  • Paul McCartney can fuck off

  • vocal difficulty on guitar hero = Asian

  • I like Brent smith version better!:D

  • yea dougs version i like more even thou i have the album with brent the reason is doug puts more emotion into the song especially in the very start

  • Doug's version wins.

  • DOUG ROBB IS THE BEST MAN!!!!! FTW! YEAH BABY!!!

  • sorry but this def isnt as good as the brent smith version, but still very good.

  • I think Doug puts more emotion into it. Brent just seems bored.

  • @TrippTheVandal he was going with the beat of the song i think but thats me =)

  • i love shinedown and i love brent smith but i think this version is much better. the other version is still good though

  • 711,711!!!!th

  • Was that Lacey Mosley I saw at the end?

  • @anson1131 Apocolyptica "Broken Pieces" Feat Lacey Mosley

  • brent smith does a better virsion

  • is it me or does the girl at the end look a lot like lacey sturm from flyleaf

  • @xtinaschampion it's her, it's a prelude to some video apocalyptica did featuring her.

  • Listen to both at the same exact time...

    It's just ...

  • Brent smith smokes this guy!

  • @wildbill1 i......disagree. doug robb has more passion. i like both versions though

  • love it

  • all apocalyptica's videos are all basically same.... and brent smith did it better

  • This has to be my 2nd favorite song by them. Right behind I Don't Care

  • i think both of the versions are freaking amazing but i think that doug robb's voice hits this perfectly...

  • Comment removed

  • @violeticfire their songs and videos are linked telling a story... like Coheed and cambria do...

  • he sounds like the singer from shinedown

  • Both versions are good yes, my problem is why haven't i heard this sooner? Radio, anything, wtf?

  • at the end of the video..wasnt that lacey?O.O now that i think about it all their music videos seem connected with than blackgowned lady...lol

  • @VioletIceFire yeah thats her she also has a music video with Apocalyptica that follows this one

  • the album version is so much better T.T brent smith brent smith

  • i'm sorry if i don't know doug robb, but what band is he from?

  • @Draque002 hoobastank

  • BOTH VERSIONS ARE FANTASTIC.. They each take you on a seprate but equally intense ride. Doug Robbs version is more passion filled, longing, screaming for the woman to understand. Brent Smiths version is dark, haunting, somewhat on the borderline of stalker material. If you are like me you listen to music to be transported to a memory or a feeling, so in that aspect both versions in their own way kick ass!! When I am missing my man, it's Dougs, When I miss him and I hate him for it, its Brents!

  • Brent Smith's version of this... ehh.. Doug Robb... EARGASMMMMMM

  • holy shit- eargasm

  • I like both versions, however I enjoy this version a little bit better mostly do to the emotion that Robb puts into it, don't get me wrong I really like both versions though

  • I loved Doug Robb's voice since Hoobastank started up...I love this version, but I admit that Brent Smith has a pretty good voice as well...but I prefer Robb

  • I didn't know there were two versions of this at first, and to be honest I thought I'd hate Doug Robb's version but I love it. I like that both men convey such different emotions with the same song, same lyrics. Just proves both are incredibly talented.

  • This song gives me shivers. No matter who is singing it.

  • I think Doug did it best, Brent just sounded like a whining asshole. I'm not trying to be rude, just spittin the truth y'all...

  • @etripp90 Brent Smith is the best vocalist ever @_@ just sayin'

  • they both sing prttydamn good

  • Music Therapy at its BEST!!

  • This is america last time i checked so i'm pretty sure anyone can say and think what they want.

  • You know you're bad ass when you can play metal on a Cello.

  • @zQuiicKKz fuck yeah !

  • @zQuiicKKz You also know you're bad ass when you captialize Cello xD Violin is epic in metal too. I've got an electric one :P

  • @zQuiicKKz right i thought t was for some boring orchestral until i heard APOCALYPTIA

  • I played both versions at the same time, its FRIGIN AWESOME

  • @Akira654 IKR

  • @Akira654 OMG SOOO COOL I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!!!

THO IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO GET EM AT THE SAME TIME LOL

IT SOUNDS EPIC!!!! EVERYONE PLAY BOTH VERSIONS TOGETHER!!!!!!

  • synced this with the one on itunes....... best fucking thing ever

  • this is it. i'm so done Apocalyptica is my favorite band now

  • I wish you whores would stop labeling people of mixed races. He's half Scottish, not an asain...

  • @Koldseed well is is half scottish and Japanese so he kinda is asian....

  • both do the song beautifully but prefer brett smiths version

  • people who are complaining about this whos better......they are both amazing singers im more familiar with brent smith but if the guys in Apoclyptica thought they were bad would they really pick them to do the songs?

  • Song

  • Imagine this strong with Ben Burnley or David Draiman.

  • this song is amazing if u listen to both versions at the same time

  • I love this song. Both versions. This one is more edgier, the other is softer. I love both equally. So should you.

  • @MinuteRevolutions TOTALLY agreed, my friend.

