugs he was a good kid

  • NR 7

  • what number was he

  • number 7 on white.

  • I didn't see where he actually dies...I don't even know where he is...help? This just looks like any regular hockey video.

  • how about a last shift and then collapses on the bench... is youre IQ like a dog or what....

  • I wasn't looking at the bench and my IQ's 133, thank you very much.

  • Ok obviously not included the most simple logic thinking that if he didnt collapse at the shift, its right after... it takes a dog to realize that. IQ is a stone age measurement btw, smart ass....

  • Those are pretty cool scoreboards. Don't make em like that in canada

  • I was thinking that too. Kind of Blade Runnery. Or like they'd have in a generic hockey movie, and you'd go "Yah, that's cool, and it makes the movie cool, but they'd never have that crap in real life. Where would people sit?" =)

  • Oh is this the kid that was supposed to be on the New York Rangers, and then he collapsed and died?

  • thats a long shift

  • I wanna play in the KHL

  • this is fucked up man at the age of 19 his coach said he didnt have heart problems

    why did he collpase

  • cuz he did drugs

  • He did have heart problems. Doctor's say he shouldn't have been playing hockey in the first place.

That and drugs. He used nikethamide, an illegal stimulant that as a side effect takes less blood to the heart. This, coupled with myocarditis, is a surefire way to die. Oh he also go hit in the chest pretty hard a few shifts before he died.

  • Comment removed

  • what drungs?!R u crazy?

  • well the autopsy said he was using performance enhancing drugs

  • Maybe he wasn't adequatley hydrated throughout the game

  • It was the medical staff not adequately prepared for something like this.. No attempt to at least stablize him before moving him to the back (when they didn't even have a stretcher!).. No defibrulators handy that could have really helped save his life. Yes, the hydration could be a factor, but I don't believe it would make your heart stop all at once.

  • He was using EPO to raise his hematocrit and increase his aerobic capacity.

His autopsy tested positive for nikethamide, a respitory stimulant. Stimulant use can dehydrate you and in combination with being on EPO with a high hematocrit, he probably just ended up with thick blood and a heart attack.

Very common in Pro Cycling, not so much in Hockey.

  • no he had heart problems over a year. Even before 2007 draft.

  • A very sad day indeed. R.I.P. Alexei. Hockey fans from around the world will forever miss you.

  • R.I.P

  • The federal Investigative Committee also announced that a chemical analysis of Cherepanov's blood and urine samples allowed experts to conclude "that for several months Alexei Cherepanov engaged in doping".[13] Official sources have stated the banned substance taken was nikethamide, a stimulant, and that it had been taken 3 hours prior to the game in which he passed.[18]

  • what number?

  • hes number 7

  • This could be eliminated with simple blood testing in hockey 15 minutes before the start of a game in the dressing rooms. WADA controls or Russian Anti Doping conrols.

  • ok the reason he died was because there is always supposed to be an ambulane in the rink but because the ambulance left with 5 minutes left he couldne't be treated

  • Look, I have respect for the guy and I feel bad for him and his family that he died doing what he loved, but it's been confirmed by tons of newspapers, magazines and TV shows that he doped and one of the side effects of it was blood thinning and that, combined with the HCM he had, made the HCM worse and he died. He still had HCM, but he might have not died if he hadn't been doping. Again I still feel bad for him and his family, but he was doping 100%.

  • It was blood vectoring.

    EPO and stimulant abuse.

He had a high heamatocrit most likely (RBC count) and the stimulants dehydrated him further raising his heamatocrit until his blood was to thick to pump and he got a clot and died of a heart attack from his heart not getting enough O2.

  • his heart stopped. he has problems with it buth taked doping...

  • O i'm sorry i was reading it wrong...

  • He wasn't doped! read it online!

  • blood doper BUUUUH!!

  • He wasn't supposed to play hockey!

  • FUCKING US of A!!!!!!!!And you blame russia for steroids, you sons of a bitches. FUCKING LIARS!!!!!!

    FUCK US oF A!!!!!!!

  • ???

  • Ivan Drago, rest my case hahaha RIP cherapanov, we really coulda used you this year on the Rangers :'(

  • he was doped

  • For fucks sake, he wasn't doped! He had a serious heart condition. Sadly it seems to only be confirmed when it's too late

  • blood doper

  • blood doping

  • He had a pre-existing heart condition.

  • I cant believe im saying this but awsome scoreboard. I met him when i went russia

  • there was no collition with him.

  • lol

  • Haha I got minus 7 and spammed

  • does anyone know where the collision with jagr is?

  • Never happened, this was a rumor on the first day that was untrue.

  • I thought he was number 17? Isn't that him sitting on the bench?

  • He was wearing #7 at the time.

  • first canucks now the rangers the last two teams markus naslund has been on a young star prospect has died. what a wierd coincidence

  • this is terrible but you gotta think maybe he was on some type of drug that made his body start to deteriorate.

  • Actually, he had a natural birth defect that didn't regulate the blood flow to vital organs properly.

  • They have debated wether he died of Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or Chrnic Ischemia. They are both natural, heart conditions.

  • canadians are the best at hockey not russians

  • Absolutely.
