actually i see it as a spawn of goth because after all. It's half goth and half punk. But all the people i am talking about are people like "slip-knot" fans or something other basically they think goth is "ballsy" in which they are wrong because if you get technicle just about everyone wears make up and/or cross dresses i proudly do both. Goth is a genre of punk too;it just annexed itself a subculture.Death-rock has a paradoxical root to Goth and are sister genres to one another sharing similar aesthetics and sound.Goth is British/Irish and Death-rock was North-American.They just intermingle with one another a lot.Believe me I know;Deathrock however did not annex itself a new-subculture and remained largely a genre of punk.