  • MUTHAFUCKIN HOOBASTANK!!!

  • IS THAT AN ASIAN? ROCKING?...WTF CAPS LOCK

  • @Muffinsz28 i dont think hes asian

  • @Muffinsz28 Freaking Racist !!!! Asians can rock hav u heard this song

  • @Muffinsz28 Lol...Atreyu's guitarist is asian actually there is plenty of asian gutiarist

  • Oh no..him again...

  • amazing song! <3

  • The story of my life...shoot cant stay away.

  • I was on Rick Perry and now this.. lol..

  • AMAZING SONG. ah....

  • john cusack sing ?haha joke

  • @Shutblackhawk You know it's very funny you called the singer John Cusack when the actual person singing here looks a lot like him. That's Doug Robb from Hoobastank.

  • The only 2 vocal songs by apocalyptica are "Life Burns!" and "I don't care"

  • @njones1091 not true... they have had lot's of singers front their music. corey taylor ville valo gavin rossdale brent and doug not to mention the ladies who have done songs with them... BOOM!!!!!!

  • @starrbite1 Well i'm glad you are quite proud of yourself but I meant to say that the only 2 vocal songs I LIKE by apocalyptica are "Life Burns!" and "i don't care" but my stupid netbook trackpad loves to go back in the sentence and I don't pay attention sometimes.

  • @njones1091 You're wrong. There is also "I'm not Jesus" featuring Corey Taylor of Slipknot.

  • @IronMayyven Oh, and "Broken Pieces" featuring Lacey of Flyleaf.

There are more than you think.

  • does anybody know why they made 2 versions?

  • @TheConservative97 Shinedown's record label wouldn't let Apocalyptica release the version with Brent Smith in the U.S.

  • Not to be a downer, but my opinion is this version.......

  • Everyone needs to shut up. Seriously. They're both fucking fantastic, as is anything that Apocalyptica produces. I believe that they both sing beautifully and wouldn't mind it being sung to me by either. <3

  • @ZombieChelly I agree.... they both bring something new and i think they both brought something amazing. They sound awesome and i have absolutly no doubt about that. ! (: And Apocalyptica is awesome!!!!!

  • @ZombieChelly doug still sucks though! BRENT SMITH FOR LIFE!

  • @Bison234 I agree doug is great :D

  • I think both versions are kick ass...BOOM!

  • brent sings it better

  • That asain is ugly singer

  • @ededdneddy1 Maybe so, but he probably makes more money than anybody on here. Hoobastank is a pretty popular band.

  • Rather disturbing that I found this video while vomiting over Rick Perry's "Strong" video.

  • @Kuth70 You're not the only one.

  • At first, I thought it was gonna be a parody with Bobby Lee. . .

  • @swensuoiresoston Back away from the crack pipe. Slowly put it down.

  • @swensuoiresoston ATTENTION! GO SUCK A MOTHERFUCKING DICK.

  • I love Doug Robb. xD Apocalyptica always picks amazing people to partner with.

  • @AngelsWithHatchets Agreed. My favorite combanition was Broken pieces with Lacey Mosley :3

  • first i heard this version...they both rock. im kinda suprised that i cant choose one over the other. both equally killer in my book.

  • mmm doug robb

  • I have a gun in my mouth

  • @Alexanderthegreat119 Does it taste good?

  • @emblemfan derp

  • I'm confused by the mutant.... Good music though.

  • i like them<3 their different from much bnds..because they dont use the casual guitars:3

  • both are flippin amazing!!!!

  • did not know that he was asain, now i know

  • i like both the versions of this song. each have their pros, just depends if you prefer a deeper or jigher voice. both vocalists have amazing talent.

  • music should only be commented on if its positive feedback lol. you commenting bad, rude, hateful, immature, or critical things will not change anything the band does with there music... when you do these things it just lets every one know how bored and jealous you are of there lives that they can play this beautiful instruments the way they do... i love them.

  • It's not all about who is better but what people like and don't like both are great though. I love both versions

  • I love this song! Both versions are great and I stand by that becasue Apocalyptica is great! The vocals is only one piece to what makes this song, the melody, the lyrics, and music make this great (I would still love this just as much if it was instrumental only). Having two awesomely sung versions is just a bonus!

  • i like this one better

  • okay, for the last time, they made four songs/ videos that tell the tale of a messed up love triangle. brent smith and doug robb are two lovers of the same woman, gavin rosdale is singing from the angle of the womans husband/ actuall partner, and lacey from flyleaf is singing from the best girlfrind/ sometimes lover p.o.v. For god's sake, grow some grey matter!

  • I have a suggestion to end this stupid 'which version is better' argument. It's called a duet.

  • @Tantalus017 PLEASE someone create that!! <3

  • @Tantalus017 The problem there is that this is somewhat a love song... I just don't see them singing with the same emotion if done together. If there should be a duet then it should be with woman. With the right person though this would work well as a duet.

  • @Tantalus017 ive tried its a bich to do took me 20 tries b4 i got it to the second

  • I adore Doug's voice so much...it's got the melody in it that gives me goosebumps. I still need to listen to Brent's version though...

  • So, these songs are freaking amazing..

But what order are these in, cause there's a story appearently

  • I Hate The New "Beep" that youTube Makes When You Vote Up A Comment >.>

  • What band is Doug Robb in? cause hes amazing :O. And also i thought it was shinedown's singer that covered this? O.o

  • @Russell8950 Doug Robb's from Hoobastank. Also, there are two versions of this song. One has Brent Smith, and the other one is this. Hope this helps. :)

  • If anyone says the song starts at 0:45, Fuck you.

  • wait was that the lady from Flyleaf at the end?

  • Goodness gracious. How many versions are there of this song?

  • @photographerleia just two, lol.

  • I love Doug, but Brent's version is much better! His voice fits the song better...very raw!

  • @DaLadyInBlack You only think that because you heard him in the song first, not Doug.

  • @Bludhoundz8 I heard this one first, but i dont know which version I like better :/

  • @DaLadyInBlack I agree. This version is ok, but Brent's voice matches it alot better.

  • there actually USED TO BE a mashup between the two versions of this song, it was really good too, but someone flagged it due to copyright laws... fuckin bullshit if you ask me...

  • Please combine Brent's version to this one! Both singers are amazing (:

  • Does anyone know the name of the girl paired up with pertu kivilaakso in this video?

  • I've been rewatching Season 1 of The Vampire Diaries, and now this reminds me of the Damon/Katherine relationship, at least what it was for the first 140 years before Elena

  • Maybe they should mash both versions together.

  • Screw Hoobastank! Shinedown is so much better!

  • Guys, please just back off.

We all have a preference, but that preference involves Apocalyptica.

I think that we can all agree each version has something lacking that the other picks up on.

  • @Apocalyptichist This is good to, but no... Brent Smith's lacks nothing but the fact that it doesn't go on forever without replay...

  • @Apocalyptichist I was about to whip it out an jack off, then I realized that was a "b." :(

  • I love this version better than the Brent version. Dougs voice shows more emotion.

  • Oh my god... I feel like I'm going gay for Rob XD this is amazing. I love Shinedown, but I prefer this version.

  • his face has the emotion, but not his voice sadly.

  • Meh Brent's voice has been over used by radio stations with that garbage Shinedown has done over the last few years. Mainly Second Chance which the radio stations here do not understand it should not be played every hour... Far from their first album. I never hear Hoobastank, so this is a pleasant change for me.

  • I love this song! And i love Apocalytica and how they play orchestra instraments!

  • who is this singing?

  • @XXtrckstarXX9 Doug Robb? lol Apocalyptica are the instrument players, just music :)

  • @XXtrckstarXX9 Doug Robb as the title promises.

  • is than on a album?

  • This guy has nothing on Brent, suck it Doug.

  • The Night Man Cometh.

  • Actually I probably like and will always like Brents version more simply because I heard it first and fell in love with it before I heard this guys version.

  • I love this version but I will think Brents version has way more passion/emotion in it.

  • This is Doug's song. Brent did a good job with it, but Doug gives the song that feeling of being whole. Brent's vocals seemed a little out of place in his version; Doug's voice flows very nicely and really captures what I believe the feel of the song is supposed to be.

  • I like Doug voice for this song better than Brents,...but Brent has an AMAZING voice,.. Dougs just feels better.

  • Does the girl at the end remind anyone else of Lacey Sturm (the singer of Flyleaf)?

  • @m1a8w it is Lacey Strum from Flyleaf

  • @m1a8w It is Lacey. The video for Broken Pieces is like a continuation of this one :D

  • Hoobastank<3

  • Personally, I couldn't choose between either version. I love both their voices so much, and they both have wonderful emotion when they sing, so I just have both of them in my iPod and when I hear the opening I'll be like, "I wonder who You've chosen this time, O Almighty Shuffle-button." :)

  • haha i remember before wen i first fell in love with this song.. i would non-stop repeat this video nd sing so loud to it nd on the 6time watching it I finally noticed at 3:32.. im like "WTF ?!!! Lacey Mosely !! Why is she there ?!!" O_O such a fail. smh

  • Both Brent and Doug have great versions, and have a lot of emotions. Personally, I prefer this version; Doug has a wider range of emotions, more melancholy, angry, and sorrowful at the same time. While Brent's version is more full of anger. Both are great versions from great singers; I just prefer the wider range of emotions present in Doug's version.

  • Seriously you people need to shut the fuck up about who is better, we all have our preferences so just get used to it.

  • That the chick from Flyleaf at the end?

  • @LuzzyFumpkins yes, that is lacie

  • @LuzzyFumpkins doh! Lacey

  • @idemus168 I thought so. I later found the song she has with them. It's awesome

  • Idk if it's because i heard Brent's version first. but i think Brent makes the song feel much better. Doug is good tho.

  • Hmmm.....I like them both...who is this guy?

  • @ghanimajade Doug Rob is the lead singer of Hoobastank...
